Tip: If you want to scavenge enemy vehicles (tanks), the first thing you have to do is get a unit inside of it. Then get another unit to repair the vehicle. Otherwise you lose the vehicle when the match suddenly ends. You can always repair the vehicle after the match or during the next match when you spawn in a relative safe area.
Thanks dude, this pushed me over the edge to pick it up. I bought Call to Arms way before the conquest update and never checked out this mode. Love WW2 games and this looks like a lot of fun.
@@JerfVR Yeah the WW2 game aspect I think is unique and fun in its own special way. Enjoy! And try not to cry too much when you lose your favorite tank. I still do that. x)
How can you pause in a conquest match against AI? I looked at the keybindings but the pause bind is greyed out (because the game calls it mulitplayer against the AI). People online say that it works but is does not. Help
Thank you for this video! Firstly I appreciate being introduced to this wonderful looking game. Second I can tell I wouldn't have had any idea how to even use the stages before you explained them. and thirdly I enjoyed the campaign that much I'm currently rewatching it!
I find getting tanks as early as possible is they way to go, and over time either buy more tanks or use captured ones and only bring in around 2 Inf squad, at least 1 medic team and at least 2 engineer team, where the infantry's job is to get captured equipments and secure caps while tanks do the heavy lifting
1:00:33 I think any solder can act as medic if you join the two as a unit first and then click the heal icon of that unit. I have not tried but there must be a way that regular soldiers can do some sort of healing action.
THANKS for the guide, this game is awesome for folks interested in WWII games and the RTS genre. Im not so new to it but its still alien, compared to FPS games. BIG thanks much love its easier when you see it in practice
Thanks for this, just picked up GoH and struggling a bit but this video helped a lot. The game reminds me a little bit of Close Combat A Bridge too Far which was so ahead of it's time. What I do love about GoH from what I have seen is the game speed is a little closer to real life and you have time to do stuff not just a case of how fast you can get to the zone and how fast you can micro, though there is plenty of that no doubt. I'm off to watch part 2 and then your Conquest run throughs. Cheers. Oh I subbed by the way :)
Hi Steve! I'm glad you liked the video, and thanks for your feedback! I agree the game does have a more realistic feel in terms of action speed than some other games, but once the battlefield fills up it can get a bit hectic! Hope you enjoy part 2.
regarding what the dude in chat was saying about no squad based infantry: Youre supposed to press shift+(some number) to assign hotkeys to squads as they spawn. You can the split them and move them around, and once you press their number key, you immediately select the entire squad no matter how much you split them apart. This also lets you keep track of what infantry squad does what role. I have no clue how he plays like this lmao.
All the games in the series put the infantry in their original squads at the start of the match (or when purchased), if you select their icon down in the left corner you keep the squad intact. The same icon also hovers over the squad on the battlefield. If you select one squad member by clicking on him he will stay in his squad but can order him to do certain stuff without messing with the squad (if I remember correctly). But if you select him with a "box" you will separate him from his squad. If you want him back in, select his old squad and shift+click the lonely soldier. Good video, learned alot about dynamic campaigns :)
Yes, therefore it is extremely important to scavenge the map for additional ammo for the vehicle/weapon in question and store them in a (owned) enemy vehicle. Important tip: You can use "X" (examine) directly from vehicle to vehicle. That way you can loot disabled vehicles quickly.
Great tutorial videos. I started playing this a month or so back and your videos really helped me get to grips with the game. Do you still play gates of hell? Do you think you may make some more videos now the game has progressed over the last 2 years? Kind Regards Gary
Hi Gary! Thanks for your kind feedback. I haven't played GoH for quite a while, nor have I made many videos (real work taking priority). However, I always take requests into consideration, and I'll certainly take a look at GoH again.
Excellent tutorial! Thanks a lot. I have one question though. In the current version of the game, in the "recruitment" and "reseach tree" screens, units now appear with a number between brackets before their name. Like for example: (5) Fallshirmjager Squad. Do you have any idea what this number (5) represents? And also why some units have this number and others don't? Thanks!
You're welcome, I'm glad you liked it. I asked around for your question as I only suspected the answer without knowing it absolutely, and the numbers represent the quality of the troops. So 1 means the lowest quality of soldier while 5 is the highest. :)
@@gameducationofficial Yeah, that's what I think as well. And to be more specific, I think it is roughly the "rounded average" of the (Infantry) Weapon Skills Levels (RPG, Rifle, Pistol, SMG, MG). That would also explain why this number is shown only for infantry squads.
Thank you. Idea is not new or unique, there are "Faces of War" and "Men of War" game series as well. Built-in Conquest idea is new though and it took developers' 14 years to figure it out. (Conquest as well as transfer of captured equipment to next mission ideas are actually belongs to "Dynamic Campaign Generator" mod team)
You're welcome! I wasn't aware the mechanic existed elsewhere, that's interesting. I do think it's a great mechanic though and I'd love to see it in more games.
@@gameducationofficial First of all, thanks for great totorial! I played a lot of COH and Sudden Strike, but never liked Man Of War, so your totorial was very usefull. Second, Dynamic Campaing Generator idea was used in Bliztzkrieg 1 (this game was one of pioners of this tipe of RTS games). In Blitzkrieg single player campaing player had an ability play main mission of that chapter and then play a unlimited numbers of auto-generated missions (and this how get a more points and more experence).
The series started all the way back in 2004 with the best game-worst name, hall of fame title Soldiers: Heroes of WWII. If you remove the large scale, dynamic conquest and the ease-of-life squad mechanics, it is virtually the same game which in this case is not a bad thing by any means. Anyone interested in the series should check it out, it still holds up.
Wow! Thanks for this. I’ve struggled with the dynamic campaign for a few days now not realising I had to unlock the extra reinforcement tiers using Research Points! Quick question - does the AI also have to deal with restocking and research points? Sometimes it feels I wipe out their force but they are right back to capacity next round.
Hi Tyler! Glad you liked the video! I think the AI does have to deal with restocking, but I also believe the game employs a kind of 'comeback' mechanic, whereby the more units you lose, the more resources you gain back to compensate at the end. If it helps, I've felt exactly the same way you have!
Gameducation: first of all Thank you for this Guide, yes thas what my question was going to be on what is the timer for? also, how does the Resource Bar works? if the enemy is at the cap zone how does the bar fill up B4 reaching 1000 and you lose or the Ai, like how does it gain points? by time for sitting at cap zone? i still really don't understand this mode in GoH or in all the other versions like MoWAS2 Call to Arms etc. I tried looking for this info on Steam Community and the Discussions butt can't find none also went to the Official Website of Barbwire studios, but worst there's nothing there for such info nor a Manual. If I remember in one gameplay of conquest i was in the cap zone, where the flag is, and saw how slow it was to fail or fill the resource Bar, is that what is called? a Resource cap circles? well, hope you understood the questions I was trying to ask TY and for the video Gameplay Guide.
You're welcome! The resource bar fills when you control an objective. Control all the objectives when you are attacking and you win the match. On defense, hold the objectives and make the bar fill up before the AI to win the match. You have to capture the objective zone to gain points from it, but you can only capture it when there are no enemy units on it. So make sure the objective is clear!

I think it's better to bring as much as you can. The game will give you extra resources for any units you lose in battle, and those extra units might also be the deciding factor in whether you win or lose the battle.
