I mean, correct me if I am wrong, but you can see from his screen that it is pre-recorded. He performs over the already tracked take. Could be a one take, could not.
@@DanailGeorgiev What you see on the screen is most likely just the playback of the whole actual song that he's using to actively track over. It also wouldn't make sense for the audio-visualizer to look like that if it were a pre-recorded guitar track, because 1:43 - 1:47 would need to look completely muted.
I love how whitechapel does these playthrough no matter if its drums guitar or vocals they know that they have fans who play their stuff or do covers of their songs as a guitarist myself i love this
"1 take" should be the minimum standard for covers and play throughs. If you cannot play it cleanly, up to speed, and all the way through, you cannot play the song and are wasting my time. great song. love your playing dude!
I 1000% agree. What's the point of even saying "1 take"? Especially for vocal covers. My bare minimum expectations of a cover is that someone can do said cover start to finish. IDC how good or bad it sounds or if you mess up, at least make it to the end. And if said someone has multiple clips sewn together to make a full song, so that they can pause and edit and whatever else, then I don't want it
I’ll be devils advocate here. How do you expect 1 person to play 1 song, once, in 1 take, when there are multiple tracks in that one song? You can only play 1 instrument at a time and if you want to hear them perform the song, you either listen to backing tracks, or listen to 1 singular track, or watch an edited video where the player performed the different tracks at different times all spliced together into one video
@@PigglyWigglyDeluxe The same way a musician performs a song on guitar with multiple guitar parts. (Meaning a live recording of them playing on top of the drums, bass, and vox) if you want to be fancy and have multiple live recordings going together so you can harmonize for bands like a7x, bullet for my valentine, etc you can do that. 👍 The point of my post is people are doing "covers" of songs with prerecorded multiple takes per section of the song while on video they are miming on the guitar. That is not a cover and you cannot perform the song.
Goddayum that poster in the back right! I’ve been to that show in cologne back than, 8~10 years ago! Still to this day I think about it regularly, one of the sickest shows I’ve ever seen! And first time seeing acacia back then! What a night 😭🙏🏽
sickkkkkk!!! hearing some things in this thats hard to hear in the studio version. you guys should do a full guitar playthough of this all 3 like you did for lost boy
This would have been a great opportunity to have all guitarists play. You guys should have dropped a new track. Idk who makes the decisions for your band, but you guys missed a great opportunity. Just my opinion. You all probably won't like it.
We should just get a live studio playthrough with the whole band. That would be sick
That would be awesome!
Then listen to the song!
@@eddiegarcia343songs aren't recorded in one take

@@bolivao8712 I think it would mean an in-studio performance basically. I'll fuckin take it.
No cut edits, no post-mixing, just a dude chillin in a room shredding. Love it.

Agreed man, the last two especially can only be described as pure art

The picked-notes transition to tremolo from 0:50-1:03 is fucking TITS

What effect is he using at 0:45 to get that drop?
probably a Digitech Whammy DT Drop
Using an expression pedal to control the pitch shifter in the Kemper
This is possibly the heaviest song I've heard.

Sleigh...er...SLAY 🤘
Does anyone know if he uses the whammy pedal to detune 1:08 or is it midi controlled through reaper/kemper ?
pretty sure he's using a drop pedal. You can see him put his foot up on it and then lean forward.
from what it looks like he uses the pedal
I am using an Expression pedal to control the pitch shifter on the Kemper, not using an actual whammy pedal
@@AlexWadeOfficial thanks 🔥
now bass playthrough!!!
When are we getting hyms of dissonance, guys ?!
I can play the first 25 seconds of this song on guitar !
is he still using dimarzio?
Can someone tell me what tuning whitechapel uses? For 7 string
