CHPWS MOS Plate Issues
Forgot to mention in review I did have one of their screws snap while shooting with an SRO mounted. Not doing anything crazy with it when it gave up on me.

Its just the perfect size, i sold my glock gen 4 , 3 years ago, i recently purchased Glock 19 gen 5 mos. This firearm is definitely in the hall of fame of the firearm industry.
What Magwell on the 17? Nice setups
Got to love the law enforcement discount of 15% and they even give you 4 extra mags ( 6 total mags for law enforcement) for free! I am ordering mine next week and am paying the extra for them to lighten the trigger down to 3lbs.
I ❤ PSA
I think Bul Armory especially the new 2024 Tac/Tac Pro and EDC/EDC Pro variants are the best entry level 2011s. A Tac Pro 4.25 that is ported from factory has a great 2.5lb trigger comes with 4 mags and 4 optic plates is cheaper then a staccato P and shoots much better while being just as reliable. My buddy has a steel frame P don’t get me wrong it smokes any stock striker fired pistol but the trigger is just ok for a 2011 imo not much better then a stock prodigy trigger. Also having to buy each optic plate at over 100 bucks a piece is a little annoying.
Awesome firearm!! I love mine!! No malfunctions with mine!!!!!!! GOD BLESS PSA!! God bless America!! God bless the constitution!! And God bless Trump!!!!!!!
Prefer the 17 with direct mill over a 47 or 47 mos. Only reason is I think it looks better with the x300.
I think alot of guys have done this. I went from glock to H&K back to glock to m&p to sig and now back to glock. As much as I want to find a better gun I'm not sure it exists.
I'm sure there will always be distractions out there - the hard part is just sticking with a capable option and training like crazy with it. But part of the hobby is admittedly the hunt for the next shiny new toy!
Currently got 2 Glocks, gen 4 22 and my newest Gen 5 19 with a Holosun 507c. Amazing handguns, always reliable and my G19 is stupid accurate with the red dot. Absolutely insane. Love my 19, my next Glock I want a G20 MOS 10mm for my outdoors camping/hiking gun.
I wanted a 17 MOS but just found out they are no longer available. I agree the 17 looks better than the 47 to me. I cannot decide if I want to get a 17 and mill the slide or get the 47
I have a glock gen 5 mos love it but be careful what accessories you put on your pistol if it's for self-defense certain attachments can land you in jail
This was really well done. Now you need to join the 17/47 Ramjet+Afterburner club!
@@zacharynelson3750 I did! Probably will be selling it though
You didn’t enjoy it on the 17/47? I’ve got one coming in the mail this week or next. Got a brand new one for $325 shipped.
@@zacharynelson3750 it’s okay. I don’t think it makes quite as much difference as the 19 sized one does. It also just feels a little clunky and awkward to me. I ended up buying a second 47 and getting it ported.
@@MagDumpGunsdid you have someone mill the barrel and slide? Or what did you use? How do you like it?
@@zacharynelson3750 www.mapleleaffirearms.com/impulse/ Should be dropping a video here pretty soon but I do like it quite a bit.
you must have gotten lucky. This gun can't be found or purchased. I don't understand why this is classified as a Law Enforcement Only gun. Just because it's black? So dumb.
@@Bullets4TheDevil yeah I agree. IMO the metal should have been all black from the jump.
@@MagDumpGuns Do you think it's worth the extra $$. I can get a fullsize polymer with 2.0 trigger and threaded barrel for $600. Also, I want to know what you think about that lose front strap on the metal.
bummer
Pmm is a pain for cleaning. It’s practically a welded muzzle device when installed properly.
@@user-hn9fr7mn3x yep, not a huge fan in that respect. Which is funny cause I really don’t clean my handguns much. It’s just the fact that I couldn’t easily if I wanted to.
Never understood the glock hype. I don’t own them only because the grip shape and angle doesn’t work for me at all….doesn’t point naturally or feel right for me. It could probably be trained out but I don’t want to do that. Ive sent a ton of rounds through every other brand and they all functioned perfectly. It’s just a polymer striker fired pistol… there are a ton… they all run and have strengths and weaknesses. Pick what you shoot best.
@@boognish593 absolutely agree with picking what works best!
Here’s my conundrum. I love the Glock 19 for concealed carry. I love the Glock 17 for Home Defense/SHTF. But with the advent of the Glock 45 I get both in one package making everything else irrelevant. Or does it? I want a 47 but it’s literally the same thing as a 45 with just an extra half inch or barrel. Logistically it makes no sense to buy one when I can use one holster for my 19 and 45. Why do we have to choose between the 45 and 47? This half inch difference between the two gives me severe anxiety. Please help.
And is the half inch difference between the grip length of the G45 and 19 even worth having both!? Why not just the 19 which will accept all Glock mags? It’s maddening!
@@magaman3048 I think the extra grip length is definitely worth something. If I were in your shoes I would go with the 47. You can always pop the 19 slide on it and use your 19 holsters, but then you get a different shooting experience with the 47 (slightly softer/slower recoil impulse). Really can’t lose either way between 45 and 47 though. Or just accept that you will probably end up buying both after a while lol
handleit edge series are excellent.
Really good video man🔥🔥🔥
How much money you lost selling all the guns just to buy them again
@@luccib7225 we don’t calculate things like that 😂
It's a Glock 17 minus 2 rounds. Glock is a Glock.
@@streckr284 it has identical grip length and capacity when compared to G17. Agree with the second part though outside of the single stacks.
Which grip did you use on the 47?
@@andrewlamarche325 Handleit sandpaper grips
@@MagDumpGuns thanks. I use talon sandpaper. I was curious what else was out there similar.
I think it is the nicest and most practical of the comps out there, but the price is definitely steep. For that reason alone, I am hesitant to buy one. I think I would rather get more ammo.
What kind of grip tape is that?
@@elonmusk8667 Handleit sandpaper grips
Epic showdown. How would you describe the ramjet on the 19 vs the 17? 19 get fewer malfunctions or is the 17 just the best?
@@KungFu_JamaisVu less malfunctions on the 45 (19) version, and I felt it made more of a difference in that application than the longer barrel. Not a huge difference though.
@@MagDumpGuns excellent, I know where to start then. Thanks!
What plate do you have for the acro?
@@12_nine9 forward controls design
Gonna be honest, I don't see why everyone is having so much trouble letting go of the 17? You in return get a 17 that is modular with a 19...
@@dpc6573 my only hang up was aesthetics. It just looks a little goofy for those accustomed to a 17. I’ve pretty much gotten over it at this point though.

How you feel about kagwerks slide stop
Didn’t work for me personally. I used to interfere with slide stop so I bought one, but I ended up changing my grip fundamentally so it was really more of a hindrance one I got my grip figured out. I’ve seen some people love them and others induce stoppages with them constantly.
I heard that the ejection is weak but you can get them for around the 320 dollar range if you use all the coupins.
My ejection has been fine but I only shoot medium to full power 124gr loads.
just lower your recoil spring weight and it will make the ejection proper again for that ammo.
I just purchased this model with the threaded barrel today. I was about to purchase a G19x optics ready but the guy behind the counter talked me into the S&W. He is a retired highway patrol officer and he said that m&p pistols are superior in every way compared to a glock. I don't know either way but I do like this pistol. I will be getting the Glock at some point, when funds allow.
30 year Leo retired here. Have the P(did the hero’s program) and have about 3000 rounds through my P and zero issues. I did notice that my support hand thumb rides high due to the high bore axis and I determined I was riding the slide with my thumb causing the slide not to lock back. Staccato mags are known for their issue but staccato will make them right if you send them back. I have been lucky with no issues with the Dawson plate with my SRO.
I have considered purchasing the Staccato P for duty several times, but each time, I get reluctant due to the cost and the issues that I hear about it. It's always good to hear from someone who is LEO. Our number one condition for duty use is reliability. If it cannot be 100% reliable, then spending $2600 (after the police discount) is not worth it. Currently, I am using Glock 17, with a modified 4lb trigger (from Johnny Glock), and it works so much better than the stock Glock. I am still not sure if I should replace it with Staccato P.
I ended up sending it back for repair and since it has returned I’ve had 200 rounds over two range sessions without any issues. Hopefully that’ll continue, but I’m still a little iffy on carrying it on duty. Hard to beat the light weight, reliability, and shootability of Glocks, but the desire to try new stuff is hard to ignore sometimes.
Hell your probably better off getting the slide milled on the 17 G5 anyway. As far as the 47, I like it. I have a G45 and I kinda want a G47 to compete with. I really like the parts compatibility. Probably end up getting another 19 G5 as well to complete the trifecta. Also I agree with you on not caring about swapping slides and frames and all that. I’ll just buy the separate gun. And I also like the looks of the 17 better, but I’m gonna do the slant cut on the front, kinda like the style of the TTI combat master.
Well Glockie On Me😂 , i like blockie. I like my All my glockies, No knockin mee Glockie😂 algo instal bump
Dude, in a Dave Spaulding class we shot with our hands covered in baby oil and did just fine. Trust me, you're fine with a Gen 4/5 grip...
I did fine for years with Gen 4 grip actually. I think the finger grooves might have helped a bit. But on the Gen 5 I prefer to have some extra traction. Is it absolutely necessary? Nope. But it sure is nice on a hot ass day when my hands are sweating like crazy.
The new M&P trigger is garbage (2.0 3.6). The curved trigger is the only striker fired trigger, that feels like a real trigger. The new one has a ton of creep, and does not break cleanly like my older M&P's. Thousands of presentations from the holster, hundreds of hours training with the older trigger with supreme confidence. Now it feels like mushy dog doo, just like all the glocks sitting in my safe. Its too far away, and I cant get proper finger placement on the trigger to consistently break clean shots. Before if you didn't like the trigger you had options, you could buy an apex like all the other sheep do, but for people with medium, or even small hands, you now have no options. To my knowledge nobody make a short reach trigger. To put it in perspective. I trained for 20 years with nothing but glocks. I could never get past a certain plateau in terms of consistency. I got my first M&P, and initially did not like the trigger because it wasn't what i was used to. Once i figured it out, which took all of a few minutes of dry fire, my shooting went to new heights. My confidence went through the roof. I buy the compact to make it easier to carry, and it has a glock trigger in it. Pissed doesn't begin to cover it.
Everyone likes what they like, but I found the flat faced trigger to be a solid option out of the box. Reach is definitely a bit further which might feel weird for you. I’m wondering if yours has something wrong with it though. In my three examples they were all very good (maybe not quite great) triggers.
Video of your rifle setup coming up??
My CS 2024 900 flawless rounds so far.
Are the cowitness sights tritium from the factory?
On this SKU yes
@@MagDumpGuns Awesome, will have to call Smith and Wesson and see if I can get my hands on a set for my standard m2.0 metal
You briefly mentioned but I just want to make sure. Did you use the mountain plate that came with MP or did you purchase a separate one?
The ACRO plate was aftermarket - FCD. I have since put a holosun 507 comp on it using the factory plate with no issues. My most recent M&P since this one actually came with a metal RMR plate from the factory so maybe they changed that.
Bought a gen 3 for sub 3 benji's and built a 17 ported Mos slide to switch out. Excellent purchase.
Yeah that’s a great find!
I paid $350 for that gun brand new 2 weeks ago. Same light as you but with a Holosun EPS green.
I have an FPC and love it so I had to get the M2.0... Love them both!
Its way over priced
Not really it was worth every penny
Thats sucks man stick with glock. I would also look at the walther pdp dont know if that pistol is allowed at your agency.
I havent used handle it grips yet.but I use the talon sandpaper grips for the last 4 or 5 years on my duty 17.
