I don’t know a thing about triathlons but i clicked this video out of curiosity and im so glad i did, such engaging storytelling and just a top notch video all round im definitely interested in this sport now!
Thanks for your POD cast with Messick , you did great job . Been following Ironman since 1985 , that company is long gone . Your interview was the nail in the coffin for me . Thank you so much, and great videos , keep up the good work
PTO Canadian open was such a good race! And Ashleigh Gentle destroyed the women’s field as well and won by over two minutes. Epic race. Absolutely love the PTO races
Your youtube videos from almost a year ago is how i found you and fell in love with your podcast and loved pro triathlon so much more. Fantastic video as per and I hope they keep coming. They're phenomenal!
Sadly, and i mean SADLY, the focus in Norway is so much on Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Karsten Warholm, which I got no problem understanding. But just as those two are world best, and Kasten has the World Record in the 400m hurdles. I think Christian Blummenfelt should get AS much publicity. I mean, he is not even on the posters. On the boards it's the Norwegian volleyball players Mol & Sørum (that also as bizarre won the gold last olympics in Tokyo), and then Jakob, Kartsen, and - it get's more insane - with now Casper Ruud and Viktor Hovland giving Norway even gold and medal chances in golf and Tennis. But why isn't Blummenfelt there? being what he is, in the sport he is doing it in, is AS incredible as the other sprots. AT LEAST AS incredible (i'm not gonna go into if it's more or not) but I mean... Give this man the respect, Norway!! And it's not just him, the whole team is LVL 100 = WORLD CLASS!! He should at least be on the billboard...
Very happy to have you posting videos again, just subscribed for more fingers crossed. I also loved the Olav interviews, would take a course on a breakdown of that one for sure, might have to re-listen and take some notes.
this is a fantastic analysis - the norwegian boys are 8% better than the best 9 pro men who almost cross the line together - the triathlon world was not ready for guys 8% better, that can switch short and long course any time and break all the records and win gold and do red bull stunt records at a whim...... incredible! by the way Kristian was a great domestique in Kona ;)
Performance boost from blood vector doping is somewhere in the 8-10% range according to data and anecdotes from no-namers like Lance Armstrong. Just sayin…
I know nothing about tiathlon. I only clicked on the video as a patriot. I had never heard about those guys. However, as a cross country and biathlon ski fan until recently, it was pretty obvious to me in the last race you showcased, that everybody would "blow their load" by going so hard too early. We've seen this in cross country skiing so many times, where someone who podiums 3rd or barely misses the podium, has something to prove and leads a race 80% of the way only to collapse and be overtaken by those who can pace themselves. I'm not sure what these Norwegian athletes are made of, it seems across many sports they can hold a crazy tempo for a whole endurance race, and a handful are even great sprinters, so in the cases where they're close to the finish line next to others, they always have a little explosiveness saved in the tank. It makes no sense that a peoples who historically and currently have been taller, larger, quite muscular, relative to most others, is so good at endurance racing. From my POV, looking around at my countrymen and women, I figure they would be great at 100-200 meter sprints, throwing events, things of explosive nature, and would fall 2nd to the central/east African peoples who are typically more suited for endurance. With Kristian getting a cramp in that last race, getting however many seconds standing still and dealing with those cramps, then coming back much stronger, really makes you wonder what kind of "secrets" we still don't know about our bodies.
What's your thoughts on focussing on long distance from a young age? Taking into consideration kelvin kiptum. Aren't athletes actually at their peak between 20-25 (also forong distance) instead of being 'better' at long distance at age 25-35 which is something now commonly beleived?
@@irondoc1251 winning WTS race is much harder then winning Kona. And Alistair did it 22 times. Alistair was so good that Kona was not on his priority list. Same as Gomez. Kristians physique is wiiiide. He’s built like a CrossFit athlete yet runs like kipchoge. Madness.
I guess he is a rare genetically exception.
Alternatively he is juiced as f - but I really really hope that's not the case.
Haha no offence, he does not look like a CrossFit athlete 😂 he has no traps and his arms are tiny.
He’s definitely doped AF…just like all the other top level long course guys.

Plenty more of this please, mate. You're killing it over on the poddy, too.
I love running and ever following this competition. ❤❤❤
Great to see you posting again, Keep them coming!
Really great analysis and engaging delivery - well done! These two Norse dudes are next-gen tri machines.
quality uploads! Thank you
great vid! these vids are entertraining and fill a large gap that there is in triathlon content, would love to see more.
