Great video Rob. Love them both. A great feature the Rangeman (this version) has that no other G-shock has (yet) is the “quick stopwatch” (one button press), no scrolling thru modes. U can set the 4oclock button to activate the stop watch (and immediately display) from any mode with just one button. Not even the newer Bluetooth Rangeman has this feature.
I have the same Rangeman. Although I'm not a fan of the size of some G-Shocks, I can't help but be fascinated with what they can do for the price. I usually only wear my Rangeman when overlanding, and for that purpose, it is awesome. When off grid somewhere, I use it for checking the barometric pressure to determine which direction the weather is trending. I'm always checking the altitude on it when in the mountains (it even tracks changes in your elevation as you travel). I often use the compass to get a quick bearing on the direction I'm looking when checking something in the distance. Sure all these things can be done with other devices but its awesome to have all that info on your wrist when you want it. Although, it doesn't get much wrist time other than when off-grid, I just can't get myself to sell it. Its very useful for this particular type of travel. BTW, never owned the "square" G....waiting on my first one to be delivered soon, the 5600BC - Bluetooth. Keep up the great videos.
One cool thing about the range man is how user friendly some of the things are. One press of the lower right button and your timing (no need for stumbling through to find the chrono, in fact I don’t even have to look) If you ever just want reg time again just press and hold lower left The triple feature will remember which feature you last used and on press will take you back to that feature first. Back to regular time your day date will disappear and be replaced with a small basic info for the last sensor info you wanted... don’t like that? No worry’s top left button and it’s gone and day date is back.
It's actually just the barometer graph that the day of the week window will switch between when you press the top right button. Still agree with everything else you said tho, the rangeman is a great entry level watch for the master of g series

Interesting Review. Curious if The Frogman has a Dive computer function or not. I know it will show depth but is unlikely to calculate bottom time with Air or Nitrox gas mixture. I wonder if it has a dive ascent alarm? Doubtful but curious. For most divers I think it’s more nostalgic than needed. Kind of like Dive watches. Better to have two Dive computers with the same dive Algorithm for redundancy than a watch that just gives you depth or a timer count down. The Triple Sensor Rangemaster I can see being more useful on terra firma. Especially hunters or outdoorsman on mountains and rough terrain or volatile weather patterns. Nice to know where you’re at while using a map and your altitude or when communicating location and direction. Corey, I went through 2 rangemans. I didn't lose them, and I never abused them or dropped them. I did use the functions on a daily basis. The build quality on the Rangeman is nowhere near the quality of the Frogman. If it was, you wouldn't be able to keep the Rangeman on the shelf!

Do anybody knows if the barometer which comes with the rangeman is also able to display depth underwater? I really cannot find anywhere on the web if anyone ever tried to do that neither explained if is it possible or not. Since the barometer is built in the triple sensor giving atmospheric pressure and then the altitude ASL (above sea level) I thought it can also be able to measure the increasing of pressure during a dive into the water. The only difference is the higher increasing rate of pressure in the water compared to the air because of the density of the two different fluids (air-water) but if Casio would have considered the two different coefficients under programming I guess the same barometer will be able to get that measurement. Sorry for the length of the comment but I really hope someone would answer my question, thanks men! Oh and also be merciful on my english skills 😅

this would be cool. to force receive cuz youd be able to fiddle with the timezones and barometric pressures and altitudes to see if that helps with getting a signal. my ggb100 doesnt have the multiband 6. which totally throws off any reason to need the triple sensor now that I think about it. lol! time to buy a new watch! hahahaha
Rangeman has resin case & will be brittle in time it is same material used in cheap disposable g-shocks.. Frogman & dw-5000c the first g-shock is in different level because the case is made of stainless steel.. it will outlast us & our children & our grand children.. that is why it is worth the price.. I never buy a regular resin cased g-shock except for the special edition, jdm or an og version..
I've wanted a G-Shock for years, but have never owned one. Every time I look into them the ones I like are super expensive, and I just can't justify spending that kind of money - I'm not a Navy Seal or James Bond. To be honest, I'm a little scared that I won't find it useful (as in finding a use for all its functions). I want a tough solar, GPS, satellite time-keeping, ABC watch. The closest I have found to that is the GPR-1000 Rangeman series, which is over a $1000 CAD. Yikes!
Honestly get the standard G-Shock 5600. It is soooo comfortable and the none solar one costs about $45 USD on Amazon. All these other G-Shocks are cool don't get me wrong and I love them but my goto watch day in and day out is my 5610, the solar and atomic standard G-Shock. I would recommend that but those seem to have gotten expensive lately for some reason ($120 USD).
The Gravitymaster literally ticks all of your boxes, and it's cheaper than the GPS Rangeman. The GPS is only used for timekeeping, not for other functions like a Garmin watch would do.
Module wise the rangeman hands down. Construction wise, frogman without any doubt. What bothers me a little are the fake screws on the rangeman. Looks cheap trying to pass as a real screws. The frogman don’t attempt this, they’re just decorations.
Random Rob you’re welcome 😉 I actually would like to see a Mudman/Rangeman comparison. Michael and I are friends as well and he strongly suggest the Frogman but a little pricey at the moment. I’ve actually tried on the Rangeman but am curious about the Mudman as how it compares to the Rangeman.
Nope not just you. While the lug screw to lug screw distance may be closer to the Rangeman, the band does not slope downward as quickly, it kind of juts out another couple of millimeters on each side making them wear much longer. I have both the Mudmaster and Gravitymaster, both fit and wear much better on my wrist.
@@williamstalvey6920 they are completely equal in durability to each other and to the 5610 square he showed. No G-Shock is more durable then any other G-Shock, they just have different features.

this would be cool. to force receive cuz youd be able to fiddle with the timezones and barometric pressures and altitudes to see if that helps with getting a signal. my ggb100 doesnt have the multiband 6. which totally throws off any reason to need the triple sensor now that I think about it. lol! time to buy a new watch! hahahaha
I have a hard time finding a frog lol 🐸
@@CoreyBrass squares are the best
The Gravitymaster literally ticks all of your boxes, and it's cheaper than the GPS Rangeman.
The GPS is only used for timekeeping, not for other functions like a Garmin watch would do.
I still don’t know what the frogman has that rangeman doesn’t. Woulda been nice if that was covered.
if someone handed me both of these i wouldnt know which arm to wear which on but after a week im sure id have a definitive answer.
Frogman! Not Mudman! Look at the title...
Classic Rob
Module wise the rangeman hands down. Construction wise, frogman without any doubt. What bothers me a little are the fake screws on the rangeman. Looks cheap trying to pass as a real screws. The frogman don’t attempt this, they’re just decorations.
Apakah benar rangeman menggunakan skrup kamuflase?
Your dislexia is at its optimal level today 😂😂😂
i have a gw9400 and a garmin instinct solar. can yall watch lovers suggest my next buy?
GA-B2100
neat and clear
Hey Rob your title of the video is Rangeman and Mudman but it’s the Frogman not the Mudman .
Haha thanks.
Stainless steel vs Plastic. Enough said.
RANGEMAN !
The frogman wore much larger on my wrist than the rangeman. Is it just me?
Nope not just you. While the lug screw to lug screw distance may be closer to the Rangeman, the band does not slope downward as quickly, it kind of juts out another couple of millimeters on each side making them wear much longer. I have both the Mudmaster and Gravitymaster, both fit and wear much better on my wrist.
I like range man.
🐸 Man is a bad boy but I’m a cheap bastard and can’t justify the price .
I have both, imo the Rangeman is the better watch.
What the model of the square gshock in the background.☺️
GW-M5610. It is the solar, atomic square G-Shock. I have all 3 of the G-Shocks he showed in this video and it is the one I wear most days. Love it.
Cool is in the eye of the beholder. Invicta comes to mind.
Just keep the watch in a proper place in your wrist and it wont dig in!
Bigger is not better in this case.
Um no way a stupid rangeman is as tough and is as good as frogman, no way son...
@@williamstalvey6920 Rangeman rules!
@@williamstalvey6920 they are completely equal in durability to each other and to the 5610 square he showed. No G-Shock is more durable then any other G-Shock, they just have different features.
@@CoreyBrass I would go with a Frog all day long....ana- digi not cool
@@williamstalvey6920 ok, but they are all equal in durability. Maybe the band can take more on the Rangeman and Frogman over the 5600 but when it comes to the important stuff like shock and water depth they are all equal.
Rangman hand's down.
Frogman is indestructible, whereas Rangeman is really brittle
GW-9400 has nice functions, but the Frogman has the superior build quality and design.
All it takes is a simple Google search to see how many issues the Rangeman has with its poorly designed lugs.
It's cheaper than the Frogman for a very good reason.
Your measurements are all wrong for rangeman
These watches are useless to most people over 50, hard to read.
They're not made for that age demographic.
