    Thanks Scott! I just replaced the broken switch and it was a lot easier after watching your video. I managed to access the switch by just taking off the front panel so it was very quick. Not sure I would have been able to remove the front panel without your help.

      You can remove the panel right above the washer and then remove the screws holding on the control panel to get to the start button.

    Thanks Scott! My wash won’t spin or drain water, what would you recommend if the spin lights green and lid lock is red - there’s a very light hum like something isn’t working but nothing is spin? I did a board check and the water runs to fill. I’m trying to save money as I don’t have much to afford anyone to fix this myself. Thank you! Hopefully I have enough info for some idea

      @@XxPeytonTurnerXx in my case I didn't realize the belt underneath the tab had fallen off. I replaced it a bunch of times with the same belt but apparently it was stretched out enough that I eventually bought a new one. Lmk if you need instructions on installing the new drive belt but I found that on YT as well.

    Hi…we have the GE w/d combo like this one but, I think it might be a newer version. It doesn’t have just a spin cycle, it’s rinse and spin. It doesn’t spin. How do I fix this??? It’s also in a closet that is hard to get to anything behind or on the sides. It still locks and rinse and wash, but no spin. And I had sheets and bath mats in it…..still. It happened on friday. So…I would love to be able to finish this load……should I take out whats in it 1st??? And I hope you can help. It’s so hard to find help. Michelle

    Scott, my washer will start to agitate or spin but quickly stops and flashes wash & lid lock lights. Ran diagnostic and We do get an error code which suggests motor block. We found motor wire chafing, yellow and white wires, repaired them, and the washer continues to have the same problem. The entire tub assembly was replaced only a year ago. It’s at our beach house so it’s not used that much. None of the rubber straps are connected and the tub seems to wildly wobble around when spin/agitate starts. Fills hot and cold, pumps and transmission engages fine in diagnostic mode. Thanks.

    hi I have a model # GUD24ESMM1WW will only spin and makes a loud griding noise. I pulled the from panel off and looks like the mode shifter accuator is half way down grinding the clutch while the pulley is spinning. I put in a new accuator and now it only spins cause the clutch is always in the engaged position. The motor will spin until smoke starts coming out of the motor. Still no agitation or water filling? Any idea of what is the problem?
    Thanks

Lol) I feel like epithet the tachometer is the problem or the drum itself also seems waaaay too loose. The two wires that are flowing from the lid lock to the "magnetic" part are maroon and yellowgold...these are the two that were severed. Can spin cycle work without this connection?

    • @ScottTheFixItGuyChannel
      @ScottTheFixItGuyChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Colleen,
      Great question.
      I would not try to use the spin cycle without that.
      I would just buy a new one from Amazon and splice it into the old wires and it will work good again.
      Usually those wires get ripped due to the washing machine being overloaded where it bounces around too much and rips the wires.
