Now THIS is the type of hard-hitting and extremely relevant historical exposé we all yearn for
Thinking of making it my thesis, due end of March
We shall catch mice in the attic, we shall catch mice in the basement and catch mice in the kitchen, and we shall never, never surrender
Jesus, this is the most British thing ever
Doesn't Japan have a rail line owned by a cat or something?
Jolly good .
When he said that the chief mouser made a statement on returning to his official duties at 10 Downing I was expecting the statement to be, "Meow".
"Vermin is a continuous problem in Downing Street." - yes, yes, but what about the animals, Mark?
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 my sentiments exactly
Or the aging grand looking only on the outside 24/7 infrastructure being served by so many more and more low paid domestic help employees?
The usual intro theme whilst showing a cat stalking around. Purely menacing
I know I enjoyed it.
I had to rewatch the introduction. Hilarious
I freaked out!
Haha... the best juxtaposition. So dramatic.
Cat.... Jagdpanther same diff lol so cool awesome job Mark
I love how Humphrey is the controversial and psychopathic one - you always need one of those in a line of succession.
"Peta proved to be idle, ill-suited to the job, and not toilet-trained.
Peta was quietly retired to the country by the government for fear of taking other Minister's job's."
Ouch!!!!!!!
"Never, in the field of vermin control, was so much owed by so many to so few."
Good one.
That Churchill impression .....
Amazing
“Nelson was the bravest cat I’ve ever knew.” -Winston Churchill
Good to know that even cats don’t like Cherie Blair.
LOL - one wiff and they knew that pussy was bad😛
after humfry’s war crimes he fled to the royal medical college where he was captured and brought back to face his tribunal.
Poor humfry... But he will be remembered and loved as a hero unlikely this ugly wife. Anyway It was better for Tony to choose Humfry
The...Churchill...Impression...
I can't breathe for laughing so hard
XD 🇬🇧
Making a pointless glamorous sounding title to a mundane job complete with giving him a Union Jack bowtie is the most British thing ever. I approve.
I wonder what Trump made of the situation?
6:42 "But a thorough investigation found Humphrey to be innocent..."
Judge: "How do you plead Mr. Humphrey?"
Humphrey: "Meow."
😂😂😂
I love how indignant Palmerston looks as he is being escorted away by the Constable @10:00
That cat is such a badass walking along to that opening music.
It must be a big scandal when 2 respectful British Government Employees battaling to the death on the street and police have to get involve 🤣🤣🤣
Can we all appreciate Mark's impression of Churchill talking about a cat?
"During which time rats were actually filmed scurrying along Number 10's front steps"
Now now, that's no way to talk about cabinet ministers!
Wow, "putting down" employees once they've retired is a bit rough
Paul Dunai they were probably sick and dying
Well you know the whole pension thing. He's gone and there was nothing we could do. NYC 😎
This story is one of the most interesting and funny I have seen.
The pic of that cat being escorted out loool
Peter II was assassinated, being run over by a Soviet car.
Russian people love cats. Each family has one or two cats. We feed street cats which are hiding in the bottom of appartment buildings. Stop talking something what you do not know in a right way. Do you know about Kazan 🐱? Where is statue for him in Kazan.
Chief Mouser has longer service than most prime ministers; and I daresay more productive in honest service 😽
Lol. That picture of the cat being escorted out made me laugh for ten minutes. Great vid.
Everyone who owns a cat understands that gentle little boot to the backside at 5:29 - “Do you want to go inside or not?!”
"Nelson is the bravest cat i've ever known" W.C. 🤣
lmao if the cat waits at the door, the policeman has to ring the doorbell 😂
Those are da rules.
"and the police had to escort him out" im dying xd
Love how seriously he’s taking this
Mark, you're the best narrator in the world today
"Having savaged an innocent duck"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LOVE IT !!!!!!!!
This is great, I can tell you enjoyed making this one.
My own Chief Mouser Molly also enjoyed this one!
Brilliant loved it.
My Chief Mouser Mitz is under house arrest for fighting. We had to take her to the vet for her battle wounds and it cost us $500 bucks. Totally worth it, but I don't wanna do it again.
I don't have chief mousers. I have chief annoyers.
Humphrey was accused of a crime he didn't commit and went on the lamb. I'm now picturing a James Bond style espionage thriller where he fights to restore his good name.
If Theresa May had left Brexit negotiations to Larry, she might still be in office today.
That Moronic smile by Mrs Blair holding Humphrey is where the Joker got his satanic smile from.
The intro music with the cat walking is priceless.
I laughed so much hearing the intro video with a cat on the screen😂😂😂😂
Kaiser of Germania in which the intro video was intended for WW2 and/or Cold War topics Mein Kaiser
Can I note that nearly all of the Downing Mousers are adopted Strays? If it's good for the Prime Minster it's good for you, so Get down to a shelter! XD
Humphrey looks like he's going to mess somebody up.
WILBERFORCE! That’s the best name I’ve ever heard for a kitty
Love that there are cat scandals.
I love how Larry's life is so documented.
While working at the Home Office during the sixties my mother was responsible for signing off on Peta's allowance. Apparently that cat was as bad as her reputation suggests and had a habit of peeing on official government documents!
Rest in Peace Humphrey, 9th Chief Mouser, we'll never see his like again.
Dr. Felton, we need a serious UPDATE!!!!!
This was the most British thing that I have ever experienced.
Farming and civilization would not have been possible without cats protecting grain. Great mews.
I have to laugh at the dramatic music with videos of the cat prowling around.
"Okay, you are responsible for keeping mice and rats away."
"Meow?"
"They keep doing harm to our government. Keep'em down. Do you understand now?"
"Meow!"
"Good - wait, _what do you want with the gun?!"_
mediocre man most cats don't catch rats. However, rats won't go where cats are present.
Cat be like meow meow meow * sips tea * Translation= (Yes sir i shall shoot the german maus)
I imagine this was how it went down with Humphrey
Larry is old now 😔 keep fit sir
"Vermin is a continuous problem in Downing Street" (6:13) Typical British understatement.
Me: It's soon 2020
Mark: Lets talk about cats
When you hear that intro music, you know there's a good chance you're going to get a story about menacing big cats: Panthers, Tigers, Humphrey...
Whoa, the stand-off between Larry and Palmerston made me chuckle.
When I was a kid we lived in an apartment that had vermin, we got a cat that really cleaned up the problem. He was my super hero.
Loved the Bobby ringing the door bell then kind of booting it in when it decided to take it's time!
"Accused of having savaged an innocent duck" lol!
"Peta was eventually quietly retired to the country". Eeuuh, Mark there's something you should know...
The dry British humor [humour] is appreciated.
Amazing. No mention of any sordid tales of sexual encounters by any of the cats! Government cover up? Or a 'fix'? Histories mysteries.
There was the Humphrey/Robin scandal as well Larry vs Palmerston.
It's such a great tradition. That picture of Palmerston being escorted out is fantastic 😆 I do love being British 😊
This is extremely enjoyable, I think we speak for all of us when we'd like to see more light hearted but historical videos like this in the future~
6:48 Humphrey later said that he was just following orders.
All Hail Larry, Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office of the
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland!
This is hands down the best episode ever!
I want a movie called Chief Mouser now. This is to funny yet intriguing.
How is this not in The Crown?
More Churchill voice impersonations, please!
At least you can count on one trustworthy individual in Downing Street, Larry.
Finally! My girlfriend actually watched Mark Felton with me. It took cats to do it, but it happened. Good work, Mark.
My Chief Mouser is a 23 pounds big cat with 29 claws 8-7-7-7. Not fat but a big Pixie-Bob cat. Nothing survive to him. When there is a flying bug in the ceiling he cannot reach he cries like a baby.
I must say, being a cat person myself, this was pure genius. Top 5 video to say the least. Thank you.
Not a bad ending video for this decade, Happy new year Mark, hope you keep filling us with knowledge this year too!
Half the World is already in January
"Went to live in the country" yeah that's what my parents said when my dog died.
I'm still waiting for Peter IV, the dynasty must live on!
Cats are adorable and hilarious, and extremely british. I think Britain is probably the most cat loving country in the world (perhaps only Turkey can beat them)
Thats a very old way of seeing it, most young people hate/dislike cats in Britain i would say.
He actually covered this topic in all seriousness. I love it.
Acused of savaging an innocent duck, I lost it idk how mark kept a straight face.
Happy new year unofficial history channel.
Also still better than cats the not so musical movie.
The only honest men to gracy the halls of downing Street
The theme music goes really good with Larry montages
Humphrey was straight up THUG!! 🤣
Aww look at his big bow 🎀. Bless his heart
This documentary deserves an award. Hilariously intriguing. 😂💯🔥🤗😻
Wilberforce, what a name!
this is the hard hitting investigative journalism i need
One more reason to love the UK - cats in goverment office. The best!
Ah yes my favorite animal, the cat! Best video of the week! 👏👏👏
The Churchill impression is priceless
A 1 pence spending bill for the upkeep of the cat.
"Honey... you'll never guess the law we passed today" LMAO
The dramatic war music fits Larry prowling about perfectly 🥰
The bloody Blairs. Another life lost due to those horrors.
Classic David Cameron, bring in a Cat from a poor background (Larry) for an important position just to seem pro-social mobility, before quickly replacing him with a toff cat. Nepotism at its finest. This is why our country is running like a rusty clock.
Only Brits can have a war history on cats :)
I’m anxiously awaiting updates to the Larry/Palmerston feud. Hopefully an armistice can be arraignment can be brokered.
This hit two of my loves: history and cats!
“Peter the III?” You’ve cat to be kitten me meow!
This is one of your best videos. The intro music over a cat running around, the Churchill impression, the serious tone. A true masterpiece
Literally the most English thing on the web.
This is the most British video that I have seen this year! 🇬🇧
