I'm 31 and still abused by my narcissist parents. But I'm glad things got better for you and hope things continue to get better for you. I hope to be finally getting an apartment soon and getting away from this Hell. I hope you have a good holiday season and I wish you all the best.

Ex step dad is now 6 feet deep and my mom is living her best life, grew up learning how to fight a grown man while trying to protect her and getting knocked out, the weak will always try to hurt those they can to feel strong. My wife and kids will never and have never known that kind of pain. This song hits every part of my heart to this day.
I unknowingly connected with you three without ever knowing it. lol And to Andres Boni, underrated doesn't mean they weren't famous at the time, but it was very short lived fame and they never did much worth mention after that album so....yea?
Dirk Diggler 151 This was when music was actually good. Now with today, I stopped listening to American music and either listened to instrumentals or German music once in a blue moon
I was born in the 70's, my teen years were 1980-1988. I thought the rock and metal i grew up with faded away, but Red Jumpsuit Aparatus, Yellowcard, etc renewed my faith. I listen to these guys more now than "my" music. I hope you don't mind an old metalhead hanging around!
I heard this song when I was 10 years old, and it brings tears to my eyes every time. My household never had domestic violence, so when I spent the night at my friends house and heard his step-dad beating his mom, I never felt so afraid in my life. What’s crazy is my friend wouldn’t even seem bothered by it 😕 I played this song a lot and dreamed about standing up against his step dad one day. This song has changed so many lives ❤️ forever in my heart
This shows that there's more to a relationship than violence and taking from your partner and that a real relationship shows trust, loyalty, forgiveness and above all, LOVE. Something I had to learn, being on the receiving end for a long while
+Crystal Jones - It's not easy, especially when you try to make excuses for the other person ("he didn't mean it" or "he was drunk" or "he apologized and I know he loves me"). It's even worse when you feel like that person needs you and if you walk away, then you're not being supportive or honoring your vows. It's even harder for people who are co-dependent, or financially rely on an abuser and feel there's no light at the end of the tunnel. Glad you were able to finally find some happiness, and yes folks, sometimes being alone may take some adjustment, but I promise it's much better than being at the receiving end of abuse. Being alone is better than being with the wrong one. As Marilyn Monroe said, "It's better to be unhappy alone than unhappy with someone..."
This song gave me the balls to stand up to me ex...he proceeded to try to beat me harder than he had ever done before, holding my kids and myself hostage overnight, but we escaped the next morning. It's been almost 10 years. Thank you.
That's truly amazing you got the strength and courage to stand up to him. Keep being awesome, not just for your kids but for yourself too. You're strong mamma!!!
Years ago when I was in an abusive relationship, a supportive friend that lived in another country sent me this song. It eventually gave me the courage to get out. This song will always hold a special place in my heart.
This is so funny you have mentioned that. This song was released my senior year at high school, and our yearbook had a slogan "unlock the memories". And this song actually unlocks a whole lot of memories from that year for me...
6 years free from an abusive relationship escaping with a 3 month old little girl. Now happily married to my childhood sweetheart and have a 4 year old boy together. I always listen to this to have a little cry and to remind myself how far we have come. Thankyou for helping me find the inner strength for our new life baby girl. ❤️
Lyric Hey girl you know you drive me crazy One look puts the rhythm in my hand Still I'll never understand why you hang around I see what's going down Cover up with make up in the mirror Tell yourself it's never gonna happen again You cry alone and then he swears he loves you Do you feel like a man When you push her around? Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground? Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's got to end As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found A pebble in the water makes a ripple effect Every action in this world will bear a consequence If you wait around forever you will surely drown I see what's going down I see the way you go and say you're right again Say you're right again Heed my lecture Do you feel like a man When you push her around? I’ve never been in an abusive relationship but I was in a relationship for 10 years that was mentally draining. After 10 years I said ‘I’ve finally had enough’ I listen to this song to remind me of the strength it took to get out. I love this song❤️
my mom showed me this song when i was a pre-teen. she had been in a long abusive relationship with my dad before she had finally left. when she played me this song she told me to never let anyone treat me badly. this song still reminds me of her and i still carry what she’s taught me :)

Just watched their concert a few days ago, and I must admit that they rocked the venue! Dayuum, my first concert, and I've fallen for this song so much! ❤️🔥🤟
Honestly this is so funny to me may 4th was the night my son was conceived and we were listening to this song it breaks my heart because she left me for a guy that treats her like shit
I'm 64 years old and just found this song. Never in this situation myself but it really hits me hard. Outstanding all around song and such a poignant message.
This song has been rumbling around in my head for over 15 years. Your mastery as a frontman was not lost on me on your Melbourne Australia gig Sep 22. You handled the power failure masterfully. It was a pleasure and an honour to finally hear you in person. And it was everything I hoped for. Thank you for the beautiful and utterfully powerful message you have spread in this song, I truly appreciate it.
Brittany Schmalfeldt i am so sorry to hear that. I hope you are ok and thoughts and preyers to her family friends and you. You will get through this. Do your best to do her proud. RIP Lea
"I finally had enough" Words that means a lot to yourself. Sometimes, being selfish will help you a lot physically and emotionally. Letting go may be hard, but holding onto things that hurts you more is beyond crazy.
My mom is sooo into this alternative rock stuff. She's been listening to it since high-school. I've been listening my entire life. She has has a major influence on my music taste. A good influence. I wouldn't change a thing about it. I love her
I'm glad you escaped and now you have an opportunity to start a new chapter in your life. As a man this song used to help me in 2009 when I was facing bullying in school.
@@Stonerteddy Bullying is also serious. It can leave traumatic scars in just the same way. There's no need to invalidate one horrible situation to shine light on another.

You’re literally listening to it right now. Why are you compelled to say this doesn’t exist? Seriously dude get over yourself. Music is great or shitty regardless of when it was made and it’s been fucken c e n t u r i e s of “born in the wrong generation, “today’s music sucks” every god damn year of new listeners and how do y’all not hear yourselves when you say this shit?
But you left! Some women don't, and end up 6 feet under. My sons will never treat a woman like property. They are protectors and young men of God. I'm so glad that you found the courage to leave a bad situation.
as a father of three girls this video means so much to me. Females need a father or another significant other in their life to help them understand that no man is worth staying with if he is abusive. Each and every female needs to be self sufficient to the point where they NEVER "need" a relationship when the person is abusive to them
Amen to that man. Yes I'm a guy but I can confirm that a lot of us are arseholes. I have at least one female friend who's dealt with that crap. Good on you for having not only a brain but a sense of responsibility. Not enough people left in this world like that.
Well said, well said indeed. People shouldn't be dependent on each other to the point where they can't live and breath (literally) even without an abusive relationship
This song was ahead of its time. It's so powerful and it talks about a really tough subject that no one wants to hear. I will always have a special place in my heart for this song. The things people go through are horrendous and it makes me happy to know that people actually care enough to voice their opinions and stand with those that can't stand for themselves.
Here in the last decade alone, there have been more and more resources for people stuck in these situations. It was almost never discussed in songs and rarely mentioned in popular culture as a whole. Thats what I meant by ahead of its time.
Yes, this song is so validating and empowering. I love how they're confronting the abuser about their behavior, saying it's not okay and almost making fun of him for needing to hurt others to feel strong. This song is in a league of its own.
In case you're wondering, this video has 92 million views and was posted by TheRedJumpsuitApparatusVevo, which the channel got deleted. That's why you all cannot find the channel and views 😘
I used to jam to this song as a teen. *I never thought I would relate to it.* Don’t know who needs to hear this, but even if you love him more than you love yourself, please leave if it isn’t getting any better.
I never thought I would relate to it too, but from the other side. Turns out i abuse her, not physically but mentally. Now it's over, she take the right action. I feel ashamed and want to be better person after listening to this song again.
They haven’t had a song out that didn’t hit me in some way. Took my niece to see them when she was 4. She sang every word save the speaking portion of Down With The Sickness. They are great.
As someone who loves someone who dealt with this her whole life, this song really hits me in the chest. She dealt with this and more and has physical limitations because of it. To the women dealing with this, you're beautiful and deserve better. You're not what he paints you out to be and your DEFINITELY capable of being loved!
Thank you for saying that. It's so hard to believe when you have been told that you are ugly, nothing and only born to make everyone unhappy. When you are told you should do the world a favor and end it because nobody will ever love you. I lived with the nightmare for 17 years. I only left because I was afraid as my son got older that he would hit him as well because my son is autistic.
wow, i have loved this song all those years ago without really knowing what it truly means until i experienced what the song is about. i am so in pain and i feel deeply for those who are in abusive relationship right now. trust me when i tell you it's gonna be better once you learn to leave and pick yourself up.
I get so emo about songs I can't even listen to music w/ a dude I've been with. Anywho, I heard this while the now ex was in my car. I sure kept it on too. Dont touch a damn thing. A damn thing! Abusive mofo. How ppl could hurt someone in all different forms, yet claim they still love him/ her, that fn baffles me. If you loved someone, you wouldn't put them through hell. My head still hurts... Its just, I think I get use to pain. Sad but true.
This song holds special meaning in my life, there is no room in this world for boys who hit women, or girls who hit men for that matter. To those guys who feel that is ok, there will be judgment for you, karma is unforgiving and so are guys like me. You will get what's coming to you one way or another. I pray that women in these kinds of situations see this. You do not have to take it, it is not your fault, he doesnt love you, he does NOT have any power over you and you can leave. There are places to go, people to run to, I beg you not to put up with it. There are good men out here, they will protect you, and help you get back on your feet. You are strong and you can live without that.
what if i come home from a long day of work kick off my boots and 2 out of my 3 children r dead and my wife is about to dunk the 3rd last one in the sink. can i run over and pop her one then?
@putrifiedpuppy disemboweledkitty You're right oh wise keyboard tough guy. You hit the nail on the head. Your parents must be proud of you for being so enlightened.

@@NicDoesDumbThings not really, other than the clowns like mgk who are trying to leech off this sound all of a sudden. I dont think this sounds gonna make a comeback :/
It is!! A lot of us teenagers are slowly bringing back the subcultures, punk, emo, goth, whatever. It's coming back, it's just that the mainstream media has so much attention that people dont know about us
I was nine when this song came out, I pretty much just thought it was a really good new song. I didn't think about the meaning because to me there wasn't one, I was young and naive
This song makes me cry because my best friend has suffered so many abusive relationships, so much that she's told I'm one of the few people who is actually nice to her. Rest in piece Koko
Thank you guys for visiting the Philippines, your songs makes me who Iam and I really love all your songs back then when I was in highschool and up until now, unfortunately Iam not able to attend to your concert here because too busy at work, but I really wanna thank you guys for visiting the Philippines, Love Love
This song was on MX vs ATV just brings me back awesome memories of my big brother and I now we both are grown and barely see eachother crazy how life changes so fast
I played this game on PSP. I was 6-7 yo so I didn't understand what to do there but I listened to this song. 11 years later I'm 18 and Spotify recommendations gave me to hear that again. I couldn't remember when did I hear this earlier and finally I did. Masterpiece
Had Untamed on my Ps3 and I have it on my PsP now, I'm pretty sure I can sing along to like every single lyric at this point. That game is the most nostalgic thing for me, running upstairs to my uncle's ps3 at my grandma's house when I was like 8 years old, popping this game in and riding around the map with the giant dinosaur statues and the Ferris wheel. Good times.
4-3-19 ....I found myself watching 90's top songs and after that I searched Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue, and this was in the related. I Rocked on to this in 2008 when a friend put it on my i-pod touch. Good times, not forgotten.

This was one of my first ever favourite songs back in 2009. At 5, I couldn't even make out what they were saying, let alone understand the meaning. But the vibes, notes, and instrumentals do such wonders, and I could tell it was a sad song about a serious topic. Even at that age. I love it
True I think I remember this song. Sad there's not enough people like this anymore sometimes it makes me want to go back in time and fix a few things were I just hid in my room instead of going out so much, maybe things would have been less dramatic.
I worked for a radio station when these guys were promoting "Face Down". They were on my show the day the lead singer of Boston died (Brad Delp). I was pleasantly surprised when the lead singer felt my pain that day. We talked about how "More Than A Feeling" was one of the best songs ever recorded. They were all really nice guys and I liked this song too. Yay Florida!
Y'all acting like if you met a big band, you'd keep quiet about it and not comment about it when listening to their music on YT Like, it's not farfetched at all. There are millions and millions of people on Earth, there's bound to be people that meet them and talk about their experiences lol
A punk rock band, of men, in the early 2000s, created a song that has impacted sooo many people who have experienced abuse and gave so many people the power to finally get out. Thank you for having the courage the sing openly about it, and be so raw and real. Thank you for speaking the words for many of us who didnt have the courage to. Way before their time in the feminist movement. I can say from personal experience, this song portrays a slight image of the reality for an abused women. I hope SOCIETY has finally had enough supporting this patriarchal society... its time for a change.
This was some GENIUS portrayal of being in an abusive relationship. The fact that the boyfriend wasn’t shown literally, only the things that he was throwing. Great observation. I'm sure you'll kick ass. All the best.
Ironic thing is women throw items more then men.
This song actually helped me to come to terms with my past relationship and how abusive it was and helped me leave, it's the perfect portrayal.

+Crystal Jones BE strong :)
+Natalie K. great post. I spent a lot of years in codependent relationships before I even realized what they were.
This song gave me the balls to stand up to me ex...he proceeded to try to beat me harder than he had ever done before, holding my kids and myself hostage overnight, but we escaped the next morning. It's been almost 10 years. Thank you.
This is so good but you must hear “Whispering Wolf” or “City” by SLT 🏙️🤘🔥 and wait for the drums to kick in 🦵🥁
That's truly amazing you got the strength and courage to stand up to him. Keep being awesome, not just for your kids but for yourself too. You're strong mamma!!!
Years ago when I was in an abusive relationship, a supportive friend that lived in another country sent me this song. It eventually gave me the courage to get out. This song will always hold a special place in my heart.
I'm glad you got out. I hope you're doing well
I’m glad to hear you got out. No one deserves to go through that. I’m glad you had a friend that helped you get out of that

Lyric
Hey girl you know you drive me crazy
One look puts the rhythm in my hand
Still I'll never understand why you hang around
I see what's going down
Cover up with make up in the mirror
Tell yourself it's never gonna happen again
You cry alone and then he swears he loves you
Do you feel like a man
When you push her around?
Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground?
Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's got to end
As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found
A pebble in the water makes a ripple effect
Every action in this world will bear a consequence
If you wait around forever you will surely drown
I see what's going down
I see the way you go and say you're right again
Say you're right again
Heed my lecture
Do you feel like a man
When you push her around?
Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground?

Face down in the dirt
She said "This doesn't hurt!"
She said "I finally had enough!"
Face down in the dirt
She said "This doesn't hurt!"

One day she will tell you that she has had enough

Leaving my abuser was the hardest thing I had ever done. This song actually helped me. Very lonely years.
You go girl😊
Mrs G you’re gorgeous af don’t need him. Hit me up sometime
You're a fucking brave woman. Congratulations. ❤️
Good for you no one deserves to be abused i hope you find the one that will treat you loke his queen
LOVE !!! WELL SAID & VERY TRUE !!!
You're a wonderful father for thinking this way.

This song was ahead of its time. It's so powerful and it talks about a really tough subject that no one wants to hear. I will always have a special place in my heart for this song. The things people go through are horrendous and it makes me happy to know that people actually care enough to voice their opinions and stand with those that can't stand for themselves.
Domestic abuse has been around for a very long time.. not sure what "ahead of its time" meant

Do you feel like a man when you push her around?
Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?
Well, I'll tell you, my friend, one day this world's gonna end
As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found

Face down in the dirt,
She said, "This doesn't hurt."

The scene needs to return, it was never a phase, it's who we are
The music is returning somewhat at least
@@NicDoesDumbThings not really, other than the clowns like mgk who are trying to leech off this sound all of a sudden. I dont think this sounds gonna make a comeback :/
It is!! A lot of us teenagers are slowly bringing back the subcultures, punk, emo, goth, whatever. It's coming back, it's just that the mainstream media has so much attention that people dont know about us
YUP
It took me many years to realize exactly what this song was about... And it hit me heavily. God bless this band for shining a light on domestic abuse.
cora finan lol really? It’s really obvious even if you haven’t seen the video you can tell by the lyrics
I was nine when this song came out, I pretty much just thought it was a really good new song. I didn't think about the meaning because to me there wasn't one, I was young and naive
a catchy song about domestic abuse
hits home
This song makes me cry because my best friend has suffered so many abusive relationships, so much that she's told I'm one of the few people who is actually nice to her. Rest in piece Koko
Who's here with me still listening to this song up till now? This era never gets old!

This song was on MX vs ATV just brings me back awesome memories of my big brother and I now we both are grown and barely see eachother crazy how life changes so fast
Yep mx vs ATV untamed I think on PS2 haha good times or was it unleashed
Good times.
Had it on ps3 and i had pure
Wow time flies. That game is forever golden
One of the most underrated songs ever
except it played nonstop on fuse tv for the first 4 months it came out...
"Underrated" what?
I don't know man, it looks like it is pretty well rated because of the 14 million views.
Religious based bands usually don't get much recognition, but these guys sure did.
Nitro192 Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it's 1 of the songs on Saints Row 2, Which is hard to get a song on for Saints Row.
who else is on a nostalgia binge?
Going back to my middle School days actually lol
Right here. Lol
4-3-19 ....I found myself watching 90's top songs and after that I searched Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue, and this was in the related. I Rocked on to this in 2008 when a friend put it on my i-pod touch. Good times, not forgotten.
jingerstorm I have a whole playlist of emo music from 5th grade
Drinking and remembering my teenage years. FeelsGoodMan
This song has absolutely amazing guitar parts. Well written!
This needs to hit 1 billion
It’s an insult it hasn’t only the meaningless music of today has. 😒
[LYRICS]

Yes🔥
The message of the song is awesome as well!
This was one of my first ever favourite songs back in 2009. At 5, I couldn't even make out what they were saying, let alone understand the meaning. But the vibes, notes, and instrumentals do such wonders, and I could tell it was a sad song about a serious topic. Even at that age. I love it
This dudes voice give me goosebumps really beautiful
Song so badass that the title didn't even show up
They deleted all but this song, it's too powerful to be delete.
Mine just literally deleted everything BUT the video lol
The channel was literally removed, but somehow the video refuse to die with it and now then channel has been restored.

This NEVER gets old!!! Timeless song I’ll listen to til I’m 90!
This song randomly popped in in my head. “Do you feel like a man, when you push her around?” Still love this song
True I think I remember this song. Sad there's not enough people like this anymore sometimes it makes me want to go back in time and fix a few things were I just hid in my room instead of going out so much, maybe things would have been less dramatic.
I do, thanks
Yes
This song was one of if not the best alternative rock song from its era. Still jam to it and use it in my drumming warm ups. Love it!
its good but they are from where I live and its based on a true story at a gas station right down the road. so its pretty heavy feeling to me.
But your Guardian angel is the best song from them
2016 and this song is still fucking badass 💕💕💕👊🐨
yesssssss
so true
yes
yep
+Kelsie Ronke nice pic bro!
@Frogger True story.
One of my favorite
Beat it nerd, this isn’t Reddit
Y'all acting like if you met a big band, you'd keep quiet about it and not comment about it when listening to their music on YT
Like, it's not farfetched at all. There are millions and millions of people on Earth, there's bound to be people that meet them and talk about their experiences lol
Thank you for sharing your story.
