Regarding the second story: Speaking from experience. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you’re choking and you have nobody to help you, stand up, wrap your arms around yourself and grab your back, then throw yourself backwards onto the floor/ground. I had an experience where I choked in public and was fortunately saved by a police officer. I used that opportunity to learn what to do in case it ever happened again. A few years later, I was eating and a piece of steak get stuck in my throat. I threw myself down on my back and it came right out. Choking is extremely scary and maybe this can help somebody if they ever find themselves in the same situation.
I once choked on a fishbone stuck in my throat. My father stuck his finger down my throat & dislodged it. Not many people know that the Heimlich maneuver was named for Dr Heimlich who is the uncle of Anson Williams who played Potsie on Happy Days.

she should have had concern when she saw them in the exact same spot three hours later instead of waiting six. Would still have been too late but that is way too much of a lack of concern. It would be one thing if they had moved a bit.
at least they were together and its not a joke. i do mean that. atleast the last person in there final moments was each other. traumatic or not tis what id want if my death was gonna be traumatic like that.

The deaths of Olivier and Lucien is so painfully poetic and sad. Two best lads going out together, doing what they enjoyed most-but dying trying to save each other. Just heartbreaking. And yes, I understand one was trying to save the other, but I refuse to believe they weren’t trying to work together somehow in their last moments.
I know, it's terrible isn't it can you imagine what was going through his mind. One second looking at his buddy thinking he's going to do the heimlich manouver then seeing him collapse in front of you whilst you're slowly suffocating. Nightmare. Poor lads! I was reading about a young lad of about 12 whose mother went to bed early and let him stay up to watch a tv show and when she came down in the morning he was dead on the floor, the poor lad had choked on a boiled sweet. I can only imagine what his mother went through having kids of my own.

Or maybe you’re being rhetorical bc you don’t like it, in which case I’ll explain that just because a death is described as poetic doesn’t mean the tragedy of it is ignored. It’s like describing a death as brave if they were trying to help another person in the face of danger, or calling a death ironic if the circumstances fit the term. Stop trying to be so easily offended.
FYI - The Coroner investigating the Kaz II incident officially determined that one of the Tunstead brothers (neither of whom were strong swimmers) had his fishing line tangled in the propeller. He attempted to untangle the line, but struggled in the water... his brother then dove in to assist... but also struggled. Des attempted to bring the boat back to assist his friends but was hit by the boom when adjusting the mainsail and also fell into the water. Unable to get back on the boat, all 3 drowned... or were possibly eaten by sharks. The Coroner's findings appear to be based on scant evidence. Rescue Officer Corrie Benson stated that there were multiple knives scattered around the boat, but no blood. The whole situation was definitely strange, dark, and mysterious.

Once at an ancient French church I witnessed a black cat meowing and falling from a wall stories above a field I was in. When I went to check on it, I found it, but it has been there, decomposing for a while. It still doesn’t make sense to me. This story reminded me of that!

Sadly in the UK we just had 4 teenage boys 18yrolds that went camping for a weekend to Wales and when their families realised they couldn't contact them plus they hadn't returned home they got the police to try and locate them. They launched a huge search because Wales is thick forests and narrow roads that were thick fog after a a day or two they were located last week in an upside down car submerged half in water and sadly all the boy's never survived. Four families just before Christmas are now going through unimaginable hurt and I'm heartbroken for them as my son and friends are a year older it worries me with new young drivers when they're driving about at night especially.

what is even more bizarre is that youngsters die everyday in car crashes, even go missing but this story made headline news and was also mentioned in parliament !! what made this stand out above all others? again many car crashes every year involving a car of youngsters but they never get a mention.

I agree, the community of followers on this channel seems great. Other mystery/tragic accident channels have comments filled with considerably more negativity, whereas here there's almost always a good baseline of respect for the tragedy of a situation and those involved, however it may have unfolded. I've been hooked on these types of videos lately, and the respectful delivery as well as the nice community has been making my fall into the rabbit hole less stressful than it usually is when I find myself in this type of video spiral

Probably...1 fell off and they had to rescue..but they were old so had barely stamina and the other driving was old and cant see far...so he kept drving far away and maybe also fell overboard
Even though this case has "pirates" written all over it, I agree with you that the sea is a mysterious place. That's why sailors don't pray on God on Jesus there. It's like they have no power over the sea.

The Lucien & Olivier story is so bizarrely sad. The Kaz II story is really sad as well as these men were just getting ready to start the next chapter of their lives, a.k.a. their golden years but never got to.
I've heard about the Kaz II story about a dozen times before this video but somehow Mr. Ballen makes me feel like this is the first time hearing it. Dude has a legit gift.
I think it's because he's telling it more like he's telling us personally, as though he's right in front of us, rather than just narrating off a script like many others narrate
I've been a fan from the very start. I have stage 4 cancer and spend long stretches in hospital. I honestly don't know what I would do without MrBallen podcast and you tube videos. He makes the time in hospital bearable, makes me feel calm, and his stories are so freaggin good.
Big hugs. Speedy recovery. The Big C can be scary but medical science has thankfully improved since Chris had cancer in the early 2000's. Stay positive and if MrBallen gets you through treatment and bad days then watch. MrBallen is great. Another one is True Crime Recaps however they don't do the spooky, cooky and bleeding What the .. cases like Mr Ballen God's speed on recovery. Stay positive 😊
I shed a tear for Lucien and Olivier and their priceless friendship. Their remarkable and sad story reminds me of a few verses in the Bible, “There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother;” and “Love is stronger than death.”
@@GlotttisI don’t think so, other than the two main characters going to the only pub. The Older of the two wanted nothing to do with the younger and even cut off his own fingers and threw them at the younger ones house. That’s just the start of it.

They don’t have any of the health issues and there isn’t a mutual love for each other (especially since the older one cut his fingers off after threatening to do so if the younger spoke to him again). If you're curious as to what a death loop is (like I was), it's a situation where someone dies but is essentially "re spawned" back into the same situation and dies again, over and over.
Yeah. It's a residual occurrence. Non intelligent. In other words, you can't usually interact with it or it with you but can bleed through to our plane if energies sync just right.
He's part of a TH-cam network. He just reads the script, there's an editor, and story crew. They make over a million dollars a month and it doesn't just go to one person. There is a production team.
There was a murder case from 2004 where a couple were attacked with an axe by their son. The husband suffered devastating head injuries yet the next morning he got up and went through his normal morning routine, making a packed lunch and even loading the dishwasher before he collapsed and died. Basically, what was left of his brain was running on autopilot, going through the familiar routines with no higher thought processes happening. I think something similar happened onboard the Kaz II, whether due to an attack or some kind of medical incident, the person at the helm of the boat was going through a series of familiar tasks based on all his previous sailing experience which is why it appeared as though the boat was under full control but the actions the boat was taking made no sense. I think the three men aboard Kaz II were likely attacked and one of them survived long enough to pilot the boat in this strange, nonsensical fashion before falling overboard due to injury.

Having worked in EMS in the UK for over 40 years, the public would be surprised how many people go missing like this. On the 19/11/2023 a group of four 16-17 year olds were on a camping trip to North Wales during a storm. It was a Sunday morning and they just vanished. Fortunately their bodies were discovered the following Tuesday. The car was upside in a river, they had all drowned.
Yeah the weather is a serious factor for travel. So many people have died this way. Some in the mountains, the desert, snowstorms, etc. Nature controls US, not the other way around. People forget its power

They often change certain things about the Bible in order to trick many into subconsciously believing the church more than they believe in God. The only day the Bible really mentions is Saturday being a resting day, no big work should occur that day of the week.
I absolutely love the Mr. Ballens medical mysteries! My grandmother was a very dedicated nurse and had a soft spot for the strangeness of the medical field. I feel like I'm listening with grandma every time I listen to an episode. ❤
I'm in the computer field myself, but I've always been fascinated with medical stuff, especially how something can go spectacularly wrong sometimes. Like all of a sudden you are allergic to something you have been eating all your life up until that point? Weirdness. Reason I bring up computers is that there is a principle known as "Universal design", and that, the human body truly is not. :)
It's really nice to see a larger creator have merch that's actually fairly priced. It's not cheap, but it's not unreasonable either. $25 for a t-shirt, $55 for a sweater. A lot of creators are kinda crazy with their pricing I find so this is nice to see.

Seriously, I feel like I'd be plagued non stop wondering if they're suffering or not. Both my parents died during the pandemic and whenever I start to feel sorry for myself, I remember to be grateful that they weren't violently ripped from this world!
I get anxiety too but for other reasons like how can 3 people be on a boat and then not on a boat and nobody have seen them and still don’t know what happened or where they are that’s some scary stuff. Even without the added information, just looking at them, I can't help but think that their trip was for other purposes and that their actual itinerary had to be registered somewhere in order to avoid official inquiries. I was thinking this was something more along the lines of a boat armed robbery or hijacking, at more or less around the beginning of their trip, potentially right after shooting those videos. And then after everything that occured had occur, they guessed officials would be looking for them and found a way to abandon the boat before they did. Probably a stupid theory but I can't think of any other reason for people to have very recently been active on that boat and then suddenly not being there. Maybe the criminals had come prepared to scuba-dive off? Idk lol
My wife and i have been watching mr ballen since he first started. Its been a staple with us for the past 4 years and no matter how hard we struggled, mr ballen was there to help calm us down or make the day easier. We remember when he had just a couple thousand followers and it is so cool for the both of us to have seen him come from just a small channel of someone doing what they enjoy and turn into this entire organization and not for profit. We have absolutely loved never missing a video and have so much respect for the person john became.
These videos are getting me through my chemotherapy and radiation treatments, the sickness is real, and I’m so grateful for the videos that Mr. Ballen puts out. They keep my mind calm. Thankyou!
The Captain's log, be it pen and paper or digital, is very important. Every boating trip, unless a day trip, needs to be recorded. Even if it's uneventful, leave a record. Or, like these guys, you leave a mystery.
About the A3 Ghost crash, It makes one wonder if police overlooked the actual crash people reported and another car and person may still be decomposing in the same forrested area.
I think it was some people with a guilty conscience possibly some friend or family member. If not that maybe a coverup by police after things went south trying to get the guy.

9:22 this was one of the scariest moments in my life, I fell asleep with headphones on and at 2 am this woke me up, I could swear it was coming through my window, I freaked out, didn’t know it was the video, I turned all the lights on, I thought that some insane person was messing with me, I grabbed an axe and listened to what’s going on outside, I eventually fell asleep with the axe in my hand but I would violently wake up a few times all sweaty because I thought I heard something, the next day I looked at my watch history and saw that it was from this video, I felt so freaking dumb
The story of the two Frenchmen, while tragic, is also kinda beautiful. Just a couple of blokes who bonded together and died doing what they loved; hanging out in their backyard eating food and drinking wine.
I want to dedicate Mr. Ballens channel to my sweet, amazing, loving Daddy, who passed away unexpectedly on 11/28/23. He was the best Dad to my 3 brothers and I, best husband of 55 years to our Mom, and phenomenal Grandpa to his 4 grandsons. We used to talk about the episodes. I'm gonna miss him so much. I just found you on TH-cam last night and I have been binging! The second one I was I noticed the first comment was a very friendly listener warning not to read the comments before watching due to spoilers. I had read the comments of the first story and did read a few spoilers. So, tempting as it is I don’t read the comments now until after listening to the story. Throughout the comments, it is amazing how many people credit listening to you while attempting to get off drugs. So many are successful because your stories help get them through withdrawal and maintaining their sobriety and there are also the same type of stories from sick and even dying people. This has to make you feel so wonderful to know that you are much more than an entertainer but a great help to so many people! In fact, I am going to use listening to them in hopes that they will help with my PTSD and anxiety from a long battle with chronic pain. I’ll update about that. I’ve now listened to enough to know about your foundation to help victims and their families. I feel like I’ve found not only a fabulous place to listen to interesting stories but also a ministry as well. You just never know how God may use you!! I’m really fascinated! I do have to say that you are a born storyteller but I also really enjoy all the creative, cruel and humorous things that you come up with to do to the like button! 😂😂😂 I’m so glad I ran across your channel and wish you amazing continued success! ❤️

After hearing that first one, there is absolutely nothing else you can do but take up listening to every single story he has ever told. I can relate I'm also in recovery and I watch these all day in my halfway house slash rehab I'm at in Albany NY and I love Mr ballen podcast it's what keeps my mind occupied in the boredom for living a sober life I'm so used to the hustle of street life I find I'm able to live vicariously thru these stories helps keep me occupied and entertained thanks Mr ballen make many many more please

I have driven past where the car had crashed many times, as I lived nearby in Farnham, it was very unnerving and thought it was an urban legend, it was only recently I found out it was a true story. Same here. We used to live in Guildford and drove past this bit of the A3 regularly. Always thought of him when we drove past. Thank goodness those people reported what they saw to the police.
Similar story in Malaysia back in the 80s, its a Volkswagon on a certain curved road, when you see this car do not follow behind it with your car, because it always drive off the curve and crash straight down a cliff

Oh my gosh the A3 ghost car! I have been driving that stretch of road on my daily commute for years and I remember reading about this whole thing in the local news and being very, very creeped out. I still get a bit nervous when I am on that stretch of road on my own in the dark if I have to work late. Thanks for including one of our local legends on your video!
The first story is a great example of a residual haunting. When disturbing and horrible things happen, ones that conjured energy from the fatality, the energy itself may never leave this earth and it replays the same incident over and over. The person passes on, but the energy from the fatality they experienced on earth doesn’t sometimes which is why we’ve heard of these occurring.

Cried at story number two. The best friends. Their souls chose to meet at the ending of their lives for a brief period of joy before they both crossed over. It's like it was meant to be❤😭😭😭
Chris needed his body to be found, so he was able to re-create the night of his accident, and Someone made sure that a lot of people would see it happen this time.

The Kaz II boat story has all the hallmarks of faking their own deaths so that their wives can collect a lucrative insurance policy, then distribute the money to them in another country. Another ship probably picked them up. I would love to know whether the occupants all had life insurance policies in their names and when each policy was opened.
I was thinking something simpler. They were robbed on their boat. The robbers may have at some point sailed out deeper to kill and dump the men, planning to steal the boat itself. They stayed on the boat for a while (hence people spotting it moving around in the same area and hence the signs of recent inhabitation on the boat), but when they saw police approaching, they fled (on a small motorised dinghy or on who knows what, whatever they used to approach the boat in the first place).
I worked in a hospital, often in the ER, while putting myself through college. Over the 4 years, a few paramedics and ambulance drivers have shared about being called to accident scenes, and it ends up that the actual wreck was long ago. These were men of science who didn't easily give in to ghost stories, so for them to describe their experiences in such detail -- yeah, I think that some ghost "stories" are real.
Love your stuff Mr Ballen! That last story was featured on William Shatner’s show Weird Or What. The figuring was that all three men had gone overboard and were unable to get back aboard. They carried out an experiment in a swimming pool with a target moving at the speed of a drifting boat on a calm sea. A very fit Toronto Police rescue swimmer couldn’t catch up. Not an absolute explanation but a strong possibility of what went wrong.
That would make sense, especially since the boat was still on and idling so although it wouldn’t be moving very fast, it would/could have moved faster than they were able to swim. Wonder if they forgot to throw out an anchor or turn the boat off and got hot and decided to take a dip in the water to cool off while fishing and by time they realized their mistake it was too late. But that doesn’t really answer the question why the multiple witnesses 24 or so hours apart saw the boat in the same spot and why it made a sudden sharp turn. Thats assuming that is what the witnesses actually saw. Also why was the sail damaged? A lot of questions we will probably never get an answer to unless somehow they happened to make it to shore and one day get rescued if they are stranded on an island somewhere, which I doubt since I’m sure all the surrounding islands would have been checked, but being that early in the search they may not have made it to one yet and finding 3 people in a big ass ocean definitely isn’t easy. And sorry, long ass response, I know 🤣
@davidbiagi2932 an idling boat doesn't idle like a car, there's no forward momentum from it, the prop is disengaged, but just adrift with the sail unfurled is more than fast enough. As for seeing ot twice, a big circle. Lots of ocean currents near the shore aren't the same as those further out to sea. Get in one, go one way, hit with a cross current, suddenly heads out to sea, hits an open water current, drifts the opposite direction. Same with the reefs, it was traveling with the current, not in a storm or underway which is how most reef strikes occur.
When I was a child, a bunch of us went swimming at a lake off a boat ramp. We were of the age to see who could dive the deepest, so we would take turns diving down at the end of the ramp. We were puzzled that we felt a smooth surface with our feet to push back off of to resurface. We got out for a break, and found chrome trim pieces on the beach, picked them up and put them in the trash can nearby. As we were leaving, some teenagers pulled up and we told them about the smooth surface and showed them the trim. About an hour later we went down to the ramp with adults, the teens had found a truck at the end of the ramp and it was being pulled out of the water. Saw bags of corn in the bed of the truck. Turned out that a hunter had a heart attack the last autumn and drove off the ramp. His skeleton was found in the cab where we had been landing with our bare feet on the roof. Life is the weirdest 😳
Shout out to those officers for getting out to walk along the highway. You hear way too often about people who bleed/starve/freeze to death because their car went too far down a hill and authorities “searching” for them just drove past because they couldn’t immediately see it from the road.
If there's no indication that the missing person went off road, what are the cops going to do? Search the entire planet? It's very easy to say where someone should have searched after the missing person has been found. People wander out into the desert all the time where I am and people love to play backseat quarterback about how easily they would have found the missing person after the corpse is found, as if the local sheriff should have gotten out and walked the entire Mojave.
@@Jess04x03 I'm sure the police would be ok with you pulling on to the hard shoulder to assist. In any case, it's illegal to make a call when driving, so would have to pull over anyway.
Choking to death has to be one of the worst ways to go. One of my former co-workers sold one of his customers a bag of chicken wings which she ultimately choked to death on. He didn't learn about it until after a couple of weeks afterwards and always felt like he was partially responsible because he was the one to talk her into the purchase.
That's so sad. He needs to realize life can be very strange and we have no control over things like that. Tell him that he had no responsibility over what happened and we have enough stress and worry without blaming ourselves when something like that happens. Good luck to you both. 🎉❤

The strangest part of the last story is that they were close to civilization, close to help, so many times. Obviously something went wrong, why didnt they just go to shore? So weird. How awful for their families to have no explanation. It would be interesting to hear what they believe must have happened.
Not so strange if they staged the whole thing to start fresh somewhere else. Putting put to sea, (after emphasizing they were not going to) was a ruse to board another boat away from prying eyes.

The Caz 2 Incident deserves It's own full episode So many things that are wrong with the Investigation, the way the police handled the boat and other Items, the lies told, the owner and previous owner of the boat.

What I'm referring to In my original comment Is how when the authorities first discovered the Kaz 2 they changed their story multiple times and left out that they found a bloody knife. I'm also referring to how the local mob had just killed a kid on something he had seen and also how the local "pirates" were known for stealing ships In that area to haul drugs In. In the last story, I wonder if Des was worried they were in imminent danger on that trip, like bad people were after him or if something happened to him. These were seasoned sailors, yet Des was very concerned about safety & ensured his friends knew the safety & overboard procedures. Maybe, they were attacked & the attackers took over the boat & turned to open water to throw them overboard. Idk. I feel like they should look into Des more & why he was so concerned about safety.
I agree...exactly. I would explain why the boat suddenly turned into open water when they said they would stay near shore and why no bodies were found on board. I wonder if the person that all those witnesses saw piloting the boat really was one of the 3 men...was it somebody else, or was it Dez??? Yeah, it seems strange that Dez would be that overly concerned about safety for veteran sailors like they were.
Yeah, it does seem odd that 3 experienced sailors would be that worried about open water. Unless it was exaggerated for the story. But at the same time, open ocean can actually be a very dangerous place and a 30 footer is not that big of a boat when it comes to the ocean. 5-6 foot seas and you'll have water cresting the bow. My guess is, something happened the very first day and the craft had been on its own since. There could easily have been a scrap of sail on the wheel that gave the impression someone was there and that'd explain why it passed the bay twice, it drifted in a large circle. Same with the reefs, it was caught in the currents and drifted with them through the reefs. Most of the time people would hit a reef was because of bad storms or they were underway, not adrift. As to what happened to the men, well, the sail being torn suggests a storm at some point, if all the were on deck with no safety lines and a wave hit, they're overboard. The evidence that people had been there recently could have been misinterpreted, it's not like weeks had passed after all.
That second story is tragically beautiful. To both have completely random accidental/natural deaths simultaneously has got to be some of the craziest odds ever. It’s kinda beautiful though that neither of them had to live without and grieve each other. 🥺💔
I watch a ton of different random story telling channels but, if the topic is right, Mr Ballen remains one of my favourites. He’s been doing it for years and yet he still gets across the same enthusiasm for every story he tells. The detail and “this is a friend telling me a story in person” vibe help me to imagine the scenarios in my head, which just makes the stories really come to life. Regarding the second story:
Speaking from experience. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you’re choking and you have nobody to help you, stand up, wrap your arms around yourself and grab your back, then throw yourself backwards onto the floor/ground.
I had an experience where I choked in public and was fortunately saved by a police officer. I used that opportunity to learn what to do in case it ever happened again.
A few years later, I was eating and a piece of steak get stuck in my throat. I threw myself down on my back and it came right out.
Choking is extremely scary and maybe this can help somebody if they ever find themselves in the same situation.
I've literally had to reach into my throat a pull a piece of steak out of it.
I once choked on a fishbone stuck in my throat. My father stuck his finger down my throat & dislodged it. Not many people know that the Heimlich maneuver was named for Dr Heimlich who is the uncle of Anson Williams who played Potsie on Happy Days.

The deaths of Olivier and Lucien is so painfully poetic and sad. Two best lads going out together, doing what they enjoyed most-but dying trying to save each other. Just heartbreaking. And yes, I understand one was trying to save the other, but I refuse to believe they weren’t trying to work together somehow in their last moments.
I know, it's terrible isn't it can you imagine what was going through his mind. One second looking at his buddy thinking he's going to do the heimlich manouver then seeing him collapse in front of you whilst you're slowly suffocating. Nightmare. Poor lads!
I was reading about a young lad of about 12 whose mother went to bed early and let him stay up to watch a tv show and when she came down in the morning he was dead on the floor, the poor lad had choked on a boiled sweet. I can only imagine what his mother went through having kids of my own.

FYI - The Coroner investigating the Kaz II incident officially determined that one of the Tunstead brothers (neither of whom were strong swimmers) had his fishing line tangled in the propeller.
He attempted to untangle the line, but struggled in the water... his brother then dove in to assist... but also struggled.
Des attempted to bring the boat back to assist his friends but was hit by the boom when adjusting the mainsail and also fell into the water.
Unable to get back on the boat, all 3 drowned... or were possibly eaten by sharks.
The Coroner's findings appear to be based on scant evidence.
Rescue Officer Corrie Benson stated that there were multiple knives scattered around the boat, but no blood.
The whole situation was definitely strange, dark, and mysterious.
Thinking the knives brought out might have been to try and cut a line.

This was an exceptionally good episode. The Ghost Driver was really absorbing.. I guess he was tired of waiting for someone to come find him, so he decided to shake things up.

Sadly in the UK we just had 4 teenage boys 18yrolds that went camping for a weekend to Wales and when their families realised they couldn't contact them plus they hadn't returned home they got the police to try and locate them. They launched a huge search because Wales is thick forests and narrow roads that were thick fog after a a day or two they were located last week in an upside down car submerged half in water and sadly all the boy's never survived. Four families just before Christmas are now going through unimaginable hurt and I'm heartbroken for them as my son and friends are a year older it worries me with new young drivers when they're driving about at night especially.
Speed is my concern, we all have been there in youth, to fast, unknown road, slick pavement....at least they were together in the end....Cheers!

As a former liveaboard sailor, I've heard these types of stories. We all have. The only thing I can say is that the sea is a mysterious place.
Probably...1 fell off and they had to rescue..but they were old so had barely stamina and the other driving was old and cant see far...so he kept drving far away and maybe also fell overboard

I've been a fan from the very start. I have stage 4 cancer and spend long stretches in hospital. I honestly don't know what I would do without MrBallen podcast and you tube videos. He makes the time in hospital bearable, makes me feel calm, and his stories are so freaggin good.

He's part of a TH-cam network. He just reads the script, there's an editor, and story crew. They make over a million dollars a month and it doesn't just go to one person. There is a production team.

There was a murder case from 2004 where a couple were attacked with an axe by their son. The husband suffered devastating head injuries yet the next morning he got up and went through his normal morning routine, making a packed lunch and even loading the dishwasher before he collapsed and died. Basically, what was left of his brain was running on autopilot, going through the familiar routines with no higher thought processes happening.
I think something similar happened onboard the Kaz II, whether due to an attack or some kind of medical incident, the person at the helm of the boat was going through a series of familiar tasks based on all his previous sailing experience which is why it appeared as though the boat was under full control but the actions the boat was taking made no sense. I think the three men aboard Kaz II were likely attacked and one of them survived long enough to pilot the boat in this strange, nonsensical fashion before falling overboard due to injury.

Having worked in EMS in the UK for over 40 years, the public would be surprised how many people go missing like this. On the 19/11/2023 a group of four 16-17 year olds were on a camping trip to North Wales during a storm. It was a Sunday morning and they just vanished. Fortunately their bodies were discovered the following Tuesday. The car was upside in a river, they had all drowned.
Yeah the weather is a serious factor for travel. So many people have died this way. Some in the mountains, the desert, snowstorms, etc. Nature controls US, not the other way around. People forget its power

I was thinking this was something more along the lines of a boat armed robbery or hijacking, at more or less around the beginning of their trip, potentially right after shooting those videos. And then after everything that occured had occur, they guessed officials would be looking for them and found a way to abandon the boat before they did. Probably a stupid theory but I can't think of any other reason for people to have very recently been active on that boat and then suddenly not being there.
Maybe the criminals had come prepared to scuba-dive off? Idk lol
My wife and i have been watching mr ballen since he first started. Its been a staple with us for the past 4 years and no matter how hard we struggled, mr ballen was there to help calm us down or make the day easier. We remember when he had just a couple thousand followers and it is so cool for the both of us to have seen him come from just a small channel of someone doing what they enjoy and turn into this entire organization and not for profit. We have absolutely loved never missing a video and have so much respect for the person john became.

The Captain's log, be it pen and paper or digital, is very important. Every boating trip, unless a day trip, needs to be recorded. Even if it's uneventful, leave a record. Or, like these guys, you leave a mystery.
About the A3 Ghost crash, It makes one wonder if police overlooked the actual crash people reported and another car and person may still be decomposing in the same forrested area.

9:22 this was one of the scariest moments in my life, I fell asleep with headphones on and at 2 am this woke me up, I could swear it was coming through my window, I freaked out, didn’t know it was the video, I turned all the lights on, I thought that some insane person was messing with me, I grabbed an axe and listened to what’s going on outside, I eventually fell asleep with the axe in my hand but I would violently wake up a few times all sweaty because I thought I heard something, the next day I looked at my watch history and saw that it was from this video, I felt so freaking dumb

The story of the two Frenchmen, while tragic, is also kinda beautiful. Just a couple of blokes who bonded together and died doing what they loved; hanging out in their backyard eating food and drinking wine.
If you liked that story you should watch The Banshees of Inisherin. Great movie which has a lot of similarities to the second story.

I just found you on TH-cam last night and I have been binging! The second one I was I noticed the first comment was a very friendly listener warning not to read the comments before watching due to spoilers. I had read the comments of the first story and did read a few spoilers. So, tempting as it is I don’t read the comments now until after listening to the story.
Throughout the comments, it is amazing how many people credit listening to you while attempting to get off drugs. So many are successful because your stories help get them through withdrawal and maintaining their sobriety and there are also the same type of stories from sick and even dying people. This has to make you feel so wonderful to know that you are much more than an entertainer but a great help to so many people!
In fact, I am going to use listening to them in hopes that they will help with my PTSD and anxiety from a long battle with chronic pain. I’ll update about that.
I’ve now listened to enough to know about your foundation to help victims and their families. I feel like I’ve found not only a fabulous place to listen to interesting stories but also a ministry as well. You just never know how God may use you!! I’m really fascinated!
I do have to say that you are a born storyteller but I also really enjoy all the creative, cruel and humorous things that you come up with to do to the like button! 😂😂😂

After hearing that first one, there is absolutely nothing else you can do but take up listening to every single story he has ever told. I can relate I'm also in recovery and I watch these all day in my halfway house slash rehab I'm at in Albany NY and I love Mr ballen podcast it's what keeps my mind occupied in the boredom for living a sober life I'm so used to the hustle of street life I find I'm able to live vicariously thru these stories helps keep me occupied and entertained thanks Mr ballen make many many more please

The last story about the 3 guys on the boating expedition that disappeared is extremely spooky.
I remember the first story well. My sister has kept a newspaper cutting about the story as it was so weird. I didn’t know the guy was a criminal though! Very, very strange. The story of Lucian and Olivier is so utterly sad and tragic. Life can be so cruel.
My condolences go out to Lucien and his friend for their unfortunate health condition that led them vulnerable to saving themselves.

I have driven past where the car had crashed many times, as I lived nearby in Farnham, it was very unnerving and thought it was an urban legend, it was only recently I found out it was a true story. Poor lad, but bless him I hope he is at peace now.

Same here. We used to live in Guildford and drove past this bit of the A3 regularly. Always thought of him when we drove past. Thank goodness those people reported what they saw to the police.
Similar story in Malaysia back in the 80s, its a Volkswagon on a certain curved road, when you see this car do not follow behind it with your car, because it always drive off the curve and crash straight down a cliff

Oh my gosh the A3 ghost car! I have been driving that stretch of road on my daily commute for years and I remember reading about this whole thing in the local news and being very, very creeped out. I still get a bit nervous when I am on that stretch of road on my own in the dark if I have to work late. Thanks for including one of our local legends on your video!
The first story is a great example of a residual haunting. When disturbing and horrible things happen, ones that conjured energy from the fatality, the energy itself may never leave this earth and it replays the same incident over and over. The person passes on, but the energy from the fatality they experienced on earth doesn’t sometimes which is why we’ve heard of these occurring.

The Kaz II boat story has all the hallmarks of faking their own deaths so that their wives can collect a lucrative insurance policy, then distribute the money to them in another country. Another ship probably picked them up. I would love to know whether the occupants all had life insurance policies in their names and when each policy was opened.

I thought something like this. Or maybe they just had enough of their wifes, families and weren't ready to pay for them if they divorced.
That was my first thought as well...faking their deaths that is for whatever reason I do not know but sounds plausible.
I was thinking something simpler. They were robbed on their boat. The robbers may have at some point sailed out deeper to kill and dump the men, planning to steal the boat itself. They stayed on the boat for a while (hence people spotting it moving around in the same area and hence the signs of recent inhabitation on the boat), but when they saw police approaching, they fled (on a small motorised dinghy or on who knows what, whatever they used to approach the boat in the first place).
The Kaz story was a complete waste of time. After all the suspense, it went nowhere.
I worked in a hospital, often in the ER, while putting myself through college. Over the 4 years, a few paramedics and ambulance drivers have shared about being called to accident scenes, and it ends up that the actual wreck was long ago. These were men of science who didn't easily give in to ghost stories, so for them to describe their experiences in such detail -- yeah, I think that some ghost "stories" are real.

Love your stuff Mr Ballen! That last story was featured on William Shatner’s show Weird Or What. The figuring was that all three men had gone overboard and were unable to get back aboard. They carried out an experiment in a swimming pool with a target moving at the speed of a drifting boat on a calm sea. A very fit Toronto Police rescue swimmer couldn’t catch up. Not an absolute explanation but a strong possibility of what went wrong.
That would make sense, especially since the boat was still on and idling so although it wouldn’t be moving very fast, it would/could have moved faster than they were able to swim. Wonder if they forgot to throw out an anchor or turn the boat off and got hot and decided to take a dip in the water to cool off while fishing and by time they realized their mistake it was too late. But that doesn’t really answer the question why the multiple witnesses 24 or so hours apart saw the boat in the same spot and why it made a sudden sharp turn. Thats assuming that is what the witnesses actually saw. Also why was the sail damaged? A lot of questions we will probably never get an answer to unless somehow they happened to make it to shore and one day get rescued if they are stranded on an island somewhere, which I doubt since I’m sure all the surrounding islands would have been checked, but being that early in the search they may not have made it to one yet and finding 3 people in a big ass ocean definitely isn’t easy.

@davidbiagi2932 an idling boat doesn't idle like a car, there's no forward momentum from it, the prop is disengaged, but just adrift with the sail unfurled is more than fast enough. As for seeing ot twice, a big circle. Lots of ocean currents near the shore aren't the same as those further out to sea. Get in one, go one way, hit with a cross current, suddenly heads out to sea, hits an open water current, drifts the opposite direction. Same with the reefs, it was traveling with the current, not in a storm or underway which is how most reef strikes occur.
When I was a child, a bunch of us went swimming at a lake off a boat ramp. We were of the age to see who could dive the deepest, so we would take turns diving down at the end of the ramp. We were puzzled that we felt a smooth surface with our feet to push back off of to resurface. We got out for a break, and found chrome trim pieces on the beach, picked them up and put them in the trash can nearby. As we were leaving, some teenagers pulled up and we told them about the smooth surface and showed them the trim. About an hour later we went down to the ramp with adults, the teens had found a truck at the end of the ramp and it was being pulled out of the water. Saw bags of corn in the bed of the truck. Turned out that a hunter had a heart attack the last autumn and drove off the ramp. His skeleton was found in the cab where we had been landing with our bare feet on the roof.

Shout out to those officers for getting out to walk along the highway. You hear way too often about people who bleed/starve/freeze to death because their car went too far down a hill and authorities “searching” for them just drove past because they couldn’t immediately see it from the road.
I feel like from hearing a lot of these stories, European law enforcement is way more thorough than American
If there's no indication that the missing person went off road, what are the cops going to do? Search the entire planet? It's very easy to say where someone should have searched after the missing person has been found. People wander out into the desert all the time where I am and people love to play backseat quarterback about how easily they would have found the missing person after the corpse is found, as if the local sheriff should have gotten out and walked the entire Mojave.

Choking to death has to be one of the worst ways to go. One of my former co-workers sold one of his customers a bag of chicken wings which she ultimately choked to death on. He didn't learn about it until after a couple of weeks afterwards and always felt like he was partially responsible because he was the one to talk her into the purchase.
That's so sad. He needs to realize life can be very strange and we have no control over things like that. Tell him that he had no responsibility over what happened and we have enough stress and worry without blaming ourselves when something like that happens. Good luck to you both. 🎉❤

The strangest part of the last story is that they were close to civilization, close to help, so many times. Obviously something went wrong, why didnt they just go to shore? So weird. How awful for their families to have no explanation. It would be interesting to hear what they believe must have happened.
Not so strange if they staged the whole thing to start fresh somewhere else. Putting put to sea, (after emphasizing they were not going to) was a ruse to board another boat away from prying eyes.

So many things that are wrong with the Investigation, the way the police handled the boat and other Items, the lies told, the owner and previous owner of the boat.

What I'm referring to In my original comment Is how when the authorities first discovered the Kaz 2 they changed their story multiple times and left out that they found a bloody knife. I'm also referring to how the local mob had just killed a kid on something he had seen and also how the local "pirates" were known for stealing ships In that area to haul drugs In. I'm also referring to the previous owner and all of his lies and known affiliates to said mob and pirates. So I'm a little confused on where I said anything about them leaving their families or how I can be stuck on that when I never mentioned It. Lol. Maybe you should read what I said again.

In the last story, I wonder if Des was worried they were in imminent danger on that trip, like bad people were after him or if something happened to him. These were seasoned sailors, yet Des was very concerned about safety & ensured his friends knew the safety & overboard procedures. Maybe, they were attacked & the attackers took over the boat & turned to open water to throw them overboard. Idk. I feel like they should look into Des more & why he was so concerned about safety.
I agree...exactly. I would explain why the boat suddenly turned into open water when they said they would stay near shore and why no bodies were found on board. I wonder if the person that all those witnesses saw piloting the boat really was one of the 3 men...was it somebody else, or was it Dez??? Yeah, it seems strange that Dez would be that overly concerned about safety for veteran sailors like they were.

Yeah, it does seem odd that 3 experienced sailors would be that worried about open water. Unless it was exaggerated for the story. But at the same time, open ocean can actually be a very dangerous place and a 30 footer is not that big of a boat when it comes to the ocean. 5-6 foot seas and you'll have water cresting the bow.
My guess is, something happened the very first day and the craft had been on its own since. There could easily have been a scrap of sail on the wheel that gave the impression someone was there and that'd explain why it passed the bay twice, it drifted in a large circle. Same with the reefs, it was caught in the currents and drifted with them through the reefs. Most of the time people would hit a reef was because of bad storms or they were underway, not adrift. As to what happened to the men, well, the sail being torn suggests a storm at some point, if all the were on deck with no safety lines and a wave hit, they're overboard. The evidence that people had been there recently could have been misinterpreted, it's not like weeks had passed after all.
That second story is tragically beautiful. To both have completely random accidental/natural deaths simultaneously has got to be some of the craziest odds ever. It’s kinda beautiful though that neither of them had to live without and grieve each other. 🥺💔

I watch a ton of different random story telling channels but, if the topic is right, Mr Ballen remains one of my favourites. He’s been doing it for years and yet he still gets across the same enthusiasm for every story he tells. The detail and “this is a friend telling me a story in person” vibe help me to imagine the scenarios in my head, which just makes the stories really come to life. Looking forward to many more years (or maybe decades😂) listening to this channel

@@azouitinesaad3856I mean he does have a lot of bs, a lot of his stories he’s making up information which has nothing to do with the story and isn’t real at all, just adds it to make the stories longer.
