Monochromatic variations [Midnight sessions in Le Passage] - (Roland Devocelle, Urbuli Baba)

Impervious to the wild, unfettered boisterousnous of Agen's nightlife (which has earned it its nickname of "Rio de Janeiro of Southern France"), Roland and I kept our nose to the grindstone well past midnight and recorded this little musical oddity at the end of a long session last week, to the delight of beslumbered neighbours --and tawny owls, looking in wide-eyed bewilderment at our feverish gesticulations through the windows.
(Much as many people would like to see Roland as the new Messiah of French Free Jazz, the bright golden halo around him is not a nimbus nor some similar manifestation of the Holy Spirit, but solely the result of the auto brightness adjustment settings on my phone...)

The first section definitely had a dreamy midnight feel. Your drums provided an excellent response to the bubbly texture in Roland's sax.

Baba and Roland have created a truly unique piece. The interplay between drums and soprano sax is extraordinary, and the incredibly free and experimental approach has left me speechless. It's a sonic journey that pushes the boundaries of music. Focusing on the atmosphere: "The atmosphere created by this track is dense and evocative. I love improvised music such as what Mr. Baba does. I also love opera, minimalism, Afro-Cuban music, progressive rock, Medieval music, funk, classical music...and DEATH METAL, grindcore, black metal, and speed metal. 😁
