Lovely car, surprised to see Jeff Krosnoff's name on the car. Had no idea he'd ever raced RS500's during his time in Japan another great young racing talent taken too soon.

Just watched the inter-tec 1989 with this car, absolutely blew them all away 😁 even the calsonic skyline couldn't keep up and blew a tyre. Fantastic car!! Great video, a legendary car!!!
When the Gibson Motorsport R32 skylines were racving in Australia they expressed interest in racing in the Japanese touring car penultimate round, but were strongly *ahem* discouraged by Nissan.. I guess because they knew how well the Australian cars went and didnt want to be shown up on their home turf.. This was when the Japanese economy was going gangbusters and inflation was thru the roof, and the conversion rate was absolutely mental from AUD to YEN and apparently it cost Gibson Motorsport 1 million dollars in parts from NISMO to build the first 2 cars, they were really lucky to get the Cigarette sponsorship because the next years budget increased threefold. And no doubt thats why they started building their own engines and making their own parts partly due to the price, but mostly because they were breaking the nismo stuff and thats another reason the Japanese didn't want them racing over there.
Really enjoy watching these videos and learning about the racing, so thanks for continuing to make them. Would make for a great video if you could ever get Paul together with one of the Australian collectors/enthusiasts/racers!
As like most on here im 37teen and love fucking love the respect people show to cars just yesterday i seen the cleanest GTE astra in belfast almost got a semi at the old txt discs i the file

The JTCC has super fast tracks such as Fuji and ran over many miles. This car also ran against both R31 and R32 Skylines in its day.
