I have the V2 on front and rear but can do with extra inch on both ends of the rear just! The v2 doesn't look to be this soft plastic like this older version 1 this v1 looks better might try hun one these standards down cheers for video
So difficult for the rear...I love the RRP Extender or the long Standard.....BUT a.) I dont know...if you load and unload your suspension the guard will rub within the lower bar...so the best would be to mount something on the lower bar b.) If that is not the case somehow...it would be okay...if it would "click in" somewhere or "bolt on" ...sadly this is probably hard to achieve. I would premount something that you barely see, so that you can quickly get rid of the mudguard... c.) To also get a bikers protection, you simply cannot go around those long mudguards. Unleazhed has the most stable one, the sks mudrocke is decent and has a extension into the lower parts as well (not long enough in my case) and the mucky nutz have an unstable thingy, but a good way to extend on a short one into that long mudguard (which is the only thing that saves your ass) God, I wish there would be quick mounts neatly hidden and you can click in whatever you see fit...a shorty for the linkage and for looks or the crazy long one. Perhaps it would need to be mounted on both lower and higher bars and can move into each other or something. :) I simply cannot stand all the zipties or velcro strips.... :)
Hello, thank you for sharing this 😊 A neat hidden clip or bolt on attachment, like what can be found on forks would be great! However there are so many different seat stay and chain stay configurations it would just be too difficult for manufacturers to do. Personally I am not a fan of cable ties and Velcro on my bike, but with the rear ProGuard I don’t mind. It does such a good job and for me, it’s certainly worth it 😊
@JakeBrookesBiking all true. Lets see what the future bringst but yeah..at least the mount would also be some sort of cable tie, or something. You probably cant avoid it somewhere along the line.
Would this be much use on a hardtail? As it’ll be in a different position to a full sus. I’ve ordered the front one but don’t know if it’s worth getting a rear one too
Hello, it would help to keep a bit of mud and dirt off the frame, but it would not give a lot of coverage and it wouldn’t be protecting any bearings or linkages etc, which is what this is designed to do. So personally, I wouldn’t bother and I would save your money 😊 If you are wanting to keep some mud and dirt of you, then I would maybe look at the MudHugger Rear Hugger or a Crud Catcher rear mudguard. I hope this helps 😊
@@JakeBrookesBiking thank you! I’ve ordered one so will see how it looks but will likely return it based on that. I looked at the two you reccommend and they do appear to provide a lot more coverage.
@@JakeBrookesBiking already managed to cancel the order for the rear so guess we’ll never know! The more I looked at them the more I’d prefer the full coverage of the mud hugger for winter riding. For now, while the suns out, I think I’ll just go with a front only
@@samburrow8099 Thats great 😊 and that is what I would do, leave it for when the wet weather comes 😊 Also gives you more time to decide on what you want on your bike.

I cannot remove the 3M paper from the black protectors :(
Have you tried warming it up a little or cooling it down? Sometimes either can help with this.
@@JakeBrookesBiking Finally I have used a cutter knife to separate the paper from the rubber. Was not easy, both were kinda "melded".
