5:28 The static comes from the microphones internal amplifier. DJI does not seem to have quality parts and transistors built in to their mic set, otherwise it would work, just like it does for the Lark Max. You could get a mic without an AMP though and boost it in post, they are cheaper as well and it SHOULD work with the DJI.
The Lark Max internal mics seem to have a weird gate effect in your example? Any idea why that might be? It seems to be what they call noise cancelling, but for some reason it damages the overall quality. Also the transients seem to be weirdly crushed in the other example, but with the 24 bit file you could easily fix that.
I am still trying to figure out which mics to get, the Lark Max transmission seems to be lacking a bit, but the DJI has lower bit-depth. And the Rode is too expensive and over-complicates things with a useless software you have to use. Which set would you pick if money was not an argument, but overall quality and convenience?

You’re obviously way more knowledgeable about audio than I am so I appreciate the comment! I am trying my best to figure these things out too. I am also trying to figure out what settings to do, because I notice the lark max can be pretty buzzy. I’m not sure whether to turn the gain up on the lark, and turn it down on the camera or the other way around.
Either way, I have been enjoying these a bit more than the DJI simply because of the build quality and lack of issues I was having with DJI. But I see a lot of big influencers using the DJI so maybe those issues have been fixed?

Great video. Did you had any problem with audio drift when recording over 10 minutes?

Nope! Didn’t have any issues with that

Still deciding between the hollyland lark max and the dji mic 1, i like the smaller size of the dji, and the adapter to mobile but the sound of the lark max is great, and the battery life is such a big plus

I actually returned it soon after as it stopped working within 2 weeks and wouldn't charge.. waste of money

Would it be good as a desk mic with the DJI action 3 as camera ? (Computer)
Would like to have just one setup for desk/work and travel.

@@BryceKoebel damn that’s just a rip off that means when dji first came out they must have went for $5 or 6 hundred dollars

I have both. Hollyland Lark Max sounds way better than my DJIs.

To my ears, DJI's audio quality sounds richer and warmer, making for a truly immersive listening experience.
