- Will Queen's coffin procession help Prince William and Prince Harry reconnect? | Palace Confidential. Princes William and Harry joined other members of their family behind the Queen’s coffin was taken in a procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall. The scenes will inevitably draw comparisons to the time the two - then schoolboys - had to make the journey behind Princess Diana's coffin in 1997. The prospect of the pair together must be ‘triggering’ says Charlotte Griffiths, the Mail on Sunday’s Editor at Large, but she believes some good could potentially come of it.
‘I think it could be a really good way for the brothers to somehow connect again over the shared memory,’ she tells a special episode of our royal talk show Palace Confidential.

Gosh it brought tears to my eyes (again) when I saw the Queen's coffin come out on the gun carriage with crown atop. So incredibly moving! And to see the close family walking behind looking solemn - again heartrending. There's no doubt, the military does things with amazing appropriate panache - the uniforms, the discipline, the seriousness. Just magnificent to behold.

Harry went to Prince Philip's funeral. Peter Phillips was placed between the brothers in the procession.

In my opinion, the RF should NOT let Harry back into the fold. The fact that he allowed his wife, and that he himself disparaged his family whilst Prince Philip was on his deathbed, the fact that they refused several invitations to Balmoral whilst the Queen was lying on her deathbed. This cannot be forgiven until 1. Harry apologizes for what he has done 2. Harry shows a clear, long penance and atonement. 3. Divests himself of his ball and chain. Unfortunately, there are nasty, mean evil people everywhere and when they turn up in your family...sometimes cutting them off is all you can do. Since they are a public family, subjecting themselves and their private conversations to public scrutiny due to an untrustworthy person makes it more imperative to cut the offending member out.

The only way that Harry will reconnect with his family is if his wife is completely out of the picture.
As a teenager, I stood along the railroad tracks in Philadelphia, waiting to see the train carrying Robert Kennedy’s body to Washington for his funeral. 54 years later it remains one of the strongest and clearest memories of my life. I think it is tragic that fears over possible negative behavior by a few individuals has denied millions the opportunity to pay a last respect to the beloved Queen.
Personally, I've been watching the last week and have been questioning why people would stand around for hours to get a 1-2 minutes (at most) of a glimpse of a coffin. It's not a practice I've ever been interested in and don't understand it.
Sorry to say, my answer is no. Prince William and Prince Harry will not reconcile.
We have heard a lot of what Harry has said & done to William,
when is enough is enough for William.
Harry had no intention to see anyone in the Royal family.
Harry is only there now, because the Queen passed away, otherwise the Sussex’s wouldn’t be bothering with anyone in the family.
Harry was given TWO (2) chances when he visited the Queen, Harry REFUSED the THIRD and final offer and it is clear that Harry is to be EXILED. Parliament will vote to remove his status and he will no longer have any privileges, his Court Case against the Government will be in tatters and the Nasty Couple will be humiliated. Charles, Anne, Andrew, Edward and William will want NO CONTACT after Tuesday. They will not be welcome across Europe or the Commonwealth.
They shouldn't because Harry will use it to hurt William and George.
Reconciliation would be seen as foolish and weak. Harry and his handler have caused too much damage and continue to cause damage to everything the Monarchy stands for

To be fair Andrew also saw active service. Not just Harry. And another difference Andrew is the Queen's son. Harry is 1 of 8 grandchildren. Plus there is the etiquette that once you leave the armed services you're no longer entitled to wear the uniform. The other royals wearing uniform, have honorary ranks. I'm not a supporter of Andrew but these are the facts.

The less often U all say their names, the faster they will become irrelevant. Many of us really are interested in knowing more about the family members who have remained true to your Royal Family and therefore to those of us who have some allegiance to the Monarchy, even in distant lands.
1. It's against the rules for Harry to wear his uniform.
2. Harry chose to leave Royal Family service.
3. Andrew is the Queen's son! He didn't choose to leave.

The photos of the Queen and Prince Philip were lovely, as were yesterday the photos with the dogs. What shines out from the Queen in these photos is love, happiness, and decency. She comes across as a thoroughly good egg.

Is it possible that it was the Queen’s wish that her son be permitted to wear his uniform during the procession and that H would not? I believe the fact that H has attacked his own family since leaving the Royal Family is a big reason he has not been granted certain permissions.
I think so too, must've been one of her last wish as a mother and as for Harry, I'm thinking, the Queen may have left the decision making about that to Charles, as one of the things he has to decide on as the new King, but if it's really just part of the rules, then it is what it is, too bad for Harry, lol!

The Queen's coffin procession was amazing. The many armed services, police officers, and the many behind the scenes workers to pay respect to HRH. My heart goes out to the grieving family. And as far as the whole uniform wearing business. It's against British law to not be allowed to wear a uniform when you are no longer in the armed forces. So, Harry knowing this law since stripped of his military titles is once again causing a media storm over a nonissue. This man child needs to honor her majesty and his father and stop stirring up trouble!

Diana, Harry wasn't prevented from wearing his Uniform. He gave up his position as a working Royal; as a result,all the Honorary Army Ranks status which were conferred on him were removed by the Regiments, as he was no longer a member. He is allowed to wear his medals as those were earned through his ten years of service.
Why not just focus on the Queen, isn't that the only important thing now? Everything else should be irrelevant when it comes to respect, honor, history, tradition and gratutude.

Lovely montages at the end of each show. Thank you. I was so impressed with the Queen’s coffin procession. No one does pomp and pageantry like the British. It was very moving.
Reconciliation cannot take place until there is full repentance. The definition of repentance is turning around 180 degrees in the opposite direction. Harry and his wife have not repented as of yet. I see it as carrying out a family obligation. For Prince William, it is far more as he is carrying out his sovereign duty while honoring his beloved grandmother. For Harry, it is hoping to grieve his grandmother, while his wife is there to glean some material for their trash Reality TV series and upcoming, salacious, tell-all book.

The Princes Vigil was Spectacular, Awesome, Dignified, and humbling. The coffin procession equally so. Monarchist or not, it’s an opportunity to be grateful, humble, and respectful of all: a chance to grieve a loss and hopefully be thankful, hopefully try to be or do something positive.
Don't forget The Princess Royal. She has been amazing and done her dear mother proud.

I think people just need to give up on a truce and reconciliation. While unfortunate, families do sometimes have falling outs that are never healed. It’s just this family is one of the most public of families. So stop pressing the narrative that it has to happen. Sometimes married couples drift apart when they age and get divorced, this is a family version. We shouldn’t make the family feel like they have to fit a puzzle back together when the pieces now come from different puzzles.
That book is going to make it impossible for Hank to be trusted ever again. He sold out his family… it’s disgusting.
I felt so bad for Charles with the pen incident. He’s clearly very distraught with everything and was probably embarrassed and upset that something went wrong when he knew the world is now watching us every move. I thought it was just a human reaction to what has been a horrible week for him.
H insisting on publishing his memoir in November says it all. There's no way the RF can trust him. H has made his choice. It's obvious he couldn't care less about how many pay for it nor who they are. He could be shocked to discover he may pay the biggest price.

Prince Andrew was a career serviceman - I believe he worked his way 'up the ranks'. Many of his comrades during the Falklands war and members of his regiment have said that he played an exceptional part. As for Harry, I've not heard such great things... Myself, personally, I can't wait until the Harkles return to their 'life of privacy' they craved in their Montecito mansion... I'm just sick of hearing about them, when the attention should be on the mourning of HM Elizabeth II - King Charles III and our new Queen Camilla.

The procession was perfect in every way.
The Coffin procession was captivating, the whole thing, starting at Balmoral, the precision, grave solemnity, and respect was something we're never going to see again. But in London, it was like the appearance of something from another era, a reminder that this is an old, old monarchy with ancient traditions. I was born in Canada, but I found this incredibly sad, I was surprised at how much it affected me.
I was startled to see the Crown out there in the sunshine, open to the world, as if it's symbolically given to the people, just as with the Queen herself. The funeral, still going on, is a spiritual event, described by some journalist as "tribal". I always get the sense that there is more of a community feeling in the UK than elsewhere, and it was emphasized by the funeral.
I feel like I must go home and connect with the ancestors, who were somewhere in the south of the UK, Caithness, and Ireland. Who said I belong in Canada? :)
Black was de rigeur for dress, but there were still blazing colours, all the way from the royal standard, to the scarlet uniforms, the dramatic Highland outfits, Beefeaters, and more. Gold everywhere. It was a feast for the eyes (especially artists like me). Brilliant colours were always on display in ancient times, and it's good to see the RF keeping it up.

I really loved the picture montage of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. They were such a power couple. I will really miss them. God bless them both. I hope they have enjoyed a happy reunion. ❤️

So what, it will simply NOT be in any Public Libraries, some Book Sellers will make the decision NOT to stock it and Penguin Random House will find themselves been sued by their Shareholders and their other authors. Suicide if they release the Book ever. Good news last for days, Bad news lasts forever, and the Publishers know if they release the book they will suffer for years.

This conversation would be totally different once Harry's book comes out. I don't think he would even be invited to attend the funeral at all!
People seem to have forgotten it was the Queen who stripped Harry of his ability to wear his military uniform. It was the Queen who did not allow him to wear his uniform to Prince Phillips funeral and the Queen who sat him and his wife away from the rest of the family at the memorial service for Phillip.
So are you expecting the family to disrespect the Queen by disregarding her feelings and putting Harry in uniform because ONCE AGAIN he’s having a sook.
Harry never appreciates anything. No matter what he has, he moans about what he has not.
He and his wife made the last years of his grandparents lives unbearable and her he is taking part in the process with his wife who as late as last week made a veiled threat towards the family about not signing an NDA so she can say anything.
But no, not enough for Harry. Now he wants to make a fuss about how he’s permitted to dress. He should respect his grandmothers wishes. Second row and no uniform.

She was frail, but she wasn’t stupid. She kept her wits to the end. If she wanted Harry back in uniform she would’ve stated that loud and clear.
Tom Bower’s book documented HMTQ’s remark to aides at the time of Prince Philip’s funeral service, “Thank goodness Megan’s not coming.” She was banned from Balmoral when Harry made the trip up. Looks like her ban was lifted.
