There are so many TH-camrs out there that will take a tool or a piece of machinery, hit it with a wire brush, slap a coat of paint on it and call it a “R E S T O R A T I O N” (In your dreams!). You sir are the real deal. Pure perfection! Always enjoy. Thank You!
My favorite piece to date! Beautiful attention to detail, when I saw the end result I thought "That is so pretty, I would use it in the kitchen/dining room for dispensing olive oil". Excellent!
Perfect illustration of why the threading file is necessary. I've been wondering why you don't just use the good 'ol tap and dye - now I know. The "HMM" 🧐 tool set always gets a chuckle! 😅 Amazing job, as usual. 🎉
As an arachnophobe, those spiders freak me out but got me thinking. Turkey being a hot country, you must get some NASTY big spiders. 🙀 Gives me goosebumps EVERY time. All that nonsense aside, you are an artist my friend. You do such a great job, the tools end up looking like art rather than tools anymore. Great work and thanks for the entertainment. 👍
Everything you work on turns into functional artwork. With all your skills, being patient is at the top of the list when it comes to creating things of value! Good work Sir.
Just had a crack at restoring my own wesco oil gun, lots of fun and cracking result,if I say so myself. Watched this a bunch of times, thanks for the inspiration 👍👍
Same here in Lisbon Portugal! One thing though I'm not much of an animal defender when it comes to spiders and cockroaches...I'm more of the hit with a slipper kind...
This should be on the top shelf of a fancy bar! It looks like some sort of expensive mixing contraption that a bartender would use. It is absolutely stunning!
Nice work! It wasn’t till you painted it green that I remembered the other green container that hung around gas stations in the 50s about the same size and color was the compressed air water sprayer for washing customers windshields, it had an air valve like a tire valve and after filling with water you would add air to build up the pressure to spray out water as needed. Much rarer than the oil can pump! If you can find one to restore they’d make a perfect set!
Great work and good morning from Tallahassee, Florida! You helped inspire me to collect many of the tools that belonged to my grandfather and his father and begin bringing them back to life.
@@wllscrlt There is a _slight_ difference, as "Mechaniker" only refers to the people involved in the profession (as in, "I talked to my mechanic"), not to the field of mechanics in general (which would be "Mechanik"). And "my mechanics" clearly refers to the second meaning, not the first; there's never been anyone else on the channel except for himself, so referring to a group of mechanics that are "his" doesn't make sense. Now, if this channel had been named "Meine Mechanik", it'd be ironclad.
Beautiful, I like old oil cans each one is a small object d’art and you certainly brought out the best in this one. A job really well done, thank you for posting it.
(Arachnophobia cw) A lovely restoration and bonus close-up footage of the most BEAUTIFUL spiders! The little abdomen wiggle! The pedipalps! The precious furry little legs aaaaaaagh they're gorgeous. Absolute babies... and the oil can looks amazing in matte green. Really makes you want to hold it in your hand. In conclusion, good video good textures 10/10.
You are my hero! You are such a perfectionist! Thank you! You have inspired me to restore rusty tools that I inherited from my father in law, tools from 1950's... I will do my best with the tools and resources that I have to restore them as close as to the original state. Thanks again!
I'm a bit of an arachnophobe, but it was kinda cute in the beginning how it seemed like they were "playing". I know they were probably fighting or something but still seemed kinda cute.
might be the best before/after restoration I've seen on youtube (including channels like my mechanics, odd tinkering, and tysytube) you are very talented, I would be proud of the work you do
I wondered the same thing. Exact same format. Same filming. Even same copper restoration, recipe, Saran Wrap. He almost said “I make a new one.” Haha. The lathe and machining work on my mechanics is amazing. That guy can make/restore anything. This channel is pretty good though too. Glad I have some more restoration videos to watch now.
Salt, flour, and vinegar wrapped in cling film .... you absolute genius! I will definitely be trying that on some old brass handles from an ancient toolbox that are quite intricate. Subbed! You've quite some skills :-)
I've also seen ketchup used quite effectively to clean brass. Blew my mind (though, lots of salt and sugar in ketchup, so it's probably basically the same reaction).

Dorothy never could have oiled the Tinman if his oilcan was in that kind of shape. She must have found your version.
Why where some of the other footage deleted?
I hate spiders

You are just witnessing the repetitive work of MY MECHANICS..this guy here does the exact same thing, same colors and same projects as MY MECHANICS..
@@paulmartinez9908 yep! He's just a copy cat. From the work, editing, logo, and the name. Even "I'll make a new one" is an imitation.
Nicely done 👍👍👍Thanks for sharing
👌
You manage to turn regular everyday objects into works of art. And I enjoy every minute watching you do your craft. Another awesome project!!
thanks Scott
Back in that time. Pictures were black and white. So this maybe the first time. Seeing a item. Like this. In color. Great video. 👍

The contrast between the chrome and the paint is simply sublime, excellent work!!
Amazing restoration. Better than new.

Finally a restoration video with hands that look like they did the work.
Science + arts + perfectionism = functional beauty. Better than new. So satisfying to watch!
Nothing better to do. One of a million oil cans. Great work.
