- Antique rusty meat cleaver restoration. In this video I showed the restoration of an old rusty meat cleaver. I think the cleaver was made in the first half of the 20th century. I decided to restore a rusty cleaver. I removed the rust from the blade and sharpened it. I made a new knife handle from walnut wood. I hope you liked my restoration.

Outstanding work. Such a great restoration 👏👏
A very interesting specimen. Some butcher shop/factory would be very happy with it 😀.
I would never use this cleaver - it's just too beautiful.
Perfect

I want!
Wonderful job! Loved everything you did. I have one question; Why didn't you apply epoxy on the scales before riveting them?
you dont need both, you do either or. i make knives and when im applying the handles, i either glue them with pins, or pean the peans with no glue. the second method is best for a tool u know will need more frequent handle replacements. just like you wouldn't glue an axe handle to its head
@@mariomurcia7509No one will ever replace that handle again 🤷🏻♂️. There had to be glue 😐.
And there should have been a greater bevel at the top of the handle 🙂.
So, literally every blacksmith on Forged in Fire is wrong?
Amazing work sir! Do you sell items you restore?
If he doesn't, he should!
Molotop😊🎉😊

Вітаю.
На мою думку в той отвір, для підвісу. Треба було вставити якийсь люверс чи латунний циліндр.
Так, було б краще, але люверс відповідного діаметру потрібно зробити, а для цього потрібен токарний станок...
Nice work but the finishing stage on the blade is superfluous, I'm really not keen on the hammering style and for me a cleaver must be mirror polished.
100 years old? No chance, I have shirts older than that axe, doubt it is much more than 10-20 years old

How long did that take you?
No way it’s that old. It’s cut on a CNC machine.
Ok negative nansy
it may be cut now, but it's an old cleaver. In the description I wrote that it is the first half of the 20th century
That is a very modern axe design, definitely not more than a year or two old
I hate that you fix with that kind of minute thing 4:19 Can you cut that part?
In my opinion, the finish should have been darker
Але це не знахідка?
Ні, це не викопаний предмет.

Maybe 1...2 years old... left it outside to rust.. to make a video for TH-cam 😂
Have you even watched any of his other videos?
@@lordtukine of course I've watched...
the shape gives it away, but the rust definitely is not over 5 years old
Couldn't it have been in a barn for most of those years?
@@mariomurcia7509 definitely made with modern machinery like a waterjet cutter machine.... and probably used some acid to rapidly rust....
The handle is really nice. But I don’t like how you hammered dents into the head of the axe. Should’ve just left it the way it was.
don't you ever get tird oflooking
