Thank you for the lovely footage.
It is amazing how fear can affect someone - to the point of freezing and not being able to move at all. But if you think about it, it's all in your mind. There is nothing to fear but fear itself.....and it is stopping people of living fulfilling lives.
Climbing, riding motorbikes, flying, skiing, sailing, diving .....if you focus on your next step - you'll not have time to think on anything else ( including fear). With time ( exposure )you'll start relaxing and fully enjoying the experience. All this activities will teach you to live in NOW... ( mindfulness ) - and you will feel free like never before in your life.
Thanks for posting and good luck in next adventure....

I do not even know how to express in words the VALUE of your brutal honesty and emotions depicted in this video . . . it should be MANDATORY VIEWING for all wanna-be backpackers . . . in my outdoor history, I have been confronted by grizzlies resulting in "iffy and stressful" situations, but I have never been sooooo stressed as viewing the raw emotions of this video . . . Christine, you and CAT are two exceptional human beings whose videos offer so much critical information for potential novice risk-takers . . . I truly believe your video will actually SAVE LIVES in the upcoming years for those who think, on a "whim", they want to take on the challenges of the Grand Canyon . . . beautiful, raw and brutally honest video!

great video. I related to the windy night. I was camping in a tent in the Anza Borrego desert and it was so windy I couldn't sleep from the noise and got into the car to get some zzzz's. I have always loved running on windy days but walking with a backpack in the midst of such winds in the wilderness does not sound appealing to me. I admire your determination. I also think you did a good job showing just how difficult and dangerous it can be out there on the 'trail'. you and your aunt radiate a goodness and energy that enhance the experience of the viewing of the incredible beauty of the nature around you. I think that is why I enjoy watching your/her videos so much. take care and thanks.

Glad you guys had so much fum and returned safe. Great hike of course. I personaly like New Hance to the Confluence and if time and permit exists then up the Little Colorado to Sipipu. Of course I hike too much without the expected permits. Often wonder what will happen when I get caught ? Oh well... continue to be safe and have fun at Grand Canyon. !

Nicely done. Nicely done! Tenacious ass kicker you are. Tanner has been on the list for some time but I came up scared when contemplating the Papago slide and some descent portions of Tanner. Had a good look in person over the slide last year during a trip into Hance and came up still chicken. Maybe one day...Sigh. Thanks for the honest input. Perhaps a travel down the Tanner Trail looks more doable sans Papago as an IN/OUT hike now for me. I'd say your boots are well seasoned after an experience like that. The Canyon is always willing to humble a person (easy or hard trip itin). Brave souls for enduring Mr Wind. Your trip looks well researched, executed and in good company.. Props!

Your video is fantastic, and very enjoyable.
Curious, what camera did you use....was it a gopro ?
And the water filter you used, did you let the silt settled down in a portable fabric bucket before you use your filter to prevent damage to your filter?
I saw in other videos that if you try to filter that brown silt laden colorado water, it immediately damages the water filter .
