The superhero Sabra got her name in 1980 and the massacre in Sabra and Shatila happened in 1982, so how is it that her name is related to the massacre?? Her name is on the Sabers bush because of the thorns that are part of her power
They are bored leftist cultists looking for things to be offended about. Any argument that doesn't validate their crusade to be better than us plebes will go over their heads. May the Lord protect Israel and destroy its enemies.
Note: Sabra is not what you think, it is not the name of the cactus fruit, Sabra is the name of a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, where one of the most heinous massacres committed by the Israeli occupation took place, which was called the Sabra and Shatila massacre. Indeed, as a young Palestinian who was forcibly expelled from his country, it is shameful and painful to see large companies and organizations like Marvel and Google support this occupation and try to present an incorrect image in the form of a fake hero.
I think all you have to do to get the point across here is on the pt of inclusion but it’s literally one sentence. “Arab kids can’t read this and see themselves as anything except the villains being killed.” End pt. It stops there. You cannot make one group of people/ ethnic group the central group of villains. It’s even worse when you see how orientalist and stereotypical their portrayal is.
You guys know the MCU changes things to modernize characters for the general audience, right? The character was created in the 1980s so they will change her.
1:20 Yall are literally spreading lies and propaganda a minute into the video, Sabra is named after the Sabra cactus from the Americas, which became the nickname for Jews who were born in Israel since the early 1930's, Similar to how New Zealanders are named Kiwi. Bro the character literally existed before the massacre in Lebanon did, that should show how dumb that accusation is. If you want to make a podcast and provide information, get actual facts before you state them, don't hear propaganda from some Al Jazeera article which is automatically anti-Israeli and sometimes even antisemetic. At the end of this video you are speaking about responsibility, but you don't take your responsibility in this podcast yourself.
I doubt that you watched the entire video because we explicitly explain (in a graphic) what the word "Sabra" means for Israelis. Yes, the character was introduced before the Sabra and Shatila massacre. However, the name is still offensive and insensitive. That name has a negative connotation to it and Marvel should haven’t considered that before going ahead with the name Sabra. And to top it all off, they make the announcement a week before the 40th anniversary of one of the most tragic events for Palestinians. In the original comics, Sabra interacts with Arab characters who are portrayed as being misogynistic, violent and antisemitic. We have every right to be concerned about how Arabs will be portrayed in relation to Sabra’s character. Her origin story centers on the death of a Palestinian child. Sabra’s character has used racist, anti-Muslim stereotypes and dehumanizing depictions of Palestinians-all while glorifying Israeli military violence. It’s not just the name or the timing, but the fact that the Sabra and Shatila massacre itself was led by a Mossad-linked militia under Israeli military control. We provided facts and gave our thoughts on the topic. I’m not sure why you’re accusing us of propaganda. Just because you don’t agree with us doesn’t mean you get to accuse us of propaganda or of being antisemitic. Thank you for watching and commenting. Have a nice day.

And later the growth which Sabra had as a character because of it. Also about the Mossad-Linked Militia thing. No, that's just propaganda, Maybe not from you since you haven't deleted my comment, But from other sources. It's even written in Wikipedia as a protected article that it was a Militia of the Lebanese Forces. The whole point of the outrage was that the IDF didn't stop the massacre when it could've. There was public outrage in Israel, And the politicians in charge literally were ousted from position because of it.
@@dragondaniel0574 I already explained to you why we have a problem with this character and the character’s name. The Christian Phalange militia in Lebanon was Mossad-linked. Hey, Steve had Red Skull, now Sam gets Sabra.
I'm from Israel, I saw you yesterday on the news in Israel about Sabra, a superhero, they said you were anti-Semitism and persecuted Jews
Ofc they do, they call anyone who exposes their racism anti semetic 😂
Before you confuse things, check the facts

First of all sabra is the name of the cactus fruit סברס, second, marvel never said anything about Arabic speakers or Muslims being terrorissts.
