No way! it's warming and infectious Andrew! it puts us "stay inside for the day" people in YOUR shoes and certainly gave me a huge boost of "Wow" factor for the day.
You do a superior job breaking down the details. This has to be one of the most informative videos relating to the subject matter that I've ever seen. My 13 year old and I are nothing but impressed. May you get sponsored so much until you can't stand the attention any longer!!! Ha! Please keep up the good work!!!
Although I got the kit I really appreciated your step by step setup of the board supplied with the ARF. I think a lot of the problems others experienced with the supplied camera/VTX were probably from the supplied BEC which I wouldn't have used either. Great vid' :)
Andrew, thanks for the video. I was having trouble getting the servos to mix. In my radio I set up channel elev/ail mix at 50/50 on both channels not knowing that the S800 board was already programmed to do the mix and that totally confused the board. So i deleted my mix and set up the SG switch per your video and I am Ready to Fly. Thank you!
If that flight stabilizer isn't working out for you you can use any mini quad Omnibus flight controller F3 or F4 and Flash it with inav and for less than $25 you'll have a rock-solid flight control gyro stability piece of electronic equipment
Way kool Andrew, the supplied FPV gear seem quite good really. Yep maybe a bit narrow field of view but for a first timer like me it would be ok. Stabilization seem to be ok. What a great little wing it is. It is good when you can land at your feet, save lots of walking hahaha. Thanks Again for the video
Yes it's good gear. The narrow view is perfectly OK and might be better for shooting gaps. We might have to start landing further away for the exercise
Manuals? lol. I got my Arkbird system in a large envelope wrapped in bubble plastic.. Lucky for me people like you had posted a TH-cam vid on how to hook it up..
I'm going to build one of these for the first time but my question is should I use a receiver with stabilization inside the receiver? Or should I set it up with an Omnibus flight controller with inav to get the gyro on there? I don't know which would be better for this thanks
Great series of videos, I fly quadcopters but this is my very first wing, I've not built it yet but these vids should make it alot easier!. Will you be doing a video on radio setup too? Like I say, I've never even flew one before. I have the taranis, when creating a new model. I'll be selecting wing, will this set everything up automatically then or will I still have to go in the radio and adjust things? Any help greatly appreciated 👍
Here's my setup Ch1 100 Ail Ch2 100 Ele Ch3 100 Thr Ch4 100 MAX SG down 0 MAX SG down -100 MAX SG middle The FC board does the elevon mixing. Flight modes are on the SG switch The model wizard doesn't understand FC boards as far as I know
Hello Andrew, your videos are great. I have a knew S800 and I do not undestand how to activate and disactivate the stabilisation card could you please help me. Thank you in advance.
Andrew did you have to mix the ailerons and evelators I see that you had them on different channels. Sorry I'm new but can anyone answer for me? I'm having trouble comprehending the channel setup on my 9xr pro
I was thinking, Andrew, that the power from the ESC could have much electrical noice. Maybe it could be a better idea to solder in and use the chip on the distribution board instead, at least for the cams? Thanks for the video! I have a Anubis 36" wing in the prosess of maidening! Scared like hell! :-)
nice gyro drew i do have problems with the vtx your using my change the frequency everytime i supply it with power it is really strange because i'm not touching the dip switches!... do you have any idea way this happens?
Bad idea Brother !! If you have a bec use it, and dont put more load on your esc. than it needs too. Then you wont have big problems which you have not account for. Believe me I found it the hard way my self. By the way.Good Rc channel....:) Keep it up..:)
Are the elevons moving in the correct direction? Pull back on the elevator stick and they should move up. Go right on the aileron stick and the right elevon should go up and left down
Ok well I'm trying to figure out why my x4r sb only has 3 channels and your x4r is running 4 channels. Well I found out that mine is the x4rsb which only has 3 channels and sbus. And yours has 4 channels.
I think Hold Mode is basically stabilised at what ever angle it is flying at but still allows stick inputs. Self Level mode will always bring it back to level, and Manual mode gives you full control.
A better illustration would help. The two shades isn't helpful. Even noting that black indicated the switch handle would help. I notice this is an issue with a lot of video transmitters -- they select channel using dip-switches, and rarely do it in a binary format you can work out.
Stabilisation working in the correct direction? Point the nose down and the elevons should move up, lift the right wing and the right elevon should move up. (Looking from behind and with stabilisation mode on)
Your excitement and chuckles are priceless Andrew....would love to have it as a ringtone!!!
I can be a bit embarrassing
No way! it's warming and infectious Andrew! it puts us "stay inside for the day" people in YOUR shoes and certainly gave me a huge boost of "Wow" factor for the day.
Thanks Darren, I guess I can't be anyone other than myself

Thanks Gregg, I have to do videos like this so I can remember how
Although I got the kit I really appreciated your step by step setup of the board supplied with the ARF. I think a lot of the problems others experienced with the supplied camera/VTX were probably from the supplied BEC which I wouldn't have used either. Great vid' :)
Ah that could be right.
Andrew, thanks for the video. I was having trouble getting the servos to mix. Good to hear. We have all made that mistake. It applies to all flight control boards I think.
adesso il reptile s800 è molto più facile da settare per tutti. grazie andrew
auguri di buona pasqua.
Thanks,
auguri di buona pasqua. to you too

Thank you so much! I couldn't figure out why my plane kept lawn darting into the ground. It works great!
Good news!
Can you tell me how you fixed the problem thanks.
Nice job Andrew, the Stab is useful at launch time, and stops some of the constant wag, pitch and yaw wings like this suffer from...:)
This wing does jiggle and waggle a fair bit looking at the onboard
Way kool Andrew, the supplied FPV gear seem quite good really. Yep maybe a bit narrow field of view but for a first timer like me it would be ok. Stabilization seem to be ok. What a great little wing it is.

Yes it's good gear. The narrow view is perfectly OK and might be better for shooting gaps. We might have to start landing further away for the exercise
This brings back all the bad frustrating memories I had putting together my FPV Ranger.. lol
Sketchy manuals don't help
Manuals? lol. I got my Arkbird system in a large envelope wrapped in bubble plastic.. Lucky for me people like you had posted a TH-cam vid on how to hook it up..
Brilliant video Andrew , best video i have seen on this wing's set-up so far . Thumbs up from me mate ................
Thanks Scott, it is a bit tricky.
great review.S800 is a terrific little wing and great value.wait till you put a 4s in,it shifts!
Crikey, it's fast enough on 3S
Hey Andrew I have the same s800 sky shadow but my board is different from yours
I'm going to build one of these for the first time but my question is should I use a receiver with stabilization inside the receiver? Or should I set it up with an Omnibus flight controller with inav to get the gyro on there? I don't know which would be better for this thanks
Good idea replacing the esc. It caught fire when I plugged mine in
Oh wow, that would be a surprise.
Great series of videos, I fly quadcopters but this is my very first wing, I've not built it yet but these vids should make it alot easier!. Will you be doing a video on radio setup too? Here's my setup
Ch1 100 Ail
Ch2 100 Ele
Ch3 100 Thr
Ch4 100 MAX SG down
0 MAX SG down
-100 MAX SG middle
The FC board does the elevon mixing. Flight modes are on the SG switch
The model wizard doesn't understand FC boards as far as I know
Hello Andrew, your videos are great. I have a knew S800 and I do not undestand how to activate and disactivate the stabilisation card could you please help me. Thank you in advance.
All explained in the video Daniel. Modes are activated by a 3 position switch
Ok, I will look at the video again. I have a Spektrum DX6I the swithches have just 2 positions, but I will try. Thanks for your time....
I got another stabilisation card and I dont find the mode slot.

Andrew did you have to mix the ailerons and evelators I see that you had them on different channels. Sorry I'm new but can anyone answer for me? I'm having trouble comprehending the channel setup on my 9xr pro
No elevon mixing required, the stabiliser board takes care of that.
nice one Andrew
I was thinking, Andrew, that the power from the ESC could have much electrical noice. Maybe it could be a better idea to solder in and use the chip on the distribution board instead, at least for the cams?
Thanks for the video! I have a Anubis 36" wing in the prosess of maidening! Scared like hell! :-)
Good luck with the maiden! I'm using a separate battery for FPV so no interference from ESC
nice gyro drew i do have problems with the vtx your using my change the frequency everytime i supply it with power it is really strange because i'm not touching the dip switches!... do you have any idea way this happens?
That's a pain. Mine holds it's frequency so I can't help sorry
Ok thx anyways 🖒
andrew, nice guide video. Can you share the link where i can buy those stabilisation board ? thx
The board comes with the wing RCman
Thanks for the infor. I thought of getting the S800 kit set , but i can't find the stabilization board at Banggod
Right same thing here ... unwound like the kit but with the gyro board
Please, make video how to setup DLG on Taranis. With thermal flight modes and flaps on throttle stick. And launching mode.
OK I'll add it to the list
thank you
what clue can we use ;;; epoxy ;;; or Cyanoacrylate adhesive ;;
UHU Por or Hot Glue would be more suitable
Bad idea Brother !! If you have a bec use it, and dont put more load on your esc. than it needs too. Then you wont have big problems which you have not account for. Believe me I found it the hard way my self. By the way.Good Rc channel....:) Keep it up..:)
Yo Ho, I have a better quality ESC installed
How many channels are you using off your x4r?
All 4, Ail, Ele, Aux and Thr. Of course you would know that having watched the video
Whats the difference between 'hold' and
rate'mode? For me even the 'off' works/flys the same.
I find quite a good difference between either of the stab modes and OFF, but Rate and Hold seem the same.
Very Very, good
how did u enable the modes? u conky connected the jst?
Have to watch the video to see how to set up the modes. No JST on This one
Hi great vid I just built this but the left servo won't work and the staberliser won't flash
Bummer, I don't have this wing anymore sorry
Andrew Newton it's alright I just re bound it and it worked
Excellent Nicholas
Andrew Newton I'm trying to take it off but it dives straight into the ground every time?
Are the elevons moving in the correct direction? Pull back on the elevator stick and they should move up. Go right on the aileron stick and the right elevon should go up and left down
Ok well I'm trying to figure out why my x4r sb only has 3 channels and your x4r is running 4 channels. Well I found out that mine is the x4rsb which only has 3 channels and sbus. And yours has 4 channels.
Ah yes, that is confusing
Can I use a 2200 3s in this
Yes, perfect battery for it
Hi Andrew.
could you explain me HOLD MODE.
I hve the same reptail wing, NICE !!!
Thks
Nice video.
Saludos desde México.
I think Hold Mode is basically stabilised at what ever angle it is flying at but still allows stick inputs. Self Level mode will always bring it back to level, and Manual mode gives you full control.
Yes, there is no "standard" for dip-switch nomenclature, so the documentation is always ambiguous.
A simple legend would make it clear.
A better illustration would help. The two shades isn't helpful. Even noting that black indicated the switch handle would help. I notice this is an issue with a lot of video transmitters -- they select channel using dip-switches, and rarely do it in a binary format you can work out.
Andrew dc.uX
you are Newton
This video doesn't address the CG.
Correct, CG is in the build video.
Nice One.
Swapnil Nimbalkar السكس
Swapnil Nimbalkar السكس
no OSD?
No, but that would be good to include
Yeah
Stabilisation working in the correct direction? Point the nose down and the elevons should move up, lift the right wing and the right elevon should move up. (Looking from behind and with stabilisation mode on)
Andrew Newton yeah I think it's one of the servos
One moves less then the other
How can I even them out so they move the same amount
Sorry bout all the questions I'm new to fix wings
More into drones
Andrew Newton all I have to do is trim one servo up a bit but I can't cause they both move how can I move just the one
But will it slope? ;)
Actually it's not a light weight so it might struggle
