Good information about a subject that I'm interested in.
Just one little suggestion... landscape video is much more pleasing to watch than portrait video.
I am ai collision specialist I am also I CAR CERTIFIED and I think you did a really good job nice video
Thank you:)
@@BuddysDIY next time just leave the bugs inside the paint they will sand off easily I learned that the hard way
@@MightyistheRCGamer I'll try that!!
You're a lie. How are you a collision specialist when your channel is a gaming channel? Gtfoh
@@BuddysDIY don't listen to that faker! You did a better job than this joker can ever do. His channel is about gaming and gadgets smh.
More videos to come everyone! VERY soon!! Going to do rims for a super professional look!
Detailed with the process and video. In my budget range and the exact look I was going for. Thanks! Looking forward to future diy videos 👌🏻
Thanks for the support!
I have several areas of peeling paint on my van. Do you do the touchup paint the same way?
Thanks Buddy. I'm wondering why trim and vinyl paint and not a standard paint can?
@Buddy'sDIY - whatever happend to your follow up Video on wet sanding the clearcoat?
Great video and very informative! Would this same process be practical for a full paint job?
RIP the other cars there when you did the primer, that wind and overspray...
Do you recommend doing this with an orbital sandpaper and the same grit sandpaper?
Was paint on roof faded, pealing or changing color? I have a black car that is "hazy" after removing transfer of white paint. Shall I buff it, repaint it, add clearcoat or???
Something I learned from woodworking… you can use tac cloth to clean the surface nd prepare the surface for stain, or in this case, paint. The material is great for grabbing all the dust left after sanding.
It's a good video bro it's to the point and easy to understand thanks for the info.
Now that's what I call real world !awesome bro
Thanks brother. Much better videos out on the channel now!
leaf blower at night time !! KING
Is there an update video after sanding/buffing?
Came out better than I thought!
my thoughts exactly
Love the step by step, great detailed video! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Super dope video really was exactly what I needed
Appreciate it man!!
I love that canopy where can I get one
I never would have thought that would work so well, it looks really good!!!
After alot of practice I got it down to a science!
Oh yeah! Should have seen it coming. Pretty stoked you created a TH-cam, keep it up!
This is one of my worst videos lol. The production was super subpar. But I'm getting better!!
Super informative and to the point. Looking forward to seeing it finished.
Thanks Nick. Appreciate the support!
Wonderful video. I can't wait to see part 2!
Part two is in the description!
It needed two weeks to cure!
@@BuddysDIY I just saw part 2. Wow what beautiful work!
Can you do this job in 3 days?
Asking because I need to rent a garage to do it in so I need to budget the time.
TY
does it look like an actual paint job?
Amazing
Looks amazing and A GREAT way of avoiding the high cost and lengthy turn around time from larger companies
Absolutely!
Looks good!
It does!
Hi Whats a bmw you recommend that won't put a hole in your pocket? What type do you own?
E36/E46
Actually most important part is the prep when it comes to paint
I'm ready to paint a spoiler with 1k base coat and 1k clear coat...
But most of TH-cam DIY videos recommend 2k clear coat.
Will 1k clear coat last a few years or not?
The products costed me almost the same as a professional job,i just wanted to try that myself.
I don't care about a little orange peel as long as 1k clear coat can be reliable
I need a paint job on my car, with this step by step process I can do it myself for cheap! Thanks man. Keep it up!
Absolutely!
You make great content. Thank you
Cool Video!!
how reliable is ur bmw? am thinking of getting the same one. Is the maintenance expensive? am college student btw.
Get one with the n52 engine. 06-2012 328i or 325 320. Not the 335
@@BuddysDIY that was a fast response thanks you so much will look into it . oh and i live up north it snows a lot So gonna look at the 328xi again thanks bro
what grit would you recommend for my car? A LOT of the clear coat is faded already
You gotta take the clean coat all the way down and hit it with some sandable primer man. Probably 150 if the clear is peeling like crazy. Then a nice layer of primer sand that with 400-600 and then paint!
Great detailed video! Thanks!
Thank you!!
You deserve more credit bro. hmu if your planning on selling a flipped car anytime soon.
appreciate the love brother
Very informative and detailed. Thank you for posting.
Glad it was helpful!
Looks great man, very informative too. I'll be sure to hit you up when I need some work done on my car. Looking forward to your next video too man
Sounds good
I came across your channel because of the truck you flipped and love your videos! Only thing you did is you put your hand on the prepped surface while you were putting down the primer and the oils from your hand could mess up the paint going over.
Looks amazing!
Thanks Todd. Appreciate it!
Aren't you suppose to wet sand?
wow! looks amazing !
It does!
Seen the car in person and it looks GREAT.
💪💪
Windex is a great prepaint cleaner.
Really? Dosent it have ammonia in it?
Buddy gets a cut.*
Sprays bumper paint on it.*
Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!
A sawzaw with a long blade and a large circle clamp to hold your can of paint. Takes about 30 seconds.
*sawzall
What do you mean by this??
Wow thanks!
Welcome!
Excellent work ethic
Many many thanks
Nice Bmw 😍🥺
Thanks!!!
Great video , you painting my car next ? Kidding
Deal!
Make more videos !!!!!
I'm going to try it... first with someone else's car.lol
I think he wants to put the paint on thick guys😂
Immediately subscribed! I flinched when you started sanding your paint lol
Thank you!!
Trim and Bumper paint is matte finish. How is yours glossy? Also, I've used 3 cans of paint on my roof and it's still blotchy. I'm painting outside . Temp is about 70 degrees.
Looks good
It does!
Good stuff, thanks!
Thanks Tyler! Stay tuned for more quality videos!
breathing protection ! Ask me how I know !
But I need to paint a bus :-(
And... how do you work outside in Florida at night? If I step outside I get attacked by mosquitoes!
Haha man they don't like me for whatever reason. They love my gf but stay away from me hahaha
@@BuddysDIY Your lucky! This year in Florida has been horrible!
Rustoleum clear will be peeling away after a year
I c that u r using rust o liem (crap) paint.. good luck.. I used to but no more. the paint will not come out.. sprays a little, thats all.. might as well throw the can in the trash..primers,black,white and a brown colors..... I tried to contact them 2 times and never got a responce.. NEVER use rust o olemn AGAIN.. NOT SURE WHAT BRAND i WILL SUE. THERE PAINT SUCKS... good luck, hope it works well for you..
For YT you should flip the video as the flipped view gives ppl 1/4 of the screen. So pointless sadly...
🤙
💪
2:10 horribly inconsiderate to be doing all this at night, but thanks for the video.
NO..
Now all that?? Is what is known as "White Privilege".
Hard work, careful preparation, articulate, detailed, .......
Thank you! I take alot of pride in my work. Did you see part two!?
why do you have to bring racial privilege into this?? Its painting a car... anyone can buy paint and prepare a car. stop trying to turn this into a racial matter.
@@noahcrouch9905 I’m lmaooo 😂😂 idek how they think of “white privilege” when watching someone paint a car.
Love your channel, but man, so much of your paint job cutoff not be seen at all because of the distance away, it was bad! My suggestion is finding someone to film the whole process so we that are watching can see in detail how your technique is. That whole, I’m going to put you up deal didn’t get it.
Wrap the next one! Much easier. 🙂 BTW... if you want to see how to wrap instead of painting here’s a step by step video I made might help ya out... th-cam.com/video/mQu3FsFUWn4/w-d-xo.html
No mask 😷
uh - the hand sanitizer? It has aloe in it - a natural oil. And you used that to CLEAN your paint? hahahahahahahahaahhaahahhaahaha
Who else is here because they fucked up
you are wasting at least a full day of work on this car roof if not more. you waste a lot of money on materials too. wasn't it better to bring to a professional paint shop, pay them around 150$ and get it done professionally ?
Yeah this was my first ever video. The production is absolutely terrible. Trust me I know lol. And I got quotes and they wanted 250 for wrap because if the sunroof, shark fin antenna, and I have female threads that are concerned by flaps for roof racks. Also quoted 400 for paint by other shops. And honestly I have painted cars professionally at a shop before. I have a 1400 dollar inflatable paint booth that I use in other videos. Just thought it would be a quick fun videos to shoot. And that was the begining of my TH-cam channel lol. Believe me I know for a fact the fact the production quality bus the video is sub par
@@BuddysDIY well, you are in the car fixing/flipping bossiness, I can understand you putting so much time and effort into fixing them for some profit. I am an IT specialist so prefer working in my office managing an IT system, and converting my income to buy a car someone else worked hard to fix for me. everyone and his preferences in life. But nice to see what you do... thank you. keep up the good work.
@@AY-dw4om Im also a licensed insurance agent so I definitely enjoy making money in the a/c. The last 4 or so years I had an a/c job. But I've always enjoyed fixing stuff too. I appreciate it man. I'm sure you've seen the production quality improve over the months!
next time use a decent camera not a smartphone garbage, so we can really see what you do...
