So excited about this build as I am now working on my first bike, and it's no other than a cb750 k7 (close enough to the one your working on). Spare no detail, spare no detail! Keep up the great work, very inspiring.
Can you tell us what the piece you subbed in is called and what "other model" does it come from? I'm doing a 1974 and am wondering will this same piece work on mine? Thanks!
@@forthebold Thanks! really enjoying your vids man! What is the best way to determine exactly which model (sub model ) I have? I'm having the hardest time finding the (bearings) shells for the crankshaft and pistons.
I have a spare set of those same F-series footpeg mounts. I wound up swapping them out for a set from a CB1100f because the lattice style looks super cool imo. they were a drop in fit.
This bike looks better video by video. Keep going! Moving the foot pegs back will make it look so much nicer and riding position/handling will definitely improve. As an aside, anybody who takes an angle grinder to his bike's frame is a brave man. You are my hero.
For The Bold - dreegez nothing that will directly fit without masses of fab work and money, the gear shift would make it even harder as its direct to the engine 😅
Folks, try this, get Ali plate from local metal supplies (6061-T6 5/6/8mm-or sumthin similar). Make cardboard template, rough cut out with jigsaw (you can get blades for ali, WD40 helps) drill and, bolt ali plate to frame and mount "rear sets"- direct to gear box levers are a pain nowadays due to "out of the box" sportsbikes, so linkages are hard to find-. For linkages, try, Steve at Redmax Speedshop, Norman Hyde, Dave Degens (Dresda). If you need to polish stuff up without thinning out the metal too much try Dronco kit www.weldequip.com/polishing-wheel-115mm.htm. This episode is especially awesome!! I'm in the US and we only have the CB750k not KZ. I love the bike but hate the K footpegs and have been wondering if I could easily mod a K with KZ rear peg brackets. I've been looking for the answer and here it is, you've answered my question!! Awesomeness!!!
Someone beat me to the flap disc wheel. Not noticed you using them before but if you haven't they work so much better. Love your videos, the cx500 vids have helped so much and gave me lots of idea's. Keep up the good work! #alabama
Hey man great videos. But a suggestion, can you put the title at the top instead of the bottom right corner? When looking at your videos on a phone, the title is cut off in the description and the title on the image is covered up by the duration. So you can’t see what the episode is about before clicking on it. Thanks
I find using a saws all with a short blade works fine ,without throwing sparks all over hells half acre , Just a thought 🎨😉👍🏼 Fun to watch you show though 🔧
Hey, great work, following this build in-patiently :) I know the engine needs a lot of work there, so it's not so fast as we all would like to see :D However, I'm really interested how you'll remake the rear brake line, and more important gear pedal. Can't wait. And please make a video of that :D it's the tricky part. As I have Honda cb650c with foot peg being too forward problem, its like sitting on the chair, than on the motorcycle. Good luck :)
Man you need a bigger garage. With 3 builds in there it looks like you barely have any elbow room LoL. Another great bid. Those pods look great. I like the look of those better than the cone pods. The peg relocation looks great also.
great video as always :) I was just thinking that the only thing I miss sometimes is the true sounds of the grinding, cutting and welding :) I love your editing style but what do you think of just let us hear the sound ''of our people'' sometimes hahaha :) ?!? just an idea :) otherwise love your videos :) !!!
What about the rust which is inside of the frame brother? This is kill the frame soon or later ;) Next time use some chemicals for to get off them and protect the frame. Also close all the openings which can protect the frame from rust. Honda 750 has a massive frame and I also have one. If the oxidation/rust begins inside once and if you don't do anything about it, it can break one day. You know how heavy the engine and the transmission is and soon or later during a drive the frame can be under pressure and suddenly it can cracks. I wish not but it can be really so dangerous for the person who drives it. Speak with your customer and advise him to build or buy a new frame because it's all about the safety for the driver. Just a friendly tipp Happy days! :) PS. You make great work and love your videos
Great videos! Much knowledge from all of these. Quick question tho, the motor bolts that go thru those pegs don't reach all the way thru it seems. Whats the solution?
Thanks, that bolt was from a CX500 as I had to previously grind the old ones off, having said that the bolt from the K is also now too short, so I've had to order one from an F Supersport.
Love your channel! I'm actually about to start a CB750 project myself. Question though; what are you gaining from changing to the F model configuration?
I am doing the same project. It brings the front foot pegs and controls back what looks to be about 6 inches or so. I am Doing it to my 750C because the C is set up with more of an " American cruiser" seated position and the brake and shift levers are too close to the engine casing. So close I can not ride with boots. The F brings your feet back into more of a sporty, forward leaning position that leaves more room between the controls and the cases and it also works well if you have lowered your handlebars at all.
Starting to get my 79 cb 750k together and have f brackets like these but thought i’d ask, looks like I’ll need a longer swing arm and lower engine bolt to fit the larger brackets right? Probably have to search ebay but wondering if you new a source for these two longer bolts?
Hey, just found your page.. you have some awesome content by the way.. I'm watching this build since i just picked up a 72' CB750.. i was wondering what model did you get this foot peg brackets from? i like them a lot.. Thanks again
Love the videos but a few too many jump cuts. If you just talk to the camera in one continuous shot or longer shots it seems more genuine and I think it's worth it even if it takes more time. Anyways that's my two cents, love the bikes and all!
I was able to find a set of these and I am going the exact same modification. Question: Did you use the brake actuator from the original bike or did your brackets come with one? Mine did not.
So, on my quest to getting rear sets installed on my 750, (made my own 6160 aluminum and bought a set from Cognito Moto) im wondering about those two bolts you are using to mount the brackets. Are the bolts long enough now that you added the brackets? Or are you going to have to make longer ones?
Hi A and everyone out there. I'm struggling to find an affordable pair of adjustable rearsets to put on my CB 750 F2 (1998). Any suggestions on where to look outside the beaten E-bay and consorts path? Expensive one's are all over the place but im building a lowbudget bike, as it is my first project. Thanks for any help!

Hi all I’ve got the chance to purchase a cb250rs. Question is. Is it a good bike for a cafe racer project? It’ll be my first project but you have to start somewhere right..... cheers in advance for any responses....
Hi. Love the channel and would like to know more about the bolt on foot peg mounts. I’m in the process of buying a CB750F2 and the peg mounts are identical to the ones you ground off. Would love to know more to find some. Great mod. Keep up the excellent channel. G
Awesome I will start looking around for those. I will make sure to send what I end up with since your videos really are helping me with ideas and how to do things as well.

There should be a description on your plate that’s bolted on the frame. Failing that any Honda dealer can tell you your bike by the VIN number.

Better change the carbs if you plan on using pods. The original carbs rely on a vacuum the original air box provides to run optimally and reliably.
I have a cool collab video with Motorcycle MD in the next couple of weeks on how to set them up.
