You could make the pump quieter by adding a layer of foam/rubber between the pump mountings and your piece of wood and another layer between the wood and the framing you have attached it to. Inside water fillers are a great idea - particularly for stealth vans - you can have them on the back of kitchen cabinets by the slider too - just need the right funnel to use your method of filling up without the effort. That tank looks good, might fit flat under a kitchen unit nicely - then you could have the gauge visible too - Humble Road did a similar gauge - very simple but effective.
Hay Linz always a pleasure to hear from you you’re always so positive thank you I will definitely have a go at making it quiet soon hope you’re doing well and staying safe 👍
Nice Job! I cut the hole for the fittings on my 15 gallon tank. To mount mine, I am taking a 12' long web strap and I have a spot on the wall i can wrap it around and a mounting plate on the floor, I wood block front and back to hold it in place. Nothing like running water and a shower! Next spring I will add the water heater. Happy Travels

Water pump has the same solution as the diesel heater fuel pump, don't solid mount it. Either suspend it or mount it on springs or rubber to cut out the vibrations. How have you anchored the tank to stop it moving sideways in the van? Apart from that, nice one Mel. 👍😊

Will the weight of the water crack the tank with the vibration of driving, I thought plastic tanks in a house have to be supported on a flat surface to spread the load and not stress the plastic. ... could you put a board across the batons, the board could be changed if you have an issue.
Hi lee I if the pump packs up I’ll simply change it as it’s above the water line I wound need to drain the tank it’s only 60lt so I could even lift it out if needed 👍😊👍
You could use the pump to fill a small 5 litre tank in a cupboard higher than your water tap. That would need a return pipe to the main tank. Fill the five litre tank once a day as you need to. @@leatherkid02 Hi. I think it is called PTFE tape. Amazing video mel :) I was thinking of a foot boat pump 😂 but maybe I’ll upgrade later to one of these. Was it easy to plum up? Always make me laugh your outtakes :)
Mel’s Van World your right but there is a minimum flow rate to trigger the burner, i bought the grey 12v water pump you recommend about 18 months ago for £6 off eBay and when the water has to travel over 6ft height there’s not enough pressure to trigger the burner. But yours will only have to travel about 4ft . Great videos mate been following you since 200subs 👍
It was working really well but no good if I want a hot water heater for a shower unfortunately and because of lockdown it’s made me realise I need to be independent 👍
@@BigVanSmallWorld I agree and we are all going to be locked down again this winter. Make sure you are always topped up with everything to bug out at a moments notice. These lockdowns can happen so fast even the police don't know its happened to give you time to escape.
Another great video Mel. You could always wrap the tank in an insulation blanket like on the old copper boilers in houses. If the pump noise bothers you I know its not nice, you could keep the fire extinguisher for the sink and the big tank for just the shower.
6L is the amount of water per minute rating of the heater to raise ice cold winter water to 40C for a hot shower. Roughly double it to change into kW = 12kW. The trigger flow to turn them on is done by a magnetic float valve that triggers a hall sensor. They operate down to as little as 1L per minute. The larger units are 12L and 16L (24kW/ 32 kW) are very large heaters with a proper flu connection. I fitted my portable 6L propane gas heater on the side of my shower cupboard. They are brilliant gas heaters i had mine for years long before the van for camping. Its even been used as a 12v pumped recirc paddling pool heater for the kids. One thing I changed is the battery holder for ignition takes two D batteries and they don't last very long so i changed mine to a single 3.6v 18650 battery holder cos i got loads of them. Together with the chinese diesel heaters these two items for about 100 quid each are game changers. Heated vans with hot showers!

Amazing video mel :) I was thinking of a foot boat pump 😂 but maybe I’ll upgrade later to one of these. Was it easy to plum up? Always make me laugh your outtakes :)
Thank you and yes really simple I used the pump because I want to fit a shower heater on my back doors for outside hot shower 👍😊👍
Mel’s Van World might upgrade later :) I’ve seen those water heater look good :)?
I’ll be sure to do a full and honest review when it comes 👍
The outdoor gas instant water heaters may need 6L a minute to activate the burner I think. But you maybe lucky.
I thought it was the maximum they could cope with not the minimum time will tell 👍😊👍
@@simonnewton5572 there is a minimum not sure what it is but it isn't much.
I guess the fire extinguisher water tank didn't last long then ;) ??
It was working really well but no good if I want a hot water heater for a shower unfortunately and because of lockdown it’s made me realise I need to be independent 👍
@@BigVanSmallWorld I agree and we are all going to be locked down again this winter. Make sure you are always topped up with everything to bug out at a moments notice. These lockdowns can happen so fast even the police don't know its happened to give you time to escape.
That’s exactly my way of thinking I need to be prepared 👍😊👍
Another great video Mel. You could always wrap the tank in an insulation blanket like on the old copper boilers in houses. If the pump noise bothers you I know its not nice, you could keep the fire extinguisher for the sink and the big tank for just the shower.
I was thinking about that 👍😊👍
yay
Fray Bentos pies x 5 :)
Well spotted 👍😂👍
Hi bud. Mel, the links to tank and pump no longer work!
thank you buddy
💙
Put your pump in a box and sound proof it it will lot better for u m8
Thank you 👍
6L is the amount of water per minute rating of the heater to raise ice cold winter water to 40C for a hot shower.
Thank you and yes super cheap but invaluable
❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙
Cheers 🍻
@14 minutes...you could fill your water tank frombthe garden tap next to it 😂
@18 oh you did 😂😂
And that’s why it pays to watch videos all the through before you leave a comment 👍🍻👍
@BigVanSmallWorld yeah not got that much time spare to watch somebody ramble on! Just had to skip through it, while eating a sarny, to see if it was useful for me.... it wasn't 😂
I thought you where fitting an outside shower.....
Living the dream building the dream. I will but I needed water tank 1st I’m still waiting for the water heater to get delivered 👍😊👍
I love your channel Mel, but I'm purging all my subs that have so much advertising. They drive me crazy. The reason I started watching TH-cam is because it was independent people sharing their knowledge and interests. Slowly but surely it's turning into another commercial enterprise.
You could become a member of my channel for less than £3.00 a month and see all my videos early and ad free plus your be helping me out and rewarding me for all the hard work that goes into making videos for you this video took me from 9am to 11.30 pm to produce do you not think I deserve a little revenue for that hence the advertising without it TH-cam wouldn’t exist well maybe it would but all you would get is cute cats thanks for watching my videos I do hope you continue to do so I do really appreciate your feedback and support 👍😊👍
i see you have been panic buying fray bentos pies
No that’s just my normal lol 😂
EXACTLY why i will never have a pump in my van, that noise is the worst.
