    This part of the game, this dream, is such a clever and beautiful way to make the game more fun, but also it is a perfect metaphor for modern life. Daycare, elementary school, secondary school, university, workplace. We are stuck in this dream, where our actions and the result of our actions are determined by the system or the people who run the system. We are told: "Do A, don't do B. Make sure C is a part of your life while trying to avoid D. Also, you better save time for E, otherwise, F will happen" and we, who are literally programmed by reward/punishment methods to listen and obey "authority", from the moment we could understand and speak, just take it as reality and a "right way" of living. Never actually questioning the process or results of the process. Until, just like Jessy in the 2nd phase, we start to feel like our lives are empty and something is wrong with our lifestyle, goals, and actions. But even then, all those years, all that sweat and tears, all those sacrifices we made to be who we are, to be able to stand where we stand, we don't want it to be all for nothing, so we keep living this nightmare, trying to numb that feeling that is telling us something is wrong. Trying to avoid those thoughts in our heads by gluing our faces to screens and consuming cheap, accessible entrainment. But just like Jessy, we need to take CONTROL of our own lives and build them around our OWN NEEDS AND VALUES, not the needs and values we've been taught since childhood. Only then we can wake up from this nightmare and live fulfilled, and happy lives, filled with meaning that is not foreign to us.
    This is why I consider this game a masterpiece. Is it fun, entertaining, intriguing, and original with just the right amount of complexity. But the game itself is also a dark satire of modern society and corporate/governmental systems. Which makes it so much more, than a game. I would love Remedy to keep adding content to this universe. New games, books, comics, movies. Anything. Universe of CONTROL is so entertaining, in my humble opinion.

    For Jesse, the realizations in dreams have been about self-overcoming, Janitor to Director. I wonder what will happen to Dylan when he'll wake up. A guy who was supposed to be the director and now is aware of multiple realities.

    One thing about Jesse's Hiss Vision that's easy to miss. Dylan TOLD her exactly what would happen in it. In one of his 'I had a dream' speeches to her, he describes seeing her in exactly the situation she finds herself in. It makes me wonder if he either knew what vision she would create for herself...or if he created it for her himself.

    I can't help but feel bad for Jesse. She was thrust into this world of chaos and forced to take this role of leadership she didn't want. All she wanted was her remaining family back. Her brother. Lord knows what will happen with him. Jesse really is a tragic character when you think about it. This giant paranormal/supernatural event happens. She loses her hometown, her friends, her parents. She spends most of her life thinking she's crazy. Its sad. I can actually relate to Jesse a lot.

Which is another example that her leadership abilities being present in her just hidden. Hiss nightmare was supposed to be it - very negative experience with a purpose to imprison but with escaping came positive side effect - awakening of her as a leader. in my opinion, hra was not ceased to function entirely during hedron goes down.... hiss is a resonance base entity and we know hedron was so weak that's why dr darling create massive hra to protect hedron.. we know dr darling found frequency range but he didn't know about it so much till Polaris told him how to create hras.....for block a frequency you must create 180-degree opposite phase that specific frequency with ((higher power))... the second part is key to block that frequency individually. Jesse was protected by Polaris bcz her brain trained during hiss invasion when she was a child Dylan was same too both know-how be conscious to fight with hiss..and hiss as like dark presence try to find flaw part of ppl mind to tarp them and use them for his purpose(dark presence take hostage in physical form but hiss as resonance take minds ). for jesse was we saw for emilly should be normal person stop research about the new thing for arish maybe be dead or loser in battle every single time for northmore lose his power collected from board i think they just saw another form of nightmare what will happen if hra was not produced..(for better explaining what i said we have problem with interference satellite communication over 15 years. in some place of city they send high power signals to block some channels in during work time its so high and block entire channel audio and video but other time its just pulse we still can see or hear that channel but in very bad shape of it) now think hiss is that channel and hra/polaris is interference that .. hra with polaris have higher power block hiss completely but both can protect you to not get lost completely jessse get lost bcz she just was with polaris and her trained mind like dylan both have a choice to choose path during that dylan not found path getting in coma after cleanse by jesse but she found her polaris be free ...this is why enemy have orange health bar, not red one and ID had yellow even they have another story ... if its so harsh to read I'm soo sorry man. She did not free herself from the Hiss illusion. Ahti was there, cleaning... we only see Ahti cleaning when something is actively attacking. In this case I believe that Ahti was not part of her illusion, Ahti was there fighting the Hiss to give Jesse a chance to find herself, his assistant must not be taken. Ahti mopping the floors is just an euphemism for fighting some other force or creature. We don't see Ahti's true form or what he really does, only a representation we can comprehend. He is an extra-dimensional entity like Polaris, the Hiss or the Board, but he may be even stronger than those. Ahti may be the personification of the Oldest Hose or the source of the place of power... anyway I strongly believe he freed Jesse from the Hiss and helped her find the remnant of Polaris resonance (maybe even Polaris herself) inside her

    • @GamingUniversityUoG
      @GamingUniversityUoG  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree. Jessie has two things going for her. A sense that she will fail people and needing a place to belong. She even mentions in international dialogue that, "...she doesn't know me. Doesn't know how I fail people." Just suggesting she should be in charge brings back memories of her perceived shortcomings. But the Bureau becomes a place for her to belong. Everyone outside the House thinks she is crazy and this place accepts her. One side of her is pulling her to stay whole the other is pushing back. The Hiss Dream puts this to the test and makes her choose to take care of the bureau and it's people. Helping to overcome her fear of failure.
