- In this video my Father and I review some of the parts that will be going into my C4 Corvette as well as starting to take off some components of the L98 motor. Let me know if you have any questions or comments down below. Don’t forget to like and subscribe for more content coming soon! #corvette #camupgrade #caminstall
Just getting ready to pull the motor on my ‘86 vette. I’m looking to swap the cam as well. I’m looking forward to watching your progress! Thanks for sharing this project with everyone!
Awesome love to hear it! Just waiting to get my aluminum heads back and then part 2 will be out👌
If you want to get the cam out, take the radiator out it only takes 30 min, I know you can do it that way, don't pull the motor
I’m doing headman headers and comp cam on my black 87 coupe can’t wait to see the results. Paid a shop to do it tho waiting on the call to pick it up
That’s awesome bro, that thing will be sweet👌
Looking to do something similar, can’t wait for video 2...
Video 2 is coming soon! We’re just waiting on the heads to get done, we sent them to a shop
Thank you for the video, it’s very helpful 🙏🏽
Im getting a cam in my 96 now 💪🏾🦍😎
nice video
This engine and other versions, like lt1, have a
a pretty short stroke compared to the bore. Normally such type of engines are suitable for high rpm, but the stock engine is instead tuned for high torque / low rpm. lengthening the stroke immediately makes more torque and power. However, I think the shorter stroke (stock) has more potential for high power, by using an aggressive cam, headers, proper intake, and solid lifters. IMSA engines run up to 9000rpm, I guess that’s how they do it idk. I don’t know if they have external balancing at the rear like on street cars.
On the other hand 5000 is a good limit for reliability which means lower running costs.
YES SIR
Definitely had to subscribe 💪🏽😎
Go with long tube headers. :)
Cars mint I wouldn’t touch it! Low miles?
Thank you, I bought it as just a project car to learn on so I’m not that worried about keeping it original. She’s got 50k miles on her
what cams should i get for my stock 87
The 501 comp cam is what I went with and it gave the car lots of torque and sounds pretty good in my opinion
You should put long tube
I plan on it after the Cam is installed, it will require some cutting and welding
Headers, especially long-tube headers, are a waste of time on the low-revving L98. Just stick with the stock manifolds, and avoid all the problems associated with header installation in these cars.
Part list??
That’s a catalytic converter, not a resonator...
Yes you are correct, I misspoke
You'll have to jack up the front of the motor.
Do a smog delete.
What camshaft you installed looking to install one on my stock 1985 vette
It’s a 501 comp cam
Put a procharger
That is the plan, I have one picked out already😂
Have your seen that one on eBay
Way to much talking and repeating yourself!
Agreed
