Thanks, I try not to let stuff bother me... but sometimes it does and I just edit it out. 😉 😂

@@RebuildRex It is nice to be able to edit things out. But you can't do that if you are live....Have you ever gone LIVE? Ruthie May 4, 2021

I’ve thought about doing a live video but I’m afraid that no one would watch it! 😂

Another great video Rex! Why is there a overspray “cloud” when spraying single stage but not when spraying sealer? Found the #easteregg

I typically spray single stage at a higher pressure which creates more overspray. Thank you for watching! Great job finding the Easter egg!

Another great repair on a car so messed up it looks like it hit everything except the snack bar before coming to a stop.

On a lot of your videos I see front end damaged SPEC Miatas. Prior to the repairs I've seen numerous large packages of replacement sheet metal. I am curious as to the approximate value of contents in said boxes. Some of your videos indicate customers elect to replace damaged parts with used items. Is the price difference significant?

    • @RebuildRex

Typically used parts are less expensive and as long as the part is a bolt on part there usually is no additional labor costs. Mazda Motorsports gives a racer discount for the new parts so sometimes it’s a matter of availability on used parts vs. new parts. Thank you for watching!!

    Rex,
Is the customer the race team, driver, or the track? Do you charge the same as if it was an insurance job on a street car?
Sorry if this is rude to ask. Don't feel like you have to answer. Especially public like this.
The reason I ask is because most of those cars would be write offs if they were insurance jobs. The race team, driver, or owner must see value in paying to fix it over building a new car to race spec.

Most of the time I deal directly with the race team but I like to think my customer is the owner of the car and the race team. Insurance companies do offer track insurance and I have worked on a couple of cars that had insurance but mostly it is the owner that pays for the repairs. These race cars are worth more than a street car of the same make and model because of things like cages that typically cannot be transferred to a new chassis. But in the end there are two factors that determine if a race car is repaired vs. replace and those are cost and time. If the cost are equal for repair and rebuilding a new chassis then time is the factor, most of the time we can repair a car faster than a new chassis can be built. Hope this answers your questions and thank you very much for watching.
