Thanks for this. I was able to identify the issue was with the drain pump. I disconnected it (after spilling water everywhere of course) to find that it was clogged from a sock. Seems if you load the machine too much clothes can start going into random components :)
I have a new GE stack washer/dryer. When I put it on Bulk to wash it will not fill with water to cover the clothes over 1/4 full but it fills to the top during rinsing. How do it fix that. I can hardly put any clothes in my washer

How do I increase the water level in my stacked Whirlpool washer dryer combo? On the large setting, the water leve is only 1/2 way full. That doesn't provide enough water for the clothes to be cleaned and rinsed properly.
You just saved us a LOT LOT of $ - the washer in our stacked wouldn't fill, just kept draining. GE troubleshooting sez "Reset" but they don't tell you HOW. I went into diag mode and then unplugged it, that did the trick. Wife thinks I'm some sort of genius.
Mine is leaking once it is in wash mode. It is not coming from the water lines hooked up in the back of the machine. It is coming from underneath. Any suggestions? And I am careful not to overload.

Hi. My g.e. stackable has a problem spinning. It takes 5-6 attempts at spinning, before it takes off, and keeps spinning. Otherwise, it makes several revolutions and stops, and restarts. Number 3 in diagnostic mode comes up with a spin code.when I turn to spin only ,the mode changer engages the gears , washer starts to spin then after a few seconds, machine shuts down .

Dear Mr. Bearded Guy, Want to start off letting you know I am a retired divorced woman on a pretty tight budget, That being said, I am having trouble with my GE stackable and after watching countless videos (yours are the best)I have learned how to diagnose. The issue seems to be when in diagnosis mode and clicked to heavy after a few minutes it works but when it is switched to light, it does nothing. The rinse and spin lights are green. My understanding is that the problem is with the drain pump. It does not appear to be clogged from looking at it (unless I need to take those hoses off to know for sure) Is it possible for you to post a video on how to change the drain pump? But agitation not working and when it is on position 9, water fills into tank, but agitation not starting and suddenly the “wash” light illuminates and when I push the start button, it agitates just once and then “wash” light starts to blink. All kind of codes on ours for 2 years, 2 units..AW. Finally found it. Tore it apart, checked all harnesses, sensors, no issue. Pulled it out check hoses, no problem. THEN, Pulled it out a little further...OMG, Installed with drain line put in about 2 feet!. THIS results in a long fill. During fill it siphons into drain if drain is lower than water level, and the unit times out on fill. Wiretied the drain line so it is only about 4 inch in...NO PROBLEMS NOW 2 YEARS... expcept the black marks from the crappy dryer seal. Clean the dryer guides about 1 year. I'm hoping new shrouds.
How long should the agitator test run for? I ran the diagnostic, it agitated 3-4 times, and then stopped and emptied the water. Outside of diagnostics mode the machine does not agitate at all, which is weird that it did just now. Wondering if the fact that it only did so 3-4x means the test is a "failure"

Hats off to you, sir! Keep up the great work. Our washer was stuck locked and wouldn't let us begin a new cycle. We had clothes in there getting reallllly smelly. Going into diag mode > clearing codes > back out of diag mode.. that made it work again and be able to start a new cycle! Cheers
Take the angle panel off above the washer lid there's two visible screws then you take a putty knife and stick it under the lid in the front about two inches from each corner and push in in the front panel will pop off I just figured this out so good luck with y'all
What about these exact same washer dryer stacks BUT there’s an Ethernet port underneath the washer knob? Holding the buttons and spinning the knob to 6 o’clock does nothing on these ones. Is there a special device that you plug into the Ethernet port?!?!?!
Great video! Just had the agitator fail to move in water during wash cycle but makes loud sound like the engine is tryingl We suspect this is the second time the bottom of the agitator will be chewed up (it's just cheap plastic) by the strength of the steel teeth of the engine in contact with it. I watched your video! Great video! However I cannot get any of the lights to come on at all. It’s as if it does not have power running to it at all. The dryer does work fine. The only thing I wasn’t sure about the video was how can you tell if something is not working correctly? I am the " water boy" on my GE combo machine. I put the water and the combo does the rest. It' s new, only 2 months and the place went bankrupt. The washer "sprits" water 2 or 3 seconds and nothing more. I opened the lid, placed a magnet so it " feels" as if its closed and use my garden hose to fill up and to rinse too . It washes, spins, etc... Maybe I should I reset the water level ?? Is there a code for knowing the level and that' s why its not filling up? Please help !!! Thank you
not drying at all. The washer part will wash, but won't drain. If you set it on drain and spin, it will, but only if the dryer is on as well. I'm thinking it's possessed. 🤷
Thanks a lot! I am following through your video since my drain pump was not working. But when I put this in diagnostic mode at knob on 8 oclock, it makes a vibrating noise and nothing else. So I am not sure if mine is just stuck as I can feel that the drain pump is getting hotter. Also, the color of wiring between yours and mine are opposite. Left side black and white right side orange

Washer pauses all the time and you Have to hit start button to continue cycle. Random thing. No codes. “12278219” had same issue. No fix noted on entry... I replaced the board and start switch on panel to no avail.. any ideas?? THANKS
The White Spin shifter…. You say it should slowly move down. … mine did not appear to move at all as the washer filled. Then the motor started. BUT, the white shifter still looks like it’s in the raised position. It’s definitely not making contact with the black gear looking thing below it. I may need to change the water inlet connection. One of connections is ragged as someone tried to attach a hose and I guess they couldn't get it to work. Do I have to replace it, or can I clean it up/ sand it down a bit?

Same washer it wouldn't powerup the washer. It does not power up anything on the washer it did not matter what setting. Haven't tried your Diagnostics method. What I found was hold the start button then and turn the washer knob and ornate agrees and the light should light up

My is similar to this model and my washer smells is there any way to clean it out other than running bleach through it, vinager and backing soda and a cleaning tab did not fix the smell!
So the red solenoid that engages the clutch to the motor fly wheel isn’t activating. But if I put it in diagnostics mode and then turn it to 7 o’clock push go the three functions all work even the solenoid will push the clutch engagement and it will work but then when I take it out of diagnostics mode and just try to do a normal small load the red solenoid will not engage the clutch fly wheel. So it acts like the motherboard or the brain of the washer is detecting something and not allowing that solenoid to engage. Has anyone else had this issue and what was the fix?

I have a GE top low bottom washer. The dryer on the top seems like the drum is loose. It makes a lot of squeaking still heats up and everything.
While doing the diagnostic test for the hot/cold water valve how do you know if it's bad, my washer is not filling with water.

My dryer tumbles but does not heat. Is there a reset button or a process to reset the dryer? Or maybe a fuse...

The only thing I wasn’t sure about the video was how can you tell if something is not working correctly? I’m going to go try and push the buttons simultaneously again to see if I can get something to light up. Thank you so much for your help.
I have the exact same issue: Start a cycle, shortly after, the cycle stops, no lights, washer unresponsive...did you ever solve this? Was it a bad control board?

I am the " water boy" on my GE combo machine. I put the water and the combo does the rest. It' s new, only 2 months and the place went bankrupt.
The washer "sprits" water 2 or 3 seconds and nothing more.
I opened the lid, placed a magnet so it " feels" as if its closed and use my garden hose to fill up and to rinse too .
It washes, spins, etc...
Maybe I should I reset the water level ??
Is there a code for knowing the level and that' s why its not filling up?

not drying at all. The washer part will wash, but won't drain. If you set it on drain and spin, it will, but only if the dryer is on as well. I'm thinking it's possessed. 🤷
Thanks a lot! I am following through your video since my drain pump was not working. But when I put this in diagnostic mode at knob on 8 oclock, it makes a vibrating noise and nothing else. So I am not sure if mine is just stuck as I can feel that the drain pump is getting hotter.
Also, the color of wiring between yours and mine are opposite. Left side black and white right side orange
is there a test to see if the lid lock switch and lid magnetic are good?...everything works on mine except spin and quick rinse, the red lid lock light never comes on....thanks...
I just bought this exact model and everything works except water doesn't come out, no mater what mode I put it in to wash on. Only had it 3 days so lines are all new with no clogs. I am beyond confused. Any ideas what this could be?
Washer pauses all the time and you Have to hit start button to continue cycle. Random thing. No codes. “12278219” had same issue. No fix noted on entry... I replaced the board and start switch on panel to no avail.. any ideas?? THANKS
The White Spin shifter…. You say it should slowly move down. … mine did not appear to move at all as the washer filled. Then the motor started. BUT, the white shifter still looks like it’s in the raised position. It’s definitely not making contact with the black gear looking thing below it. Is this a problem or is this how it’s supposed to run? Thank you.
No clue if you'll see this in time, but on number 5, I have rinse, spin and lid locked lit up. Does that mean I just have a different model than you?
My unit is barely two years old. And I am single, so there is not a whole lot of rush. All of the sudden it just started malfunctioning . When I try to wash a load and the water is draining, the drain pump continues to drain when there is no water whatsoever and won’t stop until I machine. When I plug it back in hours later it’s still trying to drain. And there is not a drop of water in the machine.
I got it working in between somehow for about a month and then now it is doing that same thing again but before that the load only switches back-and-forth to wash for about 30 seconds, and then it drains off the water! My clothes never get washed, and it is waste my soap! I cannot put them in the dryer because they’re sopping wet. The spin cycle never went on, but even if I put them in the dryer, they are still dirty. if there was a recall on the model and serial number but I could not find it though. I’m not sure if I missed it or not.?

I may need to change the water inlet connection. One of connections is ragged as someone tried to attach a hose and I guess they couldn't get it to work. Do I have to replace it, or can I clean it up/ sand it down a bit?

I have this unit and the dryer won't shut off. I was thinking maybe a bad humidistat when it's in auto mode but it won't time out either when you do a timed dry. Any ideas?
This model is a repairman's dream. Like a money pit car that helps a car mechanic put his children through college. I bought mine in March 2021 brand new. It is fcking garbage.
Opened up the front panel found the tech sheet. getting into codes is hold start button only.
problem = washer stops after wash cycle. door lock clicks three times and , ...boom nothing.
turn to spin cycle it drains and spins.
any thoughts?
I have a ge stackable won't spin or agitate someone told me the board was bad so I replaced it that didn't fix it can you tell me what to try next or what might cause it. Repair technicians won't come to where I live so I have to figure it out on my own can you give me any help. It would be greatly appreciated.
I have this model stackable. I am missing a lot of socks and one time before when it was serviced, we found straggler socks in the bottom of the unit. How do you open the front of the unit to get to those socks in the bottom of the inside? In this video, it starts with the panels already removed. thanks

@@aatomita On bottom edge of front panel, two screws near floor - take those out, slide panel down 1/2 inch, pull forward.
At the top front edge about an inch from the side. Put a screw driver in and push. Do on both sides

Same washer it wouldn't powerup the washer. It does not power up anything on the washer it did not matter what setting. Haven't tried your Diagnostics method. What I found was hold the start button then and turn the washer knob and ornate agrees and the light should light up
Hello, I would like to ask how to clean or remove the lint inside of that grill? Is there any better way aside to vacuum it out the lint? Can I remove the grill? Thanks
My is similar to this model and my washer smells is there any way to clean it out other than running bleach through it, vinager and backing soda and a cleaning tab did not fix the smell!
how do you fix the agitation on this unit? Mine will only go one way and will not agitate
So the red solenoid that engages the clutch to the motor fly wheel isn’t activating. But if I put it in diagnostics mode and then turn it to 7 o’clock push go the three functions all work even the solenoid will push the clutch engagement and it will work but then when I take it out of diagnostics mode and just try to do a normal small load the red solenoid will not engage the clutch fly wheel. So it acts like the motherboard or the brain of the washer is detecting something and not allowing that solenoid to engage. Has anyone else had this issue and what was the fix?

Hey, my machine starts to wash. But then it stops. I bought the piece from the lid. That it was broken. And the other piece that locks the lid, and it still does the same thing, like it will starts to wash, but then it stopped, I tried to reset it, but I can't, and I did same thing u did in this video, but instead it started to take the water. And this washer I bought like 4 years ago. What can I do to reset it?
