The best tip that I have ever gotten is to always throw out any and all garbage you have in your car while you are pumping gas. While the pump is doing its thing, go through all nooks and cranies where garbage ends up and empty it out. Personally, I have a habit of throwing receipts and straw wrappers in the door cubbie/cup holder. So while my tank is filling up, this area gets cleaned out. This has helped me tremendously with keeping my car junk and garbage free.
My husband and I own a glass company, and my 'PRO' tip for cleaning glass is #1. Never clean glass in the direct sun, it will streak and spraying cold on to very hot glass can cause it to crack/break. #2. Dry wipe your glass after you clean it, that is key to a streak free glass/mirror! ☺️
Great video! My girls are 10, 7, and 7. My rule is if you bring it in the car, you take it out! Blankies, animals, books, garbage, etc. They have learned to take less with them so they don't have to carry it back out!
Your “before” pic/video just brought back instant flashbacks to when my kids were young! We were so busy with our own jobs as well as kids’ sports, birthday parties, etc., that we basically lived in our car except to sleep. It was such a sweet flashback. As exhausted as I was all the time, those days were some of the best of my life. Thank you for jogging that memory for us!❤️
Love the beginning categorizing taking everything out 🤦🏻♀️Genius 👏 Very Helpful!! 👌🏻 1. Trash 2. Move things inside house 3. Take things out that are staying in the car. Always learn something new! Love this channel!!
My best tip is every time you stop and fill your car with gas- while the pump is running I go through my car and grab any trash and get rid of it. Since I do this weekly it takes about 2 minutes- mostly because my 11 year old has left snack wrappers in the back seat. I find this keeps my car pretty clean. I also take a bag out to the car once a month and gather up anything that needs to go inside. So now when I need to vacuum or wipe the inside out, half my job is already done.
Dang girl, is there anything you can’t do better than the rest of us mere mortals?! You sincerely rock! Thanks for the time and effort you spend to bring us these extremely helpful videos!
I love all those reusables, how you only have one cleaner, your diy cleaner and refreshener, your bamboo brush. I'm sooooo happy that you are making sustainable changes and showing others that it is feasible. You are awesome.
@@vasseurbeauty 😀😀😀 that is so cool! I learned to declutter with you, which led me to this eco minimalism as shelbizzle (other TH-cam creator) calls it. Keep up the awesome work.
Thanks for sharing! Try to keep disposable plastic bags that you got from somewhere else (in other words reuse) in the car just in case your kids or any passenger gets car sick, poop, or pee accidents. Makes clean up a breeze cuz you can just toss it the next time you see a trash can (gas station). Also, keep wipes in the car to wipe kids hands & yours before you sit in the car. This will help to minimize germs being transferred to the car & then inside your home. Try to make it a habit to wipe down car handles, steering wheel, radio knobs, etc before each use to help with germ fighting.🙂
I love that you're still rearfacing Carter! We have my 2 1/2 year old rearfacing too and get so many comments about it, it's so nice to finally see another mama doing it!
brittany! i swear you can read my mind! i was just saying how i needed to get my car detailed and now i’m determined to do it myself and save the money! you are an actual lifesaver, thank you!!
I've been using that interior cleaner for years, it's the best!!!! I'm so excited you posted this, your organization skills are unparalleled. and idk why but I've never thought to take everything out, I just clean around the junk lol
I have the same steering wheel cover! 🙌😜💖 I use a vinyl table cloth from the Dollar Tree in my back trunk area to keep things from ruining the carpet. It's also light and easy to shake out, wipe off and slide things off of. I put grommets in the corners and attached them to the back seats with hooks to protect the back as well. 😁 Another great video Brittany. Oh! And I love your hair in a pony tail. It's nice to see it up. 🙌
if you are struggling to clean crumbs or hair out of the carpets, use a carpet brush (or any firm bristle brush) and brush the carpet, following your brush with the hoover nozzle. It will kick up lots of crumbs and bits and hopefully vacuum it up as you go. Also, old make up brushes like blusher or kabuki brushes are really good for detailing, just give them a wash first.
Move seats forward and backward while vacuuming to get all the floor dirt. Also use leather protectant on leather, vinyl, and plastic surfaces. Use an actual detail brush. Everything else she did is great. I’m a car detailer and actually never even heard of that awesome meguiars product!! Definitely gonna buy it
This is amazing! I’m such a freak when it comes to cleaning my car! 😂 One tip, vacuum before detailing the car (whipping down and such) that way they dust from the vacuum doesn’t come back to where you’ve already wiped down! ❤️
Thank you!! So nice to have a car cleaning video from a girl! One tip from FlyLady is to take trash with you when you get out of your car, as a habit. I find that helpful! I'm trying to learn how to take care of leather seats, which is how I found this video.
For organizing, I keep 2 bungee cords in my SUV cargo storage space to use when carting around loose items (grocery bags, garage sale finds, luggage, etc.) to keep things from sliding around. They hook into each side of the interior space. You can also feed the bungee cords through the handles as well or use carabiners! You can pick them up cheaply at Dollar Tree. For cleaning purposes, I keep car cleaner wipes that I use for touch ups at red stop lights and I have a microfiber cloth I keep handy for quick clean-up of spills.
I have ordered a couple sets of those scraper tools in the past because of a previous video you had done talking about them. They are a life changer! I even gifted them to a friend.
That Meguiar's Quick interior detailer is THE best. I have a ton of different detailers and that one is my favorite. I use it all around the house too. Works great on TVs and laptops.
So funny this video would pop up today. Yesterday my hubby and listed my daughter's old car for sale. I'm not a neat freak but I told him the detailer missed a lot of of stuff. In a few minutes without a lot of effort it looked much better. Yeah, I think I'm going to start doing my own interior detailing, I'll essentially be earning about $100 in an hour! I might start keeping a little kit in the car & start a routine of doing about 1/4 of it each week.
Steering wheel covers are so underrated. I live in sweden and having a blanket type cover is soooo nice when it’s 5 degrees outside and you have to hold a freezing steering wheel
Super super helpful! Was going to pay over $100 to get my car detailed. Just bought all the stuff to do it myself and came out to $90, plus will last for multiple times that I clean my car! You rock!
I remember when you made one of your first car organizing/cleaning videos and you played the song, “Baby, You Can Wash My Car,” LOL! I loved that one and couldn’t wait for you to make one post-kids. 😉 I admire you for doing this in the heat! I have a minivan it seems to take hours to clean because I’ve got three boys who love to snack, draw, and otherwise make messes. And cleaning it in the South Texas heat & humidity is no fun! Good job! 👍 God bless you❣️ 🤗 💕
I also have cloth bin for my son’s things on the floor of my car..isn’t it funny that it becomes their car?! 😂 after I clean my car I’ll tell my son, “Your ride is ready, sir.” Lol this was a fitting video. I’ve been looking for a decent car vacuum. Thank you!
Omg my fiancé made me feel so OCD for being picky about detailing jobs. I’m not alone!!! Thanks Brittany for always making my cleaning habits and hang ups normal. I am definitely going to switch to an all purpose interior cleaner bc it would cut down on soooooo much time!
Hands down this is the BEST car cleaning video with tips I'd ever seen!👌🏽 I'm binging again on your videos, my memory isn't very well so sometimes I need a refresh! 😁 Btw your Mom's the best! I loved how how she created new accounts so she could make comments on your TH-cam channel! 😂🤣 Dying lol! She's a such a blessing! ❤️🙏🏽 I love your channel! 👏🏽☺️ Thank you! 😁🙏🏽 ❤️Maddy
So good Brittany ❤️ I love that you actually clean things that need cleaning its realistic and I can really relate to your videos! So many people clean things that are clean lol..! Brittany you are by far my favourite you tuber! Thank you for all your great videos! They’re really appreciated ❤️ 🇬🇧 xx
I actually love detailing my own car. I to found the detail shops didn't do as thorough of a job as I'd like. I feel so proud after I've washed and detailed my own ride 😁
The timing of this popping up is hilarious and amazing because I’ve been trying to get like EVERYTHING clean because Father’s Day is Sunday and then my husbands birthday is the Sunday after !
I recently discovered that putting a few drops of Ivory or your favorite dish soap on a damp, wrung-out, cotton washcloth is great for cleaning the inside of the windshield. After everything is washed, I dry with another low-lint cotton cloth. It seems to work very well for improving visibility and reducing fogging, as I did the driver's side and not the passenger side in order to compare. It works!
Love the video! I always struggle with keeping my car clean because it’s never a priority and feels like it takes forever but you made it seem so simple :) one thing I need to mention - be careful about storing sunscreen in the heat! It reduces its effectiveness BIG TIME! Enjoy your “new car!”
I like how you're so real, I have a 3 year old and a one year old and same here....I used to take my car to get detail, but now is money for them, so I this is really helpful, thank u
I don’t know if you’ve already done it, but I’m getting married in August and moving into my first apartment! I’m wondering if you could do a video with all of your absolute must have cleaning tools/products? Or like your “starter kit” you would recommend! Love your videos!!!
I use a makeup brush type paint brush to get in little grooves and cracks. It has longer hairs than a toothbrush. Love it. Found it with the paint's,etc at the dollar tree.
Take caution in getting your seatbelts wet. It affects the integrity of the belt. Over time it could cause the belt to break in an accident. No judgement just wanted to tell you in case you didn’t know. ❤️
I love that Carter is still rearward facing. It is 100% the safest way for kids to travel in the car. Our nearly 3 year old is still rearward facing. Your car is so clean. We have three kids and there's so many crumbs and crap in every little crevice. I think we would have to take the seats out to clean it 😂
Dont think about it to much seatbelts have a special coating on them so they dont catch on fire in case of a accident cleaning them to often can damage the coating.
I bought a uses car. Must have been a mechanic's... I've never seen such dirty seat belts!!! It was waxy/sticky?!? Washed it with dishsoap and a brush... the foam was dark beige 🤢. It really felt like an useful job!
Wow! You have a lot of patience. Go, girl! I don't know if I would have that patience. Plus, I live in an apartment, and don't have a hose to clean off the car mats. I live 35 stairs up, with no elevator, so hauling a bucket and water down...nah. Not gonna happen. lol But, your car is lovely. Maybe if I had a Lexus, I'd do this, too. Good job!
Thanks for another great video! 😊Another cleaning hack for scrubbing your floor mats is using a broom. I'm very pregnant and get dizzy when I kneel down. Makes it so much easier for me.
I have totally made those air fresheners!! I got the idea from your first car cleaning video! 👌 They really work!! I also did the cereal container as a trash can too! 👍
Yes, I do love your videos... first time commenter on your videos! Your video came right on time! My daughter and I are planning to do this for Father's Day👦 thanks Brittany💓
1. Love the way you have the camera set up for your intro! Feels like you’re just talking to me personally!💗 2. You read my mind with this video! I was just thinking about doing this to my car so this is perfect timing!
I feel obligated to warn everyone who gets tempted to clean the material on the inner roof of your vehicle with soap and or water... Don't!!!! If you do, you will ruin your headliner and have sagging material. I do auto upholstery and just had to say something. Lol
I have cleaned countless headliners and I can say it can be done but you need to remove it first and then spray with a soap/foam and brush if it is really dirty. after that vacuum/dry it really well to avoid sagging
As a Lexus owner who knows nothing about this kind of stuff, this was PERFECT!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH 😍 Just ordered these from your affiliate links! I’ll be cleaning my car when this arrives on Monday!!! 😆🥰🤗💕
Great video! Thank you for the glass cleaner recipe - works better than every commercial product I've ever used. Recommend not to use any product that will leave your brake and gas pedals slick or slippery. Pretty common sense, but it's an easy mistake to make.
Thanks to TH-cam I’ve seen a fair share of car cleaning videos so I wasn’t expecting much from yours. To my surprise it had some good tips and recommendations. Thanks!
Tip!! After your first vacuum pass, take a stiff bristled scrub brush and go over the whole carpet. This loosens stubborn trapped particles which you can now vacuum up. So glad you used an actual cleaner meant for cars! Never use DIY or household cleaners on your interior, especially the ones with essential oils. You’ll seriously damage your car doing that. Also, glass should really be the very last thing you clean in your car.
Thanks. Will check out these items. By the way… I unwittingly placed a too-big floor mat on the drivers’ side so, over the pedals. Doing this has saved me so much cleaning(!). Cheers.
@@liawallen4342 girl I would be glad to give them to you! Lol I have them stored in one of my decorative boxes on closet selve. I just feel more comfortable wearing the pads.
I loooove this!! I have a 5yr old but my car looks like I‘m chauffeuring a whole football team. It’s so dirty. This was motivation to go get my car in order 😊😊😊
Thank you for this! My car is a disaster and I was considering taking it in to be detailed because it seemed overwhelming, but now I feel confident I can do it myself! Do you have any recommendations of cleaner for cloth seats?
I did not know I needed this video! Do you hear me?!??! My car is a mess and I've been trying figure out a game plan on how to clean it myself and save some money. Definitely will be using some of these tips.
Ugh I cleaned my car last week in the blazing sun, tiught I was going to pass out!! Thanks for all the mom tips, my car will be so organized before baby gets here in August 😍😌!
I love cleaning my car and keeping it organized for my own sanity, I don't like having crums all over, cups, store receipts. I have the same steering wheel cover but in a different color and was from amazon. I do need me a purse hook or something to keep it in place and you're small garbage can and organizer majiger lol
I feel your pain; cleaning our car on the heat is horrible 😰🔥☄️ but once you start it’s almost impossible to quit!😝 I need to do a deep car cleaning too! Thank you !😃
OMG I honestly almost ✋🏻 stopped watching the first few seconds with your perfect little self and 5 star 🌟 hotel worthy bedroom. But your car was messy and I loved your tips with the essential oils, foam brushes, purse hanger etc! You got a like and subscribe for all that! Gotta go clean my car now! Bye 👋🏻
Brittany this video was super useful and really encouraging to see your car was actually messy to begin with 🙈 I always imagine everything in your life is always perfectly clean and tidy!! Also your hair and makeup at the start and end of the video look so so pretty 😍😍😍
Loved the video! As a detailer myself I always get cars filled with dog hair.... not fun. I use an air hose to get into the cracks and it works perfectly!
My trunk organizer has handles that make it easy to carry it in and out of my car. I don’t like to leave stuff in my car when I take it to be serviced, and this simplifies the cleaning out process.
I love it! Always looking for ways to keep my car clean! I like to keep a trash can in my car (got one for a couple of dollars at WalMart). I put it in a box just big enough for the trash can to fit and it prevents it from falling over and I empty it every time I get gas. 😊
As a Detail enthusiast, if you want to try something a bit more efficient at cleaning glass try using a clay bar to remove any contamination on the glass and a great Auto glass friendly cleaner is Stoner Invisible Glass cleaner. Also to replace the toothbrush/ slime method to get Into all those crevices use a Detail Brush👍 and the best tip I’ve learnt is to first clean the surface and then protect (aka an interior dressing) my personal combo is any All Purpose cleaner then spray Chemical Guys Silk Shine to get an “OEM” shine on plastics and seats. (Hope this helps)
THANK YOU FOR SHOWING YOUR CAR "BEFORE"! You have no idea how human and okay you just made me feel.

Victor Huerta omg, I never knew this! I don't even clean the seatbelts but this is good to know, I feel safer now 😊
I bought a uses car.
Good job!
Thank you for the great tips! You totally helped me decide to detail my husband’s car for Father’s Day!
Thanks for another great video! 😊Another cleaning hack for scrubbing your floor mats is using a broom. I'm very pregnant and get dizzy when I kneel down. Makes it so much easier for me.
I do this in my showers also, plastic bristles work best. So much easier than bending & scrubbing!!!
Hi thanks for commenting!! Say hi to your daughter for me
You made me realized I need to step my car game up!!
1. Love the way you have the camera set up for your intro! Feels like you’re just talking to me personally!💗
Lol
Yes!!! I do auto detailing and foam window cleaner is a good hack for cleaning headliners!
@@lindseymcmullin7216 Thanks, for the hack! I will definitely try it.
Is vacuuming it a bad idea? It just grosses me out that there’s dust up there so I’m tempted to do it😭
I have cleaned countless headliners and I can say it can be done but you need to remove it first and then spray with a soap/foam and brush if it is really dirty. after that vacuum/dry it really well to avoid sagging
Thank you for this info!
As a Lexus owner who knows nothing about this kind of stuff, this was PERFECT!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH 😍 Just ordered these from your affiliate links! I’ll be cleaning my car when this arrives on Monday!!! 😆🥰🤗💕
I’m not even a mom but I loved the tips for moms.
Michelle Tome this is me! I’m not even close to being a mom yet but I love all things mom, I feel 40 with what I like, do, and say XD
Great video! Thank you for the glass cleaner recipe - works better than every commercial product I've ever used. Recommend not to use any product that will leave your brake and gas pedals slick or slippery. Pretty common sense, but it's an easy mistake to make.
love that you're reducing plastic! these kind of vids are usually full of disposable wipes, plastic bags and more.
I agree. It's so refreshing to see a TH-camr that actually is concerned about reducing waste. You get 5 stars!!!
Thankyou so much brittany because my car is all time dirty and dusty so seeing this i know how to clean it
Completely agree with you about the all-weather floor mats!
Cheers.
the toothbrush for the crumbs in the seat cracks is super helpful i wouldn’t of thought of that thanks 😊
A small brush, designed to scrub your fingernails, works even better than a toothbrush. It grabs more gunk! Lol!
R Pigeon FabNayNay cool thanks i’ll have to try that!
I agree with trying to limit snacks in the car. Not easy with a toddler... but it does help keep your car clean. Thanks for the great tips.
A trucker once shared one of his cleaning tips was to use a tampon to clean out the vents.
Lol and I have plenty of those that I don't use anymore!! 🤣
loveinautumn 39 I’ll take them from you I’m all out
@@liawallen4342 girl I would be glad to give them to you!
I just took my car to be washed and I was definitely not satisfied!! This video came just in time THANK YOU! 😍
Ugh I cleaned my car last week in the blazing sun, tiught I was going to pass out!! Thanks for all the mom tips, my car will be so organized before baby gets here in August 😍😌!
Ugh I love your hacks because they aren’t repeats and are actually useful. Thanks girl! 💛💝
thank you!!
Bye 👋🏻
Oh my gosh! This video couldn’t have come at a better time! I was just getting ready to clean my car!
Brittany this video was super useful and really encouraging to see your car was actually messy to begin with 🙈 I always imagine everything in your life is always perfectly clean and tidy!! Also your hair and makeup at the start and end of the video look so so pretty 😍😍😍
Love the video. But is there a more organic alternative for a cleaning solution instead of a chemical one you used to clean the interior and surfaces?
Loved the video! As a detailer myself I always get cars filled with dog hair.... not fun. I use an air hose to get into the cracks and it works perfectly!
My toddler sat with me the whole time while watching this. He loved it ! Xoxox
My trunk organizer has handles that make it easy to carry it in and out of my car. I don’t like to leave stuff in my car when I take it to be serviced, and this simplifies the cleaning out process.
My daughter has just brought her first car x great advice...I'm going to get ordering x
I love it! Always looking for ways to keep my car clean! I like to keep a trash can in my car (got one for a couple of dollars at WalMart). I put it in a box just big enough for the trash can to fit and it prevents it from falling over and I empty it every time I get gas. 😊
*I have been waiting for one of these from you!! So glad you did this! Absolutely love your videos!! 💛💛*
OMG I love your dyi car freshener! Brilliant!
Thanks Brittney!! I just got a brand new car and going to pick it up today!! Good tips and hacks to not waste my money at the car wash store😍
I’m not sure if you do this but one thing a lot of people forget is cleaning the door jams (:
I love the essential oils idea! Synthetic smells are the worst!!
I agree!!
