Thank you Hoon! I cleaned my barista pro as you shown in this video. Vacuum cleaner was a great idea, I tried my portable vacuum cleaner I use for countertops but I had to pull the big one when I removed everything.
Another thing is I shaped and used a wire to remove the part at the bottom. Also I used a clean and dry toothbrush which is usually the best tool to clean parts like these.
Overall this was very helpful and awesome as always. Thanks!
This was so helpful - thank you! 🙌✨️☕️ Our coffee time is back on track!
Hoon, I watched this 11 hours after your live and I noticed you did not remove a washer within the felt.. so when you vacuumed to clean it likely got sucked into your vacuum.. when you reinstated the pieces the silver color washer was missing and the copper color is visible within the felt where the grind fan was reinstated on. You may be able to retrieve it in your vacuum if you have not cleared off your vacuum! Have to tell you, like your work!
I second this. You accidentally sucked up the final washer. Because when I watched this video I saw that I still had one more washer to remove but he must of missed it.
Thanks for this video! Just fully cleaned my grinder for the first time.
Hi Hoon. I am hoping you will do a video on replacing O-rings in the Breville Barista Pro. My pro is four years old and the internal brewing hose is slightly dripping water on some internal wires causing a surge and flipping the outlet breaker. No one seems to have done a video on replacing O-rings?
Looking it up, it is called the "grind fan assembly", part number is SP0001576, the part was for the BES870 Express, though. You might want to compare your Express grind fan with the Pro model grind fan, to check and compare the condition of each. If they are the same, you also might put the Express fan in your Pro machine, to see if your grinding improves. Hope you can get it.
Did you ever manage to source the fan assembly i think im having the same issue
You're awesome thank you so much for this video tutorial all explanation were on point I needed this to fix my Brev.Bar.Pro. same issue happen to me.👌🏽👏🏽👍🏽💯
is it bad if i forgot to switch my grinder setting all the way to 30 before i took it apart?
Sorry, can you let me know the link to buy the soft white ring.
I am unable to remove the burr 4:58, does it mean something is stuck and I have to get it repaired?
Hi Hoon. Do you ever change the silicone group head gasket on the Brevillle Pro? Odd that Breville sells for Express but not Pro.
Hoons, did you just vacuum the washer that are on top of the metal ring at 7:51? Because when you assembly it as 13:55 the washer is missing.
I noticed the same thing. The manual shows the washer on the section where they explain how to do this same procedure. He missed the washer and sucked it out with the vacuum. He for sure had a huge headache afterwards trying to dial in his grind. That missing washer makes the center burr sit lower therefore making the clearance with the outer burr wider than it should be which means that even in the finest setting on the grinder and even on the outer burr he won't be able to get the finest grounds. If he didn't figure it out he probably thought there was something wrong with the machine. Ask me how I know all this. LOL. I just got a Pro from a friend and just to get a decent fine grind I had to set the grind setting to 1 and the extra adjustment on the external burr also to 1. Anybody who followed this tutorial to the T was missing that washer and probably lost his/her mind trying to figure out what happened
I did the exact same thing thanks for your comments I hunted through the vacuumed bits and found the washer
Do you get the product warranty from Breville ?
This is more then 2 years old.
It always always gives trust when you click on a title like "How to Deep Clean Breville Barista Pro Built in Grinder", and you see a man who was thinking at least one step ahead about everything.👴🤔
I mean, the order of things: normally you go through it before you film it. That makes it all smoother, no föcking around with camera's or flimsy lights, no (@14:00)dirty grind fan going back in, or no lower burr (@14:09) going back without cleaning. For that matter there was old coffee residu left in every corner (after 13:30).❌❌❌❌
Is this DEEP CLEANING⁉ Those are 4 strikes, so an extra kick after you're out.👴🤷♂
