There's a freak of nature shaking the NBA to its core. Victor Wembanyama, a giant alien whose game is as vast as his 8-foot wingspan. Making a seismic impact with insane blocks and effortless dunks, breaking rookie records left and right. Some say, he is the future of basketball. How high do you think his ceiling is?

People complain about his minutes restriction, but I think Pop & the Spurs are being smart.
They know they're not going anywhere this season, so in the meantime they get to keep their star healthy, get him experience, experiment with different lineups & rotations, and still keep that lottery spot.

      Agreed.
Even if as french I would like to see him more.
Wemby and Sochan are not enough to build a team BUT with a third guy of this caliber... the Spurs can dominate the next decade.
A new era after Parker Duncan and Gino..

Record schmecord! The Spurs know what they’re doing, and it’s going to be absolutely beautiful. I know a lot of people might think it’s miserable being a Spurs fan these days, but there’s so much to look forward to. Knowing they have Wemby on the roster brings a huge smile to my face each day. Like if you don’t have to be anywhere near an opposing player to contest or block their shot attempt the refs cant control narratives with foul call discrepancies. Pretty crazy to see how far victors come in such short time, no hype is too much for this dude !

Just like LeBron said "There is no Ceiling for Wemby"
Lets not talk about stats right now. Lets talk about Truth.
Only Wemby and Michael Jordan has done something noone in the league has ever done. Last time it was done was in 1987. (Me personally i was born in 1991) .
Im a diehard Spurs Fan. Been one all my life. For instance i still remember Avery Johnson's game winning midrange right side shot to win our first Title in 1999.
I say all that to get to this point. Ive watched all of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili careers. As a Spurs fan i watched Kobe , LeBron, KD, Kevin Garnett, Dirk Nowitzki , J Kidd , Steve Nash, etc kill us with the way they play.
Victor Wembanyama is already on that level they were in their primes. He has court vision of Steve Nash, he has shiftiness of J Kidd, He has the pullup stops like KD, He has the defense of Tim Duncan, He has shot blocking ability of Hasan Whiteside and David Robinson combined, He has that killer instinct of Micheal Jordan and Kobe. He has the Mindset of the game like Kobe.
Yes He is only a rookie. Competition will get harder every year. But Wemby is on another planet.

ROY no contest. But he shouldn't get DPOY based on blocks. He is never assigned the job of guarding the other team's top scoring big man, and they have no trouble having big games with him on the court. Contrast that with Draymond, who has no spectacular blocks but makes life much more difficult for the other team's scorer. Someone like that deserves DPOY.

@@richatlarge462 I believe he won’t win DPOY because of the losing record, not because he’s not making life difficult in the paint. Aside from his blocks, the guy has lots of steals too. Leading in blocks and steals and not impacting defense is impossible.
To your point, draymond’s defense is elite. However, you don’t consider how well GSW’s team defense is. Womb cannot guard 5 players simultaneously. No matter how great a defender he is, one defensive misread of his teammate will result to an opponent’s basket. Now imagine almost all his teammates cannot read defenses😂 or imagine victor playing with podziemski, payton, kuminga, klay, looney, wiggins… darn opposing teams won’t score 60😂

      @richatlarge462 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@reynalyndapat6284 His blocks and steals add up to 4.5 plays per game on average, as opposed to maybe two plays per game for other players. Those numbers aren't big enough compared to the total number of possessions in which defense is played. That's why you have to rely on how well a player is shutting down the other team's scorer.

I’m going to go on a limb and say the next great will be someone under 6ft tall to combat the giants of the future with speed and agility. They will be faster than prime Derrick rose and be a layup maestro capable of using all types of angles to evade the all 6’10+ line ups of the future.

Why say, “David Robinson and Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon?” Why use numerous references to superheroes? Why don’t you name his coach or any of his teammates? Why are the only other names in this video those of legends? Why don’t you use any names of comparable rookies?
The answer to all of these questions is the same… You were trying to establish an overwhelming narrative to sell to the uninformed in order that they may just chant “Wembanyama! Wembanyama!” to the exclusion of all other opinions or reason.
I completely agree that Victor Wembanyama may be the most exciting rookie in the history of the NBA. I agree that the projections for him may end in a GOAT case. But all of this is already known. This is not breaking news. This is a fluff piece. That’s it. Fluff.

Chet is 3rd option and is never doubled or tripled because nobody can leave SGA, Giddey or Jalen all alone. Being a rookie (even a second year one) in such a great team is perfect to be wide open and shine. Put Chet in this season Spurs, his shoot ratings will go down and his TOs will increase massively.
