I wept after hearing the first few notes of Traumerei played by Horowitz, this is more tender and more sweet. Her touch and timing is so moving. Each note evokes an authentic emotion.
She plays with a soul that reminds me that all of us are part of it. Thank you for telling me that being human can be a glorious condition!
Never heard it that way, even not from Horowitz! So natural, so real! Her piano and she, a unit.

저 매일 1시간 30분씩 걸리는 출퇴근시간에 지하철에서 손열음님 연주 들어요~ 오늘도 아침엔 모차르트 피아노협주곡 21번 들었는데 지하철에서 춤추고 싶은걸 꾹참았어요ㅋㅋ 앞으론 더 많은 연주를 보며 출퇴근하겠네요! 사랑해요 손!열!음!!

Yeol Eum Son is a world class pianist because her timing seems so smooth and well paced it’s as if she read composers mind. She has amazing relaxed key board touch like Andras Schiff and Horowitz.

@@michieldemarey Wrong. I agree with James. And when I say she is excellent, then she is excellent. There's no but etc. She's up there with the best. That's because her piano playing is second to nobody.
@@michieldemarey You're wrong unfortunately. Or fortunately. I understand the essence of music very well. Yeol Eum Son understands music and the essence of music extremely well. And there are lots of interesting elements associated with her 'interpretation'. If you can't see or understand that - then you need lessons from her, or lessons from me.
The played the Träumerei so beautiful. I had tears in my eyes.
That’s the next piece I will learn after I am done with the Moonlight sonata.

I have commented a lot on Yeol Eum Son and how she has raised the level of piano playing in today's world. I have only one important comment on this interpretation of Schumman's Kinderszenen. She takes her time over each part and imparts a perfect emotional feeling of childhood when experiencing or indulging in each subject matter. In short she makes me want to listen to Schumann and through her I can see the scenes from childhood he obviously saw and remembered. No other pianist in the 67 years since I first heard Kinderszenen has ever done this. And done it so beautifully.
Very perceptive comment. Yeol Eum's sensitivity and depth of interpretation of this and other works are spell-binding. I can listen to her all day and would if I had the time. That's an odd thing to say for a man approaching his 88th birthday, yet it's true.

Yes she has a rare talent with her finger control and timing. Her exquisite timing separates her from other world class pianists. She doesn’t play piano; she sings piano.
Each to their own. She's an incredible artist and an important pianist today - and rightly so.
However, prior to listening to this, I was just spellbound by Horowitz and his unique artistic vision. For me, Son's felt underwhelming and the tone sometimes one-dimensional (could just be the sound recording technique). Maybe if I listen to this again in a few months (or years) I will feel differently again.
So delicate, so sweet, so childish, music from heaven played with love! Thank you dear Yeol Eum Son!

My favorite!
I hold this as one of the most loveable piano works. Away goes all the exaggerations typical in romantic piano works. What stays is the intimacy in feelings, the true openeyed curiosity about a world still not experienced, and the musical expressions of this hesitating curiosity. I believe these feelings can be shared even if we are up in ages. Yeol Eum Sons playing for sure makes this longing true.

클래식에 대해 아무것도 모르던 제가 우연히 광주에서 18년도 손열음의 아마데우스 모차르트 협주곡 21번듣고 푹빠져 피아노 지금까지도 신나게 배우고 있네요.

That's why your interpretation always has a special charm, you give effect and color to the keys, everything you play sounds brilliant. I like what you said in an interview: "That we musicians are serving music, not the other way around" . You said very correctly. Maestro Conductor Sergiu Celibidache said in an interview: "In music there is something that can touch you where not even the deepest thought can do it and that carries you in a moment when everything you feel is YOU".
