Rusty Broken Meat Cleaver Restoration - Restoration Videos
Hi again my friends, we are meeting again after just a small amount of time. And yes, I have prepared another cleaver restoration video for you. This is a different meat cleaver other than the one in the older video. Handle is oval shaped and it has a hook. Not diving into deep details, I invite you to start watching. Enjoy. See you in the next project, take care.

That really came out sweet. There must have been at least a pound of rust that came off the knife at the start. But, the thing I liked best was seeing the handle being made and installed, a most excellent job young man.

The hook is useless now tho, its supposed to be a hook you can use to move big pieces of meat easier. The angle of the hook is not going to be easy to dig into anything. It does make for a great hook to hang the cleaver on the wall.. as you shown in the video. 😄
However very nice craftsmanship and it looks very clean!

    I have a question:
Why do you heat up the tang to fit it in the handle? If metal expands when it's hot and contracts when it's cold, wouldn't that make for a looser fit when the tang cools?
There's obviously a good reason for it, otherwise you wouldn't do it; I just don't know said reason 😅
