I'm thinking no... It won't go through the shield. I have seen this type of shield deflect many different types of bows and many types of arrows shot from these bows. Good armor penetration with the bow. Your arrows are carrying lots of kinetic energy to penetrate that far. I'm impressed. I would not have thought it would have penetrated that far. Turkish bows are pretty awesome.
Yes definitely an archery sniper video. Also a distance accuracy video. Also I would like to see how fast and the accuracy of the speed shooting can be accomplished by his technique. Also show up close how the technique is performed (how you hold your arrows and nock them to the string . Do you use special nock for this to get the speed shooting technique to work? I'm trying to be an all around knife, bow, and tomahawk/axe thrower for speed and precision/accuracy. Seeing how it's done from hand to target helps. By the way Adam thank you for the no spin tips. They're working for me out to twice my normal distance so far. I'm throwing knives out to 6 meters now. My tomahawk is still spin throwing at 4 meters for nearly every hit past that I bounced it
Unbelievable that the arrow went through with a field tip. I wouldn't have thought so. I myself am an "Asiatic style" archer and I would very much like to meet Michal Sodja on his home court. There is a lot of great knowledge and old traditions there. We need more zealots like Michal, in several fields..
Turkish archers were able to mow down French knights and their horses at Varna in 1444 even though french possibly had the best plated armor in Europe of that time. Most of the French Knight were dismounted because their horses were hit, or wounded so they were in incapacitated when they met to Kapıkulu soldiers which were the household troops of the Sultan.
I’d like to see these bows and arrows tested by Tod from Tod’s Workshop. I also wonder how much energy (joule) a 30g arrow shot from a 110 lbs bow can deliver at 20-50 meters.

I would make sure to say that the breastplate is not an accurate representation of a real medieval breastplate. Other than that, I really liked the video!
OK. But are you sure you didn't underestimate Adam Celadin's ability? You should check out the penetration of his knives in Slingshot channel and other videos.
@@jimmyhor78 I would never underestimate him. Breastplates were made to stop much larger weapons and a real breastplate will glance off almost all melee attacks from almost all weapons. Have a good day sir. Also Adam said himself that it was not accurate
Very nice tests. Now some people will start saying your piece of armor is fake because they are sure that arrows cannot possibly penetrate plate armor.
This comment is so infuriatingly stupid, it makes me disregard the fact that it was posted 4 months ago. I'll use 4 points to prove that the breastplate in the video is costume-grade (or fake, as you put it) armour: 1) Here's an accurate test with a 160lb (~1.8...x90lb) longbow, and heavier arrows: th-cam.com/video/DBxdTkddHaE/w-d-xo.html 2) If plate armour was this ineffective, people wouldn't even bother with wearing it, since the stuff was the most expensive type of armour. (A suit of plate armour could easily cost as much as a village or two.) 3) By the way the plate in this video folds, you can see that it is very soft (for steel) and thin. (About 1mm) This indicates that this plate was made of 1mm unhardened mild steel, as opposed to 2-3mm heat-treated mid/high carbon steel. (It's like making a riot shield out of PET the thickness of a soda bottle, good enough for LARP, but when a brick is thrown at you, you're better off without it. 4) Arrows don't penetrate the plates in plate armour, they dent them, penetrate the gaps, and most importantly, strongly affect the enemy's morale. (Being pelted with arrows, will both demoralize and exhaust you, even if they can't kill you out-right.)
@@My_initials_are_O.G.cuz_I_am All true, except for the last point I would add, "kill the horses." Knights and men-at-arms were some of the biggest threats on the field, and preventing them from hitting with a cohesive lance charge by shooting the horses was incredibly useful. And the arrows in this video were half the weight of English arrows, and about as long, which means that they have smaller cross sectional area and so would shatter even more readily on hitting hardened steel plate. This would prevent penetration regardless of how fast they're going, unless you're well into triple digit m/s speeds (which no bow is going to be doing).
@@stevumsirs I can sell it to you via watsapp facebook or mail I ll send you pictures. I assume that bows are way heavier than 60lbs I am a very bulky person and even I am having a hard time when I try yo draw.

I would be also very curious about a test of a modern compound bow (or crossbow) against the medieval armor... But I am very excited about this test either. My guess is that using a good quality sharp broad-head will make it trough.
I would guess that's not a very accurate breast plate. I've seen video of a recreation medieval breast plate shattering 1/2" arrows fired form a 120lb English style long bow. The Turkish bow has a longer power stroke and a faster velocity though. That may be the difference. I'd be interested to know if the breast plate was properly hardened as they used to be.
The breast plate looks like it was made out of 1mm steel - the sort of dress up armor for people going to a party. The 'Turkish' bows tested have very grand claims made for them that's true. The bow testing on you tube suggests an arrow weight of 360-400 grains (26g) whereas an medieval English long war-bow of the 1400's used an 1200grain (80g) arrow. There is no doubt a recurve bow is more efficient, but I don't know how well it could fire an 80g arrow. th-cam.com/video/DBxdTkddHaE/w-d-xo.html

Nice. What kind of accuracy do you get at 800 meters?
when you have 1 thousand men firing you don't care anymore.
You can't even see the target so I'd figure the aerodynamics wouldn't matter.
Just shower arrows on large numbers accuracy doesn't matter
1 soldier shoot not big problem, but if 1000 soldier shoot same time , then its would be statistic problem. That as far i know..
