I went to see my dad today, he’s 93 in a care home, i grew up watching Geoff with dad, cheering him on, dad was visibly upset when I told him he’d passed away, 😕 Geoff was absolutely unbelievable and an absolute gent, met him once at aviemore Highland games, when I was a kid, I still go on about it now , and I’m nearly 50, ! never forget that day , condolences to his family and friends, RIP sir
I remember watching Geoff Capes with my dad as a wee girl. He saw Tom's potential, a kindred spirit and like both of you just a lovely big guy. Thanks for doing this, and RIP Geof you legend.
I met Geoff 3 times and he was always kind, encouraging and friendly. I competed at a country show in caber tossing, and Geoff put his kilt on me. It wrapped around me 3 times. What a legend. RIP big man.
Guys , Geoff was my child hood hero and one of the reasons I got interested in strongman . Hello was on everything from TV commercials to annuals and even my breakfast cereal boxes . Hello will always be a legend and now will look down on the sport from up above in proudness of what he and others like him have created . Thank you Luke and Tom for this lovely tribute . Kind regards Mark and Emily
Very sad to hear that Geoff has passed. I had the pleasure to meet him as a kid in 1980 & he inspired me to train hard & do the best I can in what ever I do . Rest in peace Sir

Its so sad to hear of Geoff Capes passing. He was a household name to so many people back in the day. Watching WSM at Christmas with my family is one of my best memories of being a kid, in awe of Geoff and the others lifting those weights. Hearing the news took me back to being a little boy again and all those memories came flooding back. I do hearing the phrase 'who do you think you are...Geoff Capes?' Ha. God bless him and RIP to my childhold hero, Geoff Capes
RIP Geoff. I remember him pulling Santa's sleigh, to turn on the Xmas lights in my local town as a kid. A true inspiration. Me and my dad would sit and watch WSM every year.
A true sporting legend who will always be remembered for his achievements and a very nice person to. Came across Geoff quite a few times on the Highland games circuit especially at Braemar Highland gathering. Even though I competed in the running events he would always find time to speak to you and ask which events you were competing in and give words of encouragement.
RIP and yeah grew up with him on TV 💪💚 Lovely way to show respect and remember him lads 🙌 I remember everyone of those WSM TV shows, New Year in the UK, sat with my Mum, Dad (RIP) & Brother ❤
Was sad to hear this yesterday. I was thinking about talking to Luke in Vegas about how Geoff Capes was my intro to strongman, watching him with my Dad. He was also quite the TV personality. Seemed liked a genuinely nice guy just like yourselves. A lovely tribute. ❤
Nicely done boys & very sad news in his passing. I grew up watching strongmen and this era and it was such an awesome thing to admire. Geoff was a true champion.
I watched him at an event, he was huge. My mum sent me up to get his autograph. As i walked away he picked me up by the scruff of the neck and told me to say thank you. He was a joker with the crowd.
A great tribute, guys. Thank you. Feeling his loss all the way over in Australia. He's personally been a big inspiration to me as well. I've wtached those old WSM's so many times and I just love watching his era. I'll be rewatching them all again now.

I reckon if Geoff was competing today at around 25 to 30 yrs of age he'd be winning Strongman competitions, he was very athletic as well as strong.
