      Until companies like Roland actually record real drum sound samples I don't think it will ever be right but since Roland bought DW hopefully in the near future they will be able to incorporate DW real drum sound recorded samples into their modules

    • @Acoustic2Electronic
      @Acoustic2Electronic 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@drummerboy100jh They sort of have with the the module. I have played it fairly extensively in local store when it was first released. Sounds like they are real drums,, but rather than a true VST like the Mimic Pro, Roland have got all of their hardcore processing and shaping on it. Therefore unfortunately it does still sounds quite 'Roland' to my ears (if you know what I mean). So it wouldn't be true to say that the samples aren't real drum samples, but there is some full-on Roland processing over the top which seems unnecessary to me and tends to spoil the sound somewhat.

      ah, but the weak spot of vst is load times. no way to change kits mid song or even midset. roland owns that. also in a live band situation, no general audiance member would recognize roland vs. vst.

      Having listened to many videos, including this one, with a high quality set of IEMs. It's a big departure from all previous Roland models. Definitely a noticeable improvement in the realism. Particularly with the Tom's and there's far less machine gunning on the snare sounds too. I still don't think it's perfect when compared alongside a VST. But it's darn close.

    The sounds seem to be getting worse. I like the features and hopefully linked up to SD3 I won't get any errors. I'm using a TD-30KV right now but maybe this upgrade could work. Please Roland just work with Toontracks SD3, and get their sounds already loaded into the model. I would get one immediately. If I have to use and e-kit that would be what I would do. It's so strange that I have a 15 year old Roland td-6 V tour module that has better snare sounds then some of the modern modules, and possibly tom sounds as well but of course the TD 50x with the new snare and hi-hat and cymbals are light years ahead.
      Tweaking the snares and toms for days, you still do not get anywhere close to what you could get from a VST like EZ Drummer. They sound like a toy compared to a real drum sample, even if it's not processed in the studio.
      It's so aggravating that you could drop 6,000 and still have a junkie sounding snare and toms straight out of the module. The greatest thing about the TD 50x Roland module is that it integrates so perfectly into Superior drummer 3 or EZ Drummer 3.

    If they can be loaded into the module can you manipulate the SW samples in the same way as the standard module kits. Ie. Shell depths, tuning, mic placement, skin types. Etc. It's the bear sounding Roland module but damn it's expensive..... I have superior drummer 3 with 9 sdx's so I just use vst's and I do not see myself spending this amount of money just to be able to run the sounds workout a laptop ... td 27 all the way bbay!

    Sounds really fake. If a drummer sent me tracks with that Id send it back. Maybe good to practice with but they are miles from recording a real kit in a room

    How on earth is Roland able to get great sounds from their DW soundworks library, insert into their module and turn it into shit 😂😂😂

    Because 9 bajillion dollars a kit wasnt enough they've decided to add cloud micro transactions on top of it 🙄 think I'll stick with my cheapo alesis surge and ezdrummer 3

    Hyperbole. Doesn’t sound as good as Addictive Drums 2 let alone Superior Drummer 3. Efnote modules still the best. Sounds no better than my td27.

      I agree, I have a TD27 as well so I would only really be upgrading for a color screen 😂. The snare seems cool, but I'm sure that will be at least $1k on its own, so all in I would probably be around the $4k mark to toggle the snare on and off which I can't think of any time I would need to do that other than messing around with it because I can.

      @@jamessullenriotI would likely only toggle the snares off and on in a jazz setting. Don't think I'll take an e-kit out for a jazz gig. 😬

      You’re comparing this thing to a computer which has endless processing power is not a fair comparison. In order to get Sd3 to play well, you need 24gigs of RAM, and a decent processor.

      @@christopherpederson1021 With a decent processor (in my case i7 10th gen) and 16 Gb RAM it runs fine.

    Sounds shit. The ride is shit. Cmon. Slate is best cymbs. Superior Drummer 3 is best Snares. Simple. There's a Roland vst that has no demo and looks OK also but yeah no demo, no go

    It is a lot better than the previous gen Roland modules but still a long way from VST's sadly.
