In the comics, Cyclops and Storm both became team leaders, working with each other and at odds with each other when Cyclops sided with Magneto while Storm sided with Xavier. They've been planting seeds for Cyclops to get increasingly fed up with humans all season and with Xavier's return--and his more peaceful outlook having--i can see Scott going over the edge ... with Magneto.

Magneto did declare war, in a way. When he EMP'd the world to turn off the sentinels and save mutants, ALL electronics were shut down. How many planes just fell out of the sky? How many ships just crashed? Even Nuclear reactors were effected so if even one wasn't prepared for this then another Chernobyl might have happened. I wouldn't be surprised if next episode they start talking about Magneto's death toll. He did it to save his fellow Mutants, but the cost of it was high. IMO: Magneto was right!
Team Magneto all the way. He was a great leader to the X-Men honoring Charles wish so most of them if not all of them should side with him especially Rogue and Cyclops.
This is why Bastian told him "You were made for this". He's been planning for this. Make Magneto go nuclear so he can tell the world mutants are an existential threat.
After watching this episode, Bastion has quickly become one of my favourite X-Men villains. Bastion is such a great villain so far in this show, and his plan is genius yet horrific to think about. His being a mix of Nimrod & Master Mold is wild. I love how charismatic he is with his belief that mutants supposedly take away humans' chances of the future like a twisted entrepreneur, and what's even worse is that there is a level of truth and meta-commentary from his philosophy and how he manipulates blue-collar class racism and bigotry normal humans create based on their fears. Not to mention the fact that such a big part of the population are secretly Human Sentinel sleeper agents and didn't even know it is SCARY ASF! These things can also reproduce and extend the human population, making the implications even more terrifying. That Wolverine and Nightcrawler fight scene is some of the best Western animation I have ever seen in a comic book show like GODDAMN, THE SCENE WAS PEAK! Loved seeing the first-person perspective of what its like to teleport with Nightcrawler. It was really surreal watching Dr Cooper accept that Magneto was right about humans since Gyrich was teasing this fate in the first episode when he said, *"Tolerance is extinction"* , basically meaning whenever humans start tolerating mutants, humans will believe they'll inevitably go extinct, therefore whenever mutants start tolerating humans, mutants need to go extinct, hence what happened in Genosha. Magneto also declared straight-up war with humanity after sending that EMP that no doubt caused hundreds of other deaths, like planes falling out of the sky, reactors losing power, and God knows what else was such an overpowered move! BTW, THE CAMEOS IN THIS EPISODE ARE INSANE; WE GOT SPIDERMAN, OMEGA RED, DOCTOR DOOM, BARON ZEMO, SILVER SAMURAI, etc...
It is so insane that he isn't just anti mutant and trying to kill them all, but actively trying to create his own version of what people fear in mutants, a creepy alien "next step" in humanity.

Yes, Magneto did save all the mutants, but with a worldwide EMP he killed hundreds of thousands, most likely millions of people in the process. Every hospital shut down, planes and helicopters crashing from the sky, people with pacemakers, cars crashing, elevators stopping, ships and submarines losing navigation and other important electronics, ... Not to mention the fallout *after* an event like this. The chaos, violence and crimes ...

So many easter eggs and i love it! Beast mentioning Kamar Taj, spider man, baron zemo, dr. Doom, silver samurai, omega red cameos! The duo battle of nightcrawler and wolverine was a sight to see! The fist bump of cable and cyclops!
@@mrksimka1159 ironically, despite lacking his fighting skills and costume from the comics, zemo is still one of the best villains in the MCU. He was one of the only good parts of Falcon and the winter soldier and at least he wasn't a boring 1-shot like every other mcu villain not named loki or thanos.

When rock said for cable not to touch bastions momma i thought he was being too cautious cause cable already has the techno organic virus , and he does actually have powers but he has to use the totality of his psychic power to keep the virus at bay (comics i think he does have limited telekenis for battle and not just survival), so if bastion who has future knowledge and the techno virus could probably overwhelm cables defenses and spread it fully or posess half his body

At this point I'm surprised that anyone even believes in Charles' ideology anymore because it has been shown time and time again that Magneto is right. I would definitely be on Magneto's side if I was a mutant or a human that wanted humans and mutants to coexist. I get Roberto kind of getting captured willingly since he was already caught by them, but Jubilee wasn't. Also if I was Roberto as soon as she said I should keep me being a mutant private she would've been dead to me and I would've went to stay with the X-Men.
At the end its all playing into Bastions hands. He provoked the mutants with the attack Genosha. Remember how the media was less concerned about the tragedy and more concerned about potential retaliation from mutans to humans? Bastion started off by manipulating the media’s perception on mutants and spread fear to civilians similar to starting a cold war of sorts. Remember about 2 ep back the xmen had an interview and Scot went and said things that could be used to against him and the xmen and paint then in a negative light? Well this is all Bastions goal. He intends to unite humans and have them fight against a common enemy mutants, by creating further division. The reason he not worried about single bit after Magneto was freed is because he is playing into Bastions ideal future. Also remember Cable comes from the future of this time line where Bastion won at the end. He is there to change the past and avoid that future from happening.
Its probably like a thing of. "Shit I don't have the x-gene. I'm out of the running. I'm being left behind by evolution. Shit sucks." And the prime Sentinel thing is like "Oh shit! I'm in the running now! I'm not being left behind by evolution, I'm part of it! Hell yeah!" Is why the prime Sentinel thing would be considered "better" by bastion.
You know what's fucked up about the Marvel Universe? Off the top of my head, the only timelines I know where Humans and Mutants manage to live together peacefully with no conflict, is when Dr. Doom ruled the entirety of Earth under an iron fist, creating an utopia. The other alternate timeline is when Miguel O'Hara (Spider-Man 2099) wields Mjolnir and pretty much becomes the leader of Earth for 1000 years, making sure no conflict arise by using the power of Thor's Hammer as a deterrent. The fact that both timelines need an overwhelming iron fist to make sure Humans and Mutants play nice is sad, but kinda realistic...

When I watched this yesterday I was kinda disappointed about how weak the prime sentinels are. Hundreds of them could not kill a single X-man. It took me a while to realize that this is by design. Bastion is smart: he knows he needs to get humans on his side and he doesn't want to make the X-men martyrs. He's gonna spin this and say that the X-men murdered innocent protestors and that zero tolerance is the only way to protect humanity. This whole plan is to escalate tensions between mutants and humans, that's why Trask nearly kills the whole team and now hundreds of them get slaughtered. We're getting Avengers vs. X-men. I thought it might be Onslaught and it still might be, but they're setting up a mutants vs. humans war.

Elevators would be fine. They go through power outages all the time and the failsafes are 100% mechanical. That other stuff you mentioned, though... 😬

I love how charismatic he is with his belief that mutants supposedly take away humans' chances of the future like a twisted entrepreneur, and what's even worse is that there is a level of truth and meta-commentary from his philosophy and how he manipulates blue-collar class racism and bigotry normal humans create based on their fears. Not to mention the fact that such a big part of the population are secretly Human Sentinel sleeper agents and didn't even know it is SCARY ASF! These things can also reproduce and extend the human population, making the implications even more terrifying.
That Wolverine and Nightcrawler fight scene is some of the best Western animation I have ever seen in a comic book show like GODDAMN, THE SCENE WAS PEAK! Loved seeing the first-person perspective of what its like to teleport with Nightcrawler.
It was really surreal watching Dr Cooper accept that Magneto was right about humans since Gyrich was teasing this fate in the first episode when he said, *"Tolerance is extinction"* , basically meaning whenever humans start tolerating mutants, humans will believe they'll inevitably go extinct, therefore whenever mutants start tolerating humans, mutants need to go extinct, hence what happened in Genosha. Magneto also declared straight-up war with humanity after sending that EMP that no doubt caused hundreds of other deaths, like planes falling out of the sky, reactors losing power, and God knows what else was such an overpowered move!
BTW, THE CAMEOS IN THIS EPISODE ARE INSANE; WE GOT SPIDERMAN, OMEGA RED, DOCTOR DOOM, BARON ZEMO, SILVER SAMURAI, etc...
It is so insane that he isn't just anti mutant and trying to kill them all, but actively trying to create his own version of what people fear in mutants, a creepy alien "next step" in humanity.

At this point I'm surprised that anyone even believes in Charles' ideology anymore because it has been shown time and time again that Magneto is right. I would definitely be on Magneto's side if I was a mutant or a human that wanted humans and mutants to coexist. I get Roberto kind of getting captured willingly since he was already caught by them, but Jubilee wasn't. Also if I was Roberto as soon as she said I should keep me being a mutant private she would've been dead to me and I would've went to stay with the X-Men.
At the end its all playing into Bastions hands. He provoked the mutants with the attack Genosha. Remember how the media was less concerned about the tragedy and more concerned about potential retaliation from mutans to humans? Bastion started off by manipulating the media’s perception on mutants and spread fear to civilians similar to starting a cold war of sorts. Remember about 2 ep back the xmen had an interview and Scot went and said things that could be used to against him and the xmen and paint then in a negative light? Well this is all Bastions goal. He intends to unite humans and have them fight against a common enemy mutants, by creating further division. The reason he not worried about single bit after Magneto was freed is because he is playing into Bastions ideal future. Also remember Cable comes from the future of this time line where Bastion won at the end. He is there to change the past and avoid that future from happening.
Its probably like a thing of. "Shit I don't have the x-gene. I'm out of the running. I'm being left behind by evolution. Shit sucks."
And the prime Sentinel thing is like "Oh shit! I'm in the running now! I'm not being left behind by evolution, I'm part of it! Hell yeah!" Is why the prime Sentinel thing would be considered "better" by bastion.

You know what's fucked up about the Marvel Universe? Off the top of my head, the only timelines I know where Humans and Mutants manage to live together peacefully with no conflict, is when Dr. Doom ruled the entirety of Earth under an iron fist, creating an utopia. The other alternate timeline is when Miguel O'Hara (Spider-Man 2099) wields Mjolnir and pretty much becomes the leader of Earth for 1000 years, making sure no conflict arise by using the power of Thor's Hammer as a deterrent. The fact that both timelines need an overwhelming iron fist to make sure Humans and Mutants play nice is sad, but kinda realistic...

When I watched this yesterday I was kinda disappointed about how weak the prime sentinels are. Hundreds of them could not kill a single X-man. It took me a while to realize that this is by design. Bastion is smart: he knows he needs to get humans on his side and he doesn't want to make the X-men martyrs. He's gonna spin this and say that the X-men murdered innocent protestors and that zero tolerance is the only way to protect humanity. This whole plan is to escalate tensions between mutants and humans, that's why Trask nearly kills the whole team and now hundreds of them get slaughtered. We're getting Avengers vs. X-men. I thought it might be Onslaught and it still might be, but they're setting up a mutants vs. humans war.
