My biggest tip is to always take them and let them be part of the team. And Patience. I have a female (Bonnie). She is more of a warm weather dog, she is not a fan of the cold water. She can hunt dove and upland all day long. The male (Clyde) is a beast and does it all. When it comes to cold weather, I have a vest for him and I carry an extra jacket for him to cover him up. Sometimes I put a icy hot patch on the inside of the jacket.
Thanks for the insight, was definitely thinking about a versa-vest when he’s ready for it. We don’t get TOO many super cold days, but wanna be prepared
Once that light turns on for him you'll see a big change in him. What a cutie.
Just joined your channel. Glad to see a Texas waterfowl channel. I also use GSPs as a duck dogs.
That’s awesome to hear! We’re really looking forward to seeing him in action one day! Any tips? How does yours do when it dips near freezing?
