Yeah they're one of those bands that were just quietly there the whole time. Nice stuff though. (Guess it makes sense I'd remember them now. Been rewatching jyu oh sei a bit. I watched it alone in a dark room, quietly , with headphones of course, (iirc) in my single room at the beginning of my freshman year in college. Looking back, I can't really blame myself for not being more outgoing, trying to meet more people. Well actually I did try, but maybe you get what I mean. The girls on the floor stared at me like I was a disgusting freak from the getgo. My family even saw this.)
And the gay agenda had probably already started at this point, though they started subtly. Technically I still don't know if my eventually roommate was/is gay, tho he fit pretty much all the stereotypes. They itself is already highly suspect, indicative of it all being a psyop. Obv I wouldn't actually judge or condemn someone for just being gay; it's all the other hurtful sht ppl (not talking about this roommate here really) say and do that warrants punitive measures
This song has that timeless kind of feel to it. I remember listening to this years ago. It still sounds just as good as it did the first time I heard it.

I am so very sorry. My sister died almost 8 years ago. I miss her every day. I've lost track of how many times I've wished that I could simply talk to her, because she understood me far better than anyone else ever has. There are quite a few songs that remind me of her. We have to take comfort where we can❤

Waiting 3 & a half hours on line in a light drizzle on a cool May evening in the early Summer of 2012 is how this night started for me... it ended with me being second row for this absolutely incredible show. This is song always reminds me of being back in my hometown with all my family and friends and kids that I work with in after school programs. To this day, "Handwritten" is one of my favorite albums. From front to back, it was so damn good.
Takes me back to sitting in the living room with my Dad, Brother, and Cousin, playing NHL tournaments on PS4. The town in the video looks like my hometown which is just outside of St.Louis. Grey skies, blue collar, cold in the fall/winter. But not too cold to head over to what was the Scottrade Center at the time and catch a Blues game when we could score tickets.
As time went on we moved out of that house, family all went their separate ways and I moved to Texas to be closer to the woman I love. You don't truly appreciate a moment until it becomes a memory.
I'll forever be grateful for Gaslight Anthem and this song.

Saw these guys play about 6-7 years ago they have come a long way. This is definitely a great song.
Im in loved with this band since I heard their music video of "The '59 Sound" played in TV. After that , I growed up to their albums every year and in loved with them all. Since, the last Get Hurt Album, I kinda missed these guys. I know Brian started good with his solo albums now, but come on guys. You guys need to make more beautifull songs again. Your songs inspired every aspect in my life and help me through the good and bad days. I missed you guys.

Listened to this for the first time in Pandora back in the day (2013) while laying on my moms couch after a long day of work. I was dealing with deep depression and used to listen to music so I could ease my mind. This song definitely helped by coming out a random day on an online radio.

Major props to these gentlemen. I saw them once in 2008 at half strength when the bassist and drummer had personal matters attend to. The GLA remains the best opening to any concert I've ever seen. On my list of things to do before I die, seeing them in full glory is one up there along with going back to Sienna, Italy, the most beautiful and fascinating place I've ever been.

I remember when I first got out of the Army and tried to see if my on-again-off-again girlfriend wanted to try again and she said she'd found someone else (100% my fault. Thought I could do better, then realized too late what a fucking mistake that was). Just realizing that it was real this time and there was no more us after we'd been through so much and had so many amazing times. With all the other craziness going on in my life trying to adjust to life after the army and not having her there after she always was for so much, this song just came out and the station I listened to played it a lot and it helped me get through that time.

I've been listening to this song for over a decade. It was always just a 'hypothetical' song for me. I would get really sad listening to it even though I had never been through anything quite like it. Then at 33 years old, I did. The worst breakup of my life. Told I was unloved and unwanted over 1,000 miles away from home on a vacation that I was really looking forward to so we could spend some quality time together. I'll never forget her saying, 'see you on the flipside' as she drove away. A year later and I am still very much healing and making great progress, but this one still hurts. It's time I let somebody else lay at her feet, where I used to be.

Heard this song a decade ago when I was trying to get over someone. Now I'm hearing it for the first time since I've been widowed. And it brings back a lot of the same emotions of trying to move forward in life albeit with a lot more conflicting feelings.

Brian reminds me so much of Chuck Ragan and Chris Wollard in this video. He captures the thing that made Hot Water Music one of the greats-urgent, driving and melodic longing. Beautiful.
The filming of this video was so much fun. I was about to graduate from college, had just finished my finals and decided to drive to Asbury Park for this filming instead of partying with my classmates. I remember waiting in line in the rain, they played this song 6 times throughout a full set, but on the first run through when the chorus hit and we all screamed "HEYYY! TURN THE RECORD OVER!" Brian had the biggest smile on his face. I don't think he was expecting people to take to the song as quickly as they did.
I love this song. It reminds me of back when I was young and when punk rock was just barely starting to get mainstream life. It's like a perfect blend of late 90's punk and the passion of great bands like Against Me!.
I've jammed this through two divorces.....this has become my ballad. Thank you guys, all the best. Keep up the good work.

He's the soundtrack to the past 12 years of my life. And not just figuratively. Gaslight started up when I moved abroad. I listened to their earliest stuff non-stop. Then I got married around the time this album came out. My marriage was on the rocks a couple years when Get Hurt was released. Things got much, much better. My first daughter was born within a month of Painkillers being released and the second daughter was born two hours after Sleepwalkers was released.
This song gives me nostalgia to a simpler time, sounds older than it’s time.. wonderful

For years, this song has remained one of those descriptions of perfect better suited for the word than the dictionary definition.

I saw them play and hungout with them a bit in 2007 in a small venue behind a skateshop in my hometown. I didn't even know they were still around until I saw them on the shakey knees poster just now.
I haven't heard this song in about a decade. I've meant to listen to it several times over the years but somewhere along the busy dealings of life I forgot to listen. I cannot explain the emotion this song raises more than a general sense of melancholy .

This song, to me, defines the process of trying to get past a relationship. The kind of relationship that people tell you to get past and let go, but there is a part of you that wishes to linger. It hints towards nostalgia of the person you "used to be" and the realization of the person you are becoming. I loved this song the second I heard it, and have sent the link to my friends to listen to. First gas light anthem song I've ever heard and I hope they continue to make great music.

My ex-boyfriend from high school used to play his NHL game all the time and that's how I first discovered this song, and I've been in love with it ever since. During this period I was just stumbling into the beginning of my 9 year long journey of heroin addiction. Here I am sober today, and I still love this song. And I hope my ex boyfriend is happy and healthy somewhere.
