    I am a Thai-American, and I will not endure another four years of Donald Trump! I've been planning to retire in the motherland in four years, but I am now considering accelerating my retirement to two years. 50% of my fellow Americans voted for a convicted felon and racist to the highest position in America, and for that, I no longer feel proud to be an American. I feel ashamed and embarrassed.

      Don’t feel responsible for other people’s voting decisions. That’s on THEM! Knowing the history of this country, it’s heartbreaking, infuriating….but expected nevertheless. This country is rooted in genocide and slavery - its 2 twin foundational sins; it refuses to deal with it, and the repercussions continue to reverberate. Money is its god….so people follow after a convicted felon, and those who are supposed to uphold the law stand impotent. I’m here 1 more year - I retire at 65. My mom is 87 with Alzheimer’s…not sure how long she will be here, but my plans are to sell my condo, and book up outta here!!!

      I understand where you’re coming from, it's exhausting and toxic. I’m glad to hear you have a solid plan for a better quality of life and peace of mind. My plan was originally to settle in Paris and keep building on my language skills, but after visiting Southeast Asia, I was hooked! I may still end up in France one day-who knows?-but for now, I’m loving my time living here. I was in Paris last year, and after two weeks, that Euro was hitting hard! Many of you want live the lives of children who are catered to, taken care of, and given whatever you want. That’s an asinine mindset in this century, this kind of warped thinking is prevalent amongst women like you. You can go to Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, or the Philippines, no man will pamper you and take care of an adult like a trophy. They will expect you to work and equally contribute to the relationship. Their women do it, so who are you?

      @QueenofDC  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! I have a video on medical tourism in Malaysia-check it out for more info! Malaysia and Thailand are among the top five destinations for medical tourism, and I’ve only received the best, affordable healthcare here. I can vouch that the doctors are just as skilled and reputable as my U.S. doctors, and I fully trust them with my health. The main difference? It’s affordable here, unlike in the U.S. Also, take a look at my video about my dentist in Vietnam where my cleaning cost $6-you’d never get this quality at such a price back in the U.S. Look under my Kuala Lumpur and Vietnam Travel guide for the videos. Once you research, you'll learn the difference.

    It is so nice to hear your opinions on those 3 countries. Super amazing you are showing that as black people we don't have to go to a majority black country to feel connected to our people or our planet. I'm from Trinidad and Guyana originally and still have many family even a brother there. I feel I already have options. But I know most don't. This is an excellent service. I have done a lot of traveling overseas and for me, the only way to know how to really feel the essence is to do research and take a short visit even if it's for a weekend. Your video had great information but, It would be nice to walk around town during the day showing us how you interact with locals and vendors. I would have loved to see the beaches and eateries.

    • @QueenofDC
      @QueenofDC  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I don’t have kids myself, but from what I’ve heard from families, Southeast Asia can be a great place to raise children, and there are Black moms here with young kids. Some of the benefits are the lower cost of living, good quality of life, and rich cultural exposure.
      On the other hand, there are challenges to consider, like the high cost of international schools, so you’ll need to decide if homeschooling or local schooling is an option and whether local schools meet your educational standards. Cultural differences and issues like racism and colorism are present everywhere, so it’s good to prepare. Affordable healthcare, language barriers, and educational fit are other factors that need research.
      Joining Black Expat Facebook groups for the countries you’re considering is very helpful (often starting with “Brothers and Sisters of…”). Exodus Summit for Black Women. There are even Black Mom Expat groups where you can get advice directly from parents who’ve made the move. You're very welcome and I hope this helps!

      @@QueenofDC Awww your welcome! I'm apart of the Exodus group and your video came up on my feed today. ☺ I use to travel allot when I was younger and wish I had relocated back then but its ok. I'm making plans now. I'll definitely be tuning into to hear your travel suggestions, especially after this election.

    My daughter is a law student. She recently took a trip to Thailand and has fallen in love. I’m sure she’ll end up moving there. I’m still figuring out where my husband and I should go. I’ll let you know what we decide. We’re ready to bounce!

      Thank you for tuning in and sharing! I’m excited to see where you two end up. Travelers to Thailand often find themselves returning-or even staying-they all fall in love with it, just like I did.

    🧍🏽‍♀️I like your independence. You don’t ask anyone should I go, and you don’t let fear hold you back from doing what you want to do. I’m African American, and I do not want to live within Asian or Hispanic countries. I’d rather live in Africa, or the United States.

      Thank you! Life’s too short to follow others or let their fears limit me. That’s your choice. I’m certainly not suggesting going anywhere you wouldn’t want to live or contribute to the community.

    I heard that Panama is a nice place to move to. Has anyone been there, and what do you think?

      I haven’t been to Panama yet, but definitely check out my friend’s channel, My Seasoned Life - with Mary Golf. She’s an expat living in Panama and shares great insights through her videos. youtube.com/@marysseasonedexpatlife?si=po8XNpcgHPMGjKCl

      I currently live here. We moved here this July/we're having the time if our lives. We're able to live on less than half of what we spent in America because we don't have a car because public transportation is excellent. We can take the subway from the airport to our house for 35¢. We've routinely walked after dark without fear of bodily injury but we don't leave our Common Sense at home. The food is delicious/the fruits are pesticide free. Moving here has been the best decision we could've made. As far as housing goes, you can lease a furnished one bedroom condo in Panama City for less than $1000. Water/gas are included in your lease. Electric/internet are on you. Food can be expensive if you only eat imported food. We eat the local equivalence/save 💰. Living West of the City will be less expensive. You can lease a furnished 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house for less than $1000 in towns along the new metro line that goes into operation next year. We love it here/have no plans on ever living in America again. Lastly, you don't have to exchange currency because The Dollar is their local currency. Learn some basic Spanish/you'll be fine. Sorry this was so long.🇵🇦🇵🇦🇵🇦🇵🇦🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

      @@kennyroberts2703 So true. I still live in America. I live in a quiet area of town, Residential/Commercial. Peaceful for now. I met some Panamanian, Costa Rican, German and Mexican friends through my military travels. I always said I would visit again. My plans to travel was halted by Covid, so I might plan my travels throughout the next 4yrs.
