    I know many people avoid sun all together but I think it's important to expose the skin to mild sunlight for 10-15 minutes most days. Bakuchiol doesn't make skin more sensitive to the sun as retinol does, so I will be trying this out for this reason.
    Thank you for your explanation, I will try vit. C around my eye area as Bakuchiol and retinol are apparently not safe for the eyes.

      That's right. I expose other parts of my body occasionally to the sun (still with sunscreen) -- but not my face and neck :) I would love to know your bakuchiol experience!

      There are a lot of good retinol brands out there, Ive personally tried only a few -- neostrata, RoC, avene, Olay, pixi and ZO skin health. In my opinion as long as reputable brand naman they should be ok. Also observe your skin for reactions.

      There's nothing I can think of right now that you CANNOT mix with azelaic acid. I would probably recommend that you be careful with mixing azelaic acid with other potentially irritating ingredients like retinoids, AHAs, BHAs right away, you may do so gradually and maybe do skin testing.

    • @irenegaile

      We use it more as an anti-acne medication rather than for anti-aging because most of the studies done on adapalene is in the treatment of acne. But it is sometimes given to those who cannot tolerate other forms of retinoids like tretinoin or retinol.

    Hello Dra. Thanks for a very informative video po, this video helps me a lot po. Is Retinol consider as Chemical exfoliator also?? Ang iba kasi kakilala ko po natatakot mag start gumamit ng retinol kasi baka daw mo katulad ito ng mga rejuvinating products na nakakasunog ng skin kapag long term na ginagamit po , ano po difference po ng retinol compare po sa mga ingredients na meron sa mga astringent or mga rejuv po??

    • @irenegaile
      @irenegaile  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi and thanks for watching. Retinol is not considered an exfoliant, it is a keratolytic and one of the more common side effects is flaking and peeling as your skin adjusts to it. Ung ibang rejuvenating products -- which I am going to post about soon -- contain a combination of many acids and retinoids that is why ganun ung reaction after gamitin ito, which I personally do not approve of.

    Tsaka po kung mag te-tretinoin po ako, need padin ba mag exfoliate?

    • @irenegaile
      @irenegaile  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Skin turnover is the normal na pagpalit ng balat natin. It happens every 20 days in children, once a month in young adults and becomes less efficient and longer in older adults. Exfoliation is removing the top layer of the skin to encourage formation of new ones.

      Hello! Salamat sa pagsubscribe :) to answer your first question, ung mga scars kc natin pwede talaga cya mas maging visible as we get older because we lose more collagen and elastin kaya mabuti gumamit ka ng mga anti aging ingredients that can slow down agijg like retinoids na pwedeng icombine with niacinamide and/or mag undergo ng mga procedures to treat scars :)

    Hello po Doc,
    I'm a user of Tretinoin 0.025% it was prescribed by a Dermatologist.
    Doc, nag stop po ako from using,naka 3 months na po ako at lampas na nga,kase po parang sobrang sira na ng skin barrier ko,
    More Comedones ang erupting,lalo na sa both cheeks and sa forehead,
    One night nag lagay ako, kinabukasan, tinubuan ako ng apat na ang sasakit na blind pimple,kaya nag stop po ako,
    Ngayon po doc, pa heal na po ang lesions,kase medyo kumakalma na sila, tho may nagatubo padin sakin, instead of using Bio-Sulfur po kase,
    I let the derma know na upon listening to my skin, it really needs an active like a Salicylic Acid,
    Now po doc, purging stage na po ako kay BHA 1.5% na wash,
    Kase nag eerupt yung mga spot na may comedones,the area where I popped pimples,ay nag re react na tutubuan ulit,
    I was also prescribed a 2% Clindamycin Toner,
    Ang Q. Ko lang po,
    Is it okay if mag back out nako kay Tret doc?
    Natatakot nako eh baka maulit uli ang pagdami ng Comedones ko at pagka compromised ng Skin Barrier ko.

      Hi Rodel! I think this is a conversation that you should have with your dermatologist. Let him/her know your reaction to tretinoin. Hindi kc lahat can tolerate it :) if you feel that your skin is not reacting ok, stop mo na, but I suggest you go back to your derma para mapagusapan nyo. Madami naman pwedeng ibang gamitin :)
