Thanks for the vids, they are great. I watched the CX500 rebuild over 3 nights and I was hooked - going to bed at 5am. As a total non-mechanic who takes my bike to the local dealer to have my chain adjusted, I enjoy seeing your top notch skills and patience.
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoy them, more GS and CX videos next week. Patience is definitely there, skill - it's more bash something and it works ;)
My cb900f with a gsxr750 engine fitted has been on hold for 2 years this summer im getting on and doing it been watching your videos again for ideas ready to start on it
I am currently in this exact same spot with my 1981 cb750 build and was having a hard time with where to go next. Thanks so much for posting this as I now know what I need to do! Cant wait to follow your progress so that I can follow along with my own. Cheers
Came home today to find my new seat in the mail; now just waiting for my hoop (which also has the lights in the back) thanks for the helpful vids! they're great!
Thanks a million. Being a newbie at this, you dedramatize the difficulty and make it seem like if we pay attention and follow good advice we can all do this (notwithstanding experience of course). That welder you used, is that what they call a spot welder?
This is actually the first time I really like the result of the rear hoop. In my opinion you didn't need to install a rear hoop on the Suzuki or the CX, just hide the frame with the seat. Kind of liked the way the CX turned out though. As I said, really like the look of this rear end. Hope the seat turns out great, good luck with that!
Yeah of course, I watch every video :D. I'm just saying that when you first got the CX and installed the hoop I was quite disappointed because I personalty really like a monoshock setup with an all leather or even a bicycle-like seat on a CX. But although that looks really nice, every CX (or Virago for that matter) is converted to a monoshock setup. So I appreciate the choices you made and how the CX turned out, it stands out! Just get them both on the road dammit! ;) (JK obviously, keep up the good work and the vids!)
Finally!! Nice progress on the 750, can't wait until the next episode. Very inspirational video for me as I just bought a 750 myself. Keep it up and have a nice weekend! :)
The hoop with its integrated, recessed rear light looks killer. I hope you find an understanding inspector who likes the looks as much as I do. This is easier here in the US where nobody really cares as long as the light is fully functional.

how do you know where to cut for hoop...???? plz reply
You measure your seat length that you want, the frame and the hoop and decide from there.
For The Bold - dreegez thanks alot...
What size tubing is that 7/8 or 1 inch?
I think might be 24mm, metric rather than imperial on these frames.
How will you out the light back in?
Check out the assembly video, it's on there.
Brilliant video mate thanks helped me a lot 👍👍👍👍👍😎👍👍
where did u buy the Hoop? i got a suzuki 750GT (1975) and im rebuilding it tona cafe racer and want to bring that rear hoop look.
I got this one from ebay.
For The Bold - dreegez any good site beside ebay .?
where i can find the tire tubes forbmy bike
There are a lot, Cognito Moto, Hookie, Dime City Cycles, as for tyres, best bet I always suggest is to go to local tyre fitters.
For The Bold - dreegez thanks.💪
For The Bold - dreegez will this hoop fit a cb 250?
Great work! Those welds look super clean! I can’t wait to weld my hoop on. What sort of welding practice would you recommend I do before doing the real thing? Haha
Thanks, in all honesty I just do trial and errors, mostly errors. :)
For The Bold - dreegez sounds like my build haha
You weld well !
A lot of errors :)
start to use flap disc to finish this welds.... :)
Yup, going to go over it with one before sending away to get powder coated.
Powercoating is great. u can go from a 120grit and get perfect results. Like ur videos. Im starting my project too soon on yt.
Tolles Video😘 mach weiter so
Thanks
Good job!
Thanks
Love the vids, but the racket in the background that you inflict on us when you're not talking is hard going!
Sorry :(
I’ve been looking at a seat/ cowl from caferacerwebshop.com would you recommend getting the cowl mocked in place before cutting the hoop to length? Thanks! Love the videos!
yeah absolutely, you definitely need the seat to mock up your cuts and welds.
Great videos and liked! Next time remove that rust on the lower tube before you weld the loop in young man....
Awesome! Thanks a lot.
Thank you.
Anyone else who’s drinking think he started cutting into the tire at 2:56?
I'm tempted to drink and cut the tyre.
Hi where did you find the rear loop. I've had trouble finding the right measure for my cb 750 -80 // Erik from Sweden
I got mine from ebay, but the metal worker there made it specifically on request at 225mm wide.
Dirty metal. Why you no cleanup the rust and old paint before welding. Prep is important!
Something tells me from your name you love metal?
For The Bold - dreegez it’s a nickname my Mitsubishi EVO has been given. But besides that I’ve been watching you since you started out and have enjoyed your content. Just got me wondering why you didn’t clean up the metal. I learned to weld on my own and number one should be clean your metal before welding. Keep up the good work...JUST CLEAN YOUR METAL. HAHAHA.
That guitar riff was too friggin loud and repetitive. Almost bailed on the video, as it fuelled my inner rage.
There's a mute button! I won't take offence.
For The Bold - dreegez
Cheers. I do love what you do in the shop. Great bikes.
