    I always thought it was soo expensive to detail your car but looking at this i realize how cheap it can actually be. Honestly a really helpful video

      Honestly the expensive thing is paying someone else to do it.

    • @marcokrueger3399

      It is an investment, if you want to do it really good. But think about how long these products last. I honestly think it is cheaper than going to a car wash. In Germany, I have to pay around 7 to 10 Euros for a car wash but I can wash my car for about 4 to 5 Euros including the water (pressure washer) and the products. And the fun of course ;-)
      Edit: You're not allowed to wash your car at home, so you have to wash your car at a washing place, that's why the water is that expensive.

      Not to mention, all of these products have enough to last through several cleans. So a few bucks and an afternoon, your car can look great!

      Amy Damon most products that people don’t like that are “generic” actually work well. People just don’t use them properly. Or they just do a half ass job because they don’t want to put their full effort into it.

    Bought a few products at the dollar store, went to the self car wash and started like that.

      I would start with a mix of Walmart and Harbor Freight. I was able to get free microfiber towels as well as packs of foam brushes those can take out a few dollars from how much you spend at Walmart and let you get a wax or other small things. Plus save up over a couple weeks 🤷🏻‍♂️

    One suggestion I have is that when you buy any inexpensive brush is to "flex and fluff" the bristles before using it to dislodge any that are loose or broken so that you can avoid having to pick them out of the cracks and crevices. My father taught me that trick for interior house painting and it has saved me a BUNCH of headaches when cutting in and painting trim.

    One of tips that I've picked up a while ago is for inside of the windshield. Take clean microfiber and just do a wipe. Then take another soak it with rubbing alcohol wipe . Then take Windex on another clean one and do final wipe. Super clean. Another tip is when you do a final rinse take off the hose attachment and just use that to rinse the car from top to bottom. It minimizes drying. It doesn't bead.

    Thanks for the video, since being on "Shelter in Place" I have decided to detail my own car and I had not done that in a long time. I used the wax you recommended and it was great! My detail job was way better for $50 and some change than what I usually pay $150 for. As I was detailing my car, I found spots in the car that where filthy and the detailers had repeatedly missed. It is clear to me they only clean the surface and I'm much better at a deep clean because it is my car. It's really gratifying to see the result and if I put on an audio book, it makes the job pretty........dare I say....the process was surprisingly relaxing.

  • @Tigerandalex
    @Tigerandalex 5 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    I’ve used a ton of wax but the best has got to be Meguires Gold Class. For tires, mudflaps and wheel wells, I’ve found that Bleechwhite works well. And the weirdest thing I heard but decided to try for my interior was furniture polish. It sounds crazy but it worked great.

    I was about to do a detail after a long rod trip on my car and now 2 nights ago a tree fell onto it and totaled it. RIP Mazda Cx-5

    Loved your video. My goal is to start a detail shop using the best products and finish in and out within no longer than 2 hours. What are your thoughts on using a very soft brush for the wash and your thoughts about an extractor for a reasonable price but I believe I still have to vacuum to dry. My goal is to streamline from start to finish and any advice is greatly appreciated.

    How about buying items from a specific place like target, Walmart and see if they can do as good of a job? But make it items with not a lot of brand recognition. Maybe it could be a good video.

    Laying the soap soaked towel over bug/bird messes is genius! I generally use Mothers VLR for really messy cup holders, rubber floor mats, and elbow sweat stains in my wife's Ford Escape. It cleans the goop out really quickly. I think its too aggressive around window switches with painted on icons but does a number on rubber components. Thanks for the videos!

    I think maybe a $75 budget would get more equipment to help with the cleaning. $50 is hardly enough but you still did a great job cleaning the car for $50 and you have enough supplies left to do several more cars. Great job, now I need to head to the detail cleaning store.
