loved this record so much. They really are the whole package as a death metal band. They can shred hard but don't overdo it. Thematic lyrics. Great song writing. Funny dudes. Need another record asap.

New record coming later this year. Just saw them live the other day and they played some new stuff.

"Tamborine Guy" is unfortunately a guest, but you can check out his band Black Crown Initiate. Either "Withering Waves" or "Selves We Cannot Forgive"

Holy crap this is exactly what I was hoping you would do a reaction to as this is the very first metal album I ever bought and I freakin love this album... Thank you very much for making these great reaction videos and I hope you will react to some more songs from Where Owls Know My Name :)

"it's turning into a bad trip" haha
Cool and unique band, seen them live and they were amazing. Not usually majorly into tech/proggy death metal but these guys are legit. There album has my favourite 'electronic' song ever on it (which is weird for a death metal album), but it has such a cool vibe imo. It's called Terrestria III: Wither.

Oh and btw, I persume that the reason that this song was requested so much is probably that it contains a saxophone in a metal album (there are more songs in Where Owls Know My Name where the saxophone is used).

Always a pleasure to see people react to my favorite band, good stuff brother 👏🏽 &’ they play the sax and every live show too lol it’s a real treat

This is really the only song they have that sounds like this, everything is is progressive death metal but done in a very unique way that nobody else does. Highly recommend The Silent Life from this same album 🤘🏽

Josh - just a side note regarding Rivers of Nihil. As you guessed in the beginning of the video, their "normal" sound isn't as psychedelic as this at all - they are much more in the realm of death metal, which I know is more your speed. The saxophone in the background and trippy aesthetics of this track it gets recommended a lot and are the "thing"/hook that you were referring to earlier, but better examples of their normal catalog would be "A Home" or "The Silent Life". Regardless, they are an exceptionally talented band. For a different song more akin to what you're used to, I'd recommend hearing Wage War's "The River". Wishing you all the best buddy.

One of the best albums of 2018. The only album that beat it out in my opinion was Zeal & Ardor’s “Stranger Fruit”.

Awesome band (I'm wearing the t-shirt right now) I saw them here in Adelaide back on May 9th last year as part of the 'Painted Progression' tour along with Ne Obliviscaris and one of my other favourite prog-metal bands, Allegaeon. It was an excellent show to say the least. Unfortunately the sax player couldn't make it but they had pre-recorded him. Their albums are full of surprises. Have a great weekend matey. And , yes, they are a lot less 'retro' in real life.

You got to listen to Omnipresent Perception by Beyond Creation. The fretless bass solo in that one makes me shed tears still after thousands of listens. It's techincal death metal at its finest!
