As a recommendation, I can say that Versed Gentle retinol serum containing bakuchiol and encapsulated retinol is an awesome product. Very gentle on the skin and it makes the skin look flawless. Not so strong when it comes to combating around-the-eye wrinkles, even after about two months of use.
When you say "Not so strong when it comes to combating around the eye wrinkles", Do you mean it's not going to irritate the eyes as some other stronger formulas can? Or, do you mean it doesn't do as good of a job at combatting the wrinkles around the eyes like some stronger formulas do?
@@Lisa-qk1xj I meant the latter. It's just not strong enough, and I am relatively young (32) with light, around the eye wrinkles. For that I would recommend Medik8 0.3 Retinol oil. It is for the face, but is gentle enough to be used around the eyes, too.

💜 I’ve only tried bakuchiol products from ByBi and The Inkey List so far. I like both but I do like TIL’s bakuchiol a little more. It’s a moisturiser and I like the formulation. It works wonders with TIL’s retinol serum - which is another product that has a formulation that I really, really like. I’ve also paired TIL bakuchiol with Sunday Riley’s A+ serum (a higher strength retinol) and The Ordinary’s Granactive Retinoid 2% emulsion. Bakuchiol might not be the holistic alternative to retinol or maybe not even to be compared to retinol, but it’s a nice antioxidant 😌 And I love my antioxidants - as well as peptides and fatty acids - just as much as retinol!
How do u layer TIL bakuchiol with TIL retinol? Is it Combining both for nighttime routine (retinol then bakuchiol) or do u use bakuchiol in the morning and retinol in the night?
I know you made this comment 2 years ago but I'm looking for a bakuchiol moisturizer and I've checked out ByBi's (since I already use their booster) and The Inkey List's. My skin is very dry, so would you say ByBi's or TIL's cream is more moisturizing and hydrating? Because I noticed that TIL's cream is a day cream but I want to use it in the evening
I use the neogen bakuchiol firming serum and love it. I used the ordinary retinol in squalene, but it was too oily for me and just sat on top of my skin. This one absorbs so well and gives a nice almost cooling effect. 💜
I randomly bought the Bybi at Target and was thrilled to see you mentioned it. The smell isn’t great, however, the two ingredient formula is what caught my eye. Just started using it so I am excited to see its impact.
💜I have tried many, many eye creams. I decided to try the Ole Hendrickson Bakuchiol eye cream. I had a little bit of wrinkly eyelids. I use the eye cream at night under the eyes and in lids. I was able to see visible difference in about 5-6 weeks. I still have 1/4 left, and I bought another for my "backup drawer".
Thank you for being so honest with information on bakuchiol. I like to take into consideration both the pros and cons. I read the information about bakuchiol and possible negative effects with breast health and not yet being proven safe or unsafe for use in pregnancy. No one seems to be mentioning or explaining the issue in any videos. I appreciate your honesty.
I bought the brand Good Molecules Bakuchiol oil blend for oily skin, it was $10 for 12ml/0.40 fl. Oz .. the ingredients are Rosa Rubiginosa (Rosehip) Seed Oil, Baobab Seed Oil, Bakuchiol. They have one for dry skin and one for oily, I'm oily so I chose this one, I use the niacinamide from good molecules and it's been good so far so I'm hoping this one is too
I've been using the same oil and I think it's good, I live in a country that is really cold in winter and I was feeling that my moisturiser wasn't enough. I feel my skin more hydrated but I'm not sure if I see any changes regarding wrinkles, elasticity or fine lines...
The first before and after picture shows a woman smiling and not smiling. I agree, not smiling will erase your wrinkles. Thanks for the evidence 😂🙄. I’d be curious to know if other skincare have been tested for ingredients accuracy. I think we’d be surprised to find out the results, for any brand 💜

For reference: I have combination-dry skin and the Paula's Choice one was perfection for me. It was my intro into Retinol, and I had used 2 Bakuchiol products before (none of the ones mentioned here) before going to Paula... And I've got to say, the reason I think it would be fine for even combo-dry to dry skin is because of it's longterm moisturizing effects on the skin... Because of the Bakuchiol. Let me explain: for the first while I couldn't understand why my skin had become so plump and supple. I chocked it up to be my Marine Hyaluronics, because it's done it in the past, but just a while ago my husband was touching my face and even he said, "wow. Your skin is SO smooth and it's like.... thick" lol... God bless him. What he meant was that it was plump. Enough for even him to notice. So I flipped through some of my journey pics (before and afters) and realized that most of these improvements started happening on my skin only after introducing Paula's Choice Retinol + Bakuchiol. On top of the suppleness, my moisture barrier seems stronger than ever, too. You can feel it. You can see it. My skin looks visibly healthy and glowy. I chock that up to be the Bakuchiol, which, based on my experience, is part of Bakuchiol's star-power. It's just SO moisturizing! The complete opposite of Retinol. Even toner-pads soaked in the watery stuff (Indeed Labs Bakuchiol Pads) leaves a lotion-like after feeling. So, while the texture of Paula's may not appeal to dry skin initially (actually, to be honest, I don't know why it wouldn't... It's phenomenal. Sort of rich yet easily absorbed. Silky. Soft. Smooth.) I guarantee that with time they'd notice a great improvement in their skin texture and moisture as well. On top of that, the formula is so gentle that the Retinol never once bothered me. Even when I used it on the same day as Paula's BHA. it:s just an all-rounder wonderful product. I didn't think I'd like it **that** much, but I do. It's one of my all-time favourites. **chefs kiss** and I wouldn't be surprised to see Bakuchiol in WAY more products going forward. Especially those known to cause dryness.

I tried it too but on my face it’s already been 1 month and half I using it but the results may take more time… will give it another chance to see how it goes or I will stick with my cerave retinol
I did for two years and it was great. Unfortunately I skipped it to try out tretinoin and couldn't tolerate both of them. I stopped using tret because it aged my skin horribly. I will go back to bakuchiol after trying tretinoin for almost two years. Wish I never touched tretinoin.
I know slugging and retinol is not recommended bc it’s sensitizing ! But I use a bakuchiol serum and did slugging… honestly my dry acne prone skin was very happy of this experience !
Hi ! I’ve been using a Bakuchiol serum from Aroma Zone (wich I believe is a French brand) for a week now and it’s pretty similar to the target option you mentioned. It’s 1% of bakuchiol and olive oil squalane. The reason I picked this one is because it’s only 7€. I wanted to give it a shot. I don’t know if the brand is distributed in other countries but I know it’s gaining popularity in France. If you ever get the chance to try it I would love to hear your thoughts on it. Anyway thank you for your videos, they are always so interesting and helpful, bisous from the south of France 💜
One of my absolute favorite, must have products is the Acure Rejuvenating Dual phase Serum. It’s super hydrating and has bakuchiol. I love retinol - but can’t use it as I’m pregnant and soon to be breastfeeding.
Indeed Laboratories - Bakuchiol Pads and Sephora has a Bakuchiol serum, now, too. BAK 1% The former is $20 CAD ($16 USD?) and the latter is $27 CAD ($20 USD?) 💜
💜 I'd like to try Bakuchiol, but I don't really have any retinoid sensitivity issues, so it becomes hard to justify the extra costs, especially since I can't afford any of the primary options except the Target possibility so I'll look into that because I am curious about boosting the effects of retinol products, and the anti aging options.
I've only tried the ones from herbivore and acure. I actually really liked hervibores... I liked it so much I got it for my mom and she absolutely loves it and has really helped her skin with spots and old acne scars. I've been thinking avout trying the biossance one, any thoughts? Of the ones mentiones the first two would probably be my choices. I wanna give my mom the second to see how she feels compared to herbivores without telling her about what i just learned. 💜
Very famous brend in my country is the Polish one named Nacomi. It has retinols that are very good and the prices are very low and also they have a Bakuchiol serum 2%. I tried only the retinol 0.25 % and it's so friking good, also people are buying like crazy the other concetrations and said that is like magic.
Burt's Bees' "Skin Renewal Firming Moisturizing Cream" is the best night time moisturizer I have ever tried. It's got bakuchiol in it, but I have no idea if that's why this cream is so good. My skin looks so clear, smooth, and has a bit of a bounce in the morning. It comes in a fragrance-free formula, though I have only ever used the original.
I've been using Dermartlogy Ageless Potent Rejuvanating Serum for quite some time. It contains 1% of Bakuchiol and I noticed an improvement of my skin.
💜 I've been wanting to try the Paula's choice retinol, I'm going to try the retinol plus bakuchiol and see how it goes! I'm trying it again a couple of decades later and my experience is totally different, thank goodness!
@@choochd I don't think it is, I've been using retinol as an adult over my whole face with no problems. As a teenager I had the prescription which was stronger and didn't know it took time for my skin to adjust so I just quit.

When I am having a flare I back off the exfoliators and use the Nizoral twice a week and elidel twice a day.
Thanks for the recs! I use Pacifica pure shot bakuchiol but I've also been wanting to try cetaphil healthy radiance renew cream as a night cream after retinol 💜 excited to try the target booster :)

I tried it too but on my face it’s already been 1 month and half I using it but the results may take more time… will give it another chance to see how it goes or I will stick with my cerave retinol
Yes I have. I prefer Beekman though
I did for two years and it was great. Unfortunately I skipped it to try out tretinoin and couldn't tolerate both of them. I stopped using tret because it aged my skin horribly. I will go back to bakuchiol after trying tretinoin for almost two years. Wish I never touched tretinoin.
@@nikname7155 What do you think of bukchiol & which brand?
I know slugging and retinol is not recommended bc it’s sensitizing ! But I use a bakuchiol serum and did slugging… honestly my dry acne prone skin was very happy of this experience !
The feeling of not being able to open your skincare bottle because your hands are moisturized😭 my problem every morning!💜
For any Indian residents : try the one from just herbs, it's good.
You mean..the plant directly? Where in India is it found & how to use?
Hi ! I’ve been using a Bakuchiol
serum from Aroma Zone
(wich I believe is a French brand) for a week now and it’s pretty similar to the target option you mentioned.
I use it too. Aroma-Zone has the best products and percentage! It's a lovely brand.
Yayyy love their Vit C too 😁
I’ve used the Indeed Labs Bakuchiol Reface Pads while breastfeeding and loved the results! Also contains niacinamide as a nice bonus. 💜
Who else remembers when bakuchiol was trending a few years ago and everybody was calling it bakukyol
One of my absolute favorite, must have products is the Acure Rejuvenating Dual phase Serum. It’s super hydrating and has bakuchiol. I love retinol - but can’t use it as I’m pregnant and soon to be breastfeeding.
Indeed Laboratories - Bakuchiol Pads
and Sephora has a Bakuchiol serum, now, too.
BAK 1%
The former is $20 CAD ($16 USD?)
and the latter is $27 CAD ($20 USD?)
💜
💜I have used the BYBI and love to add a few drops to my moisturizer.
Thanks, Cassandra!!! 🙏🌟🦋
The squalene phyto retinol serum from biossance is quite good. I have been using it for 3 month on a daily basis.
💜Thanks for making such an in depth video about that ingredient. It was so informative and impressive.
Thank you for the recommendations!
Im gonna check it out thanks
💜 I haven't tried these but going on my list of things to try. That list gets longer every day!
Thank you for all your informative content! You've transformed the way I look at skincare ingredients and the health of my skin!!! 💜💜💜
i’ve never used a bakuchiol product before, i’ve always used retinols as they’ve never irritated my skin. i am interest for sure though!! 💜
I'm in love with the magic oil from the brand Omorovicza, it is quite expensive but worth it!
Plum- retinol + Bakuchiol. Transferred my skin for better.
Not sure which will be better, but I am excited to explore. 💜
💜 Been watching videos about antioxidants in anti-aging skincare routines.
I use Kri Skincare Vitamin C + Bakuchiol serum. The also have a just bakuchiol serum. They are oil serums with melon seed oil 💜
I've been using Dermartlogy Ageless Potent Rejuvanating Serum for quite some time. It contains 1% of Bakuchiol and I noticed an improvement of my skin.
I just picked up some Boots Bakuchiol serum from Target. It’s cheaper than the BYBI bakuchiol and you get twice as much. 💜
Do you see any changes in your skin? Which is better?
I really enjoyed the philosophy nature in a jar Serum. Made a big difference in my hyperpigmentation and freckles
Thanks for this info, I will look to find any of this products, I’m very intrigued now. 💜
💜 I've been wanting to try the Paula's choice retinol, I'm going to try the retinol plus bakuchiol and see how it goes! I was on retin-a as a teenager for acne but it caused such intense peeling and aggravated my seborrheic dermatitis that I quit within a few weeks. I'm trying it again a couple of decades later and my experience is totally different, thank goodness!
I have seborrheic dermatitis, I didnt know that retin-a was contraindicated
@@choochd I don't think it is, I've been using retinol as an adult over my whole face with no problems. As a teenager I had the prescription which was stronger and didn't know it took time for my skin to adjust so I just quit.
@@TwinMamaRN How are you managing your SebDerm now?
@@choochd Nizoral prescription shampoo and elidel cream when it flares up. I use the peach and lily power cocktail once a day and the peach and lily existing mask once every week or two. I use the sweet chef Beet retinol night cream every 2 or 3 nights. It seems like the mild chemical exfoliators keep the flakes from building up when I'm not having a flare. When I am having a flare I back off the exfoliators and use the Nizoral twice a week and elidel twice a day.
Three Ships Skin Hero, it has 2% Bakuchiol. I haven’t tried it yet, But heard it was very effective.
I love love my Bybi oil. I’ve been recommending it to everyone 💜
Thank you. As always, your information is interesting and helpful. 💜 💟
Thank you. I was using herbivore. Will be switching to Bybi now 💜
Do you see any changes in your skin with BYBI?
love your content! very informational and gives me good points to do more self research! thanks💜
love the night boogie music in the background lol
YOU LOOK GORGEOUS TODAAAAYYYY GIRLLLL 💙
Thanks for the recs! I use Pacifica pure shot bakuchiol but I've also been wanting to try cetaphil healthy radiance renew cream as a night cream after retinol 💜 excited to try the target booster :)
Thank you for this Cass, I'm super interested in new research into Bakuchiol! 💜
💜💜💜 Thank you for this video, very informative!!
💜 I'll have to look into the recommendations on here when I have some time. Being that I just found a retinol product that finally doesn't react to my skin, I'm pretty happy right now with my routine.
Thanks for the recommendations! 💜
I tried the Bakuchiol moisturizer from The Inkey List and it made my skin super greasy. The last of it is going to become a body moisturizer. 🖤💜
purple heart
Thanks for your clear information. What about Medik8 bakuchiol?
