Seeing the stats I feel really sad for India, like despite of having a population of 1.38 Billion and advancements in so many sectors, we export lesser than Hong Kong and Singapore.

It is interesting to imagine that if the world is split into infinitely small pieces or united as one, the total exports will be infinite or zero.
And guess what, the more open your economy the more performing your country is due to the fact that you can actually cut down on prices of consumer goods... Why waste precious resources producing something another country is 1 000 better and cheaper at... Ask yourself why China is world's factory... It's not like for example Germany can't product those goods, they just want to focus on more high tech sectors. China wants as much FDI as they can get.

They also located on the way of trade between western world and eastern world. So it's easy for them to have high exports. Still they're quite impressive.

It's probably currency exchange rate. The video bases everything on US dollars. There are unexplained drops in export volume in other Asian countries like China also. Basically, if you are an exporter from China or Japan, you care about what you are paid in Yuan/Yen because that's what you spend in your home country. So when the value of the USD goes up relative to your own currency, you are willing to accept less USD because you care about the final Yuan/Yen value.
