    NOTE: In this video I reset to camera defaults, it is using the same external mic, yes default to camera with Sennheiser MKH50 best mic ever used becomes BAD. External built in microphone audio is shown when in the webcam footage BUT it doesn't crackle like you see set as a webcam. The built in audio certainly isn't good. I removed the really bad sounding internal mic audio completely by mistake.
    To see what is included, such charging blocks, straps, cables etc check out my unboxing:

      Thank you... I found sometimes that Dynamic range 400 can sometimes be useful when recording yourself or others in bright outside light for maintaining good exposure. If you look at my newest video for the AI tracking gimbal, when outside I am recording with DR400. Also found that the XF 33mm 1.4 WR lens has much better contrast when at 1.8 compared to fully open at 1.4 aperture.

    Hello,
    nice video! Thanks for it. Does subject detection works in slow motion videos? Like 100/120 and 200/240 fps? Or just autofocus without subject detection? Or just manual focus? :)

    • @sparketech
      @sparketech  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Subject detection worked on all high speeds that I tested. The only issue would be that any auto focus weaknesses at say 240fps is amplified by 8x or better said 8 times slower FPS is slow motion autofocus. Thank you for the question. This was literally my first time testing this mode right now. With my Sony I just turned the dial. My Sony camera I was using loses subject detection at HFR mode.

      @@maxiguppy and thank you for asking. My Sony ZV1 loses focus and has a very limited time frame for recording. Think I will use this high speed feature at some point in time... It's questions like yours that help me learn other features. Can't wait till I get my new XLR adapter to improve the mic in camera audio and remove the need for an audio interface.

      @@maxiguppy Nice, hope to see more of that slow motion footage focused content. You're last few uploads appear to be a lot of speaking, I don't know your language but there will be a lot of people interested in seeing slow motion nature content. In terms of equipment I am making payments and taking on a lot of debt, I'll have to keep working long hours to pay it off. The new camera has helped video quality a lot, I found settings out of camera that look good without having to color grading. Wanted the best microphone so I no longer have to be bothered with audio that is sometimes has too much hiss or too much background noise. Right now if I record direct to camera the audio resolution drops and hiss is introduced and have to remove the hiss in post edit or record the audio to PC or recorder and replace in edit.

    Still watching now but wanted to mention it's refreshing to hear a review where someone understands the video codecs and what all intra means, etc unlike all the other reviews I heard :) - I guess Sony especially make it confusing with their own non industry standard terminology.

    Don’t you think if you’re planning on using the film sims straight out of camera for TH-cam you can use 8 bit color and 100 bit rate and it looks fine? I haven’t tested all the settings. I could see wanting to use higher quality ones for wildlife video in the future. I’m in the market for a computer late in the year or next year since I can’t use open gate on my iPad Pro 2020.

      Yep 8 bit and 100Mbs rate is 100% fine for TH-cam, MP4 is the better format. Higher but rates and 10bit of for people that color grade and play with contrast. I am using 420 at 10bit colour at H265.

      I had no issues with my sd sandisk extreme pro rated at 300MBsbbut I suggest all GOP 200mbs and not exceeding 300Mbs cause memory cards except for the best of the best are going to have issues with all intra speeds of 360Mbs. V60 sounds a little slow, you should probably be using a V90.

      The camera changed it's own settings to 1080P 59.94 fps. So either the camera settings weren't showing correctly or it was indeed automatic changed itself to the 1080 60 fps. I tried 4k 25fps and the stupid camera auto changes itself to 30fps. Maybe I'll record later a video showing this stupidity using my Sony ZV1. This is mostly garbage as a webcam from my experience so far. And to be most exact it showed the red hot overheat icon after only about 14 minutes. Should have been 4k 60fps to get that hot.

    Even older sony bodies create those files (A7III and A6300 for example), so they are not for catalyst. Also as far as I know the gyro data is actually inbeded in the metadata in the video file.

    • @sparketech
      @sparketech  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can't even find a straight answer for these files. The most probable answer I found is this:
      "The sole purpose of the XML file is to avoid the complexity in transferring the data files like libraries, media, projects from the Final cut pro X app to another application. It minimizes the difficulties in handling the export procedure of the edited media files."
      Most modern programs probably have no real need for these XML files and I have never ever used them for anything. If we don't need the files why force create them? Sony at least have the option to disable them.
      Historically these XML files are old pieces of info to speed play back and help read video file format information... Maybe old computers and old software have a use for these but modern programs and systems have no real use as far as I can see.

    • @sparkestudio
      @sparkestudio 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Csgo-beast the Sony A6700 is more user friendly and Sony has the best auto focus in the industry. Their high end lenses are pricey especially if you want F1.2 or F1.4 for good background blur. I believe the X-S20 is going to beg better over time but you have more work arounds to deal with. Webcam and up close focusing are the biggest issues. If recording outside and at a distance from the camera the X-S20 has better battery life and better colors without having to lock down the lighting color.
      Also you need to use digital stabilization with the body of the Fuji otherwise there is an odd jitter with fast movements. Use both to get a rather good stabilized look.
      Use case is everything, I prefer not having work arounds so if I had to do it all again I might have gone Sony. Cause I like a proper webcam experience especially when using OBS which I can't do without an audio interface and a 50 millisecond delay that I state on my newer review video... In case you haven't seen it yet.
      I cannot think of any other camera choice in this price range unless you were going more expensive.

    Really great review, one of the best coverages, well done! - few small comments:
    - Fuji does look way better than the Sony, why is Sony so hyper sharp? - maybe reducing sharpness in settings will help? - but 8-bit shows its limitations too.
    - Fuji also creates garbage files but in a different directory called "activity" - at least the Sony ones could be useful in catalyst browse, no such option for Fuji :)
    - For autofocus, it also worked great for me in good light with 1 subject, but in low light, or multiple subjects, forget it.
    - When you show it focusing on itself as a camera, that's the autofocus failing. It thinks that's a person, it also sees people in brick walls, trees, etc - any non controlled environment the focus is sometimes hit and miss. It is pretty good in the studio now though, unlike previous bodies.
    - VLOG mode’s annoying limitations is it constantly tries to go to 1/25s shutter, which mostly you would never want, I wish you could limit it to 1/50s minimum so it raises ISO instead.
    - The DR400 looks unnatural, but it allows you to keep the shadow and highlight detail to adjust contrast in post (a form of HDR). With DR100/200 the information is lost forever (it’s like an easier version of FLOG1 without needing LUTs).
    - Would be good to mention low dynamic range on the X-S20 compared to X-T5/X-H2/X-H2S of 12.1 vs 13.6, it’s a big difference showing the sensor’s age. Not an issue in a studio setting, but for travel, it’s a big downgrade, that's worse than micro 4/3.
    - 50mbit is PLENTY for h265 if there’s no panning/big motion, as you show in your review :)
    - For vertical, I would mention it’s so much easier to crop than Sony’s 4k. You don’t have to change the orientation of the camera to film both horizontal/vertical simultaneously.

Sony only annoyed me because the files are in the same directory as my main video files. I know those files are actually useful as I mentioned in the video. This video was an insane amount of work, probably spent a good 36 hours removing and adding stuff. It ended up about 19 minutes longer than I wanted it to be... Was more of an information of expectations.

      There would be no need for me to mention low dynamic range compared to the other models of Fuji camera because I have not tested the other ones and cannot show or compare them. This is my first Fujifilm camera since I owned the X-S1 back in the day. It was a nice bridge camera with sharp image detail but also very dull colors and lifeless. I didn't like how I wasn't able to see my shutter speed in vlog mode, how did you manage to know? I was trying to figure out what shutter speed is causing my LEDs in my background to flicker.

    I'm hesitant between the two cameras: Fuji XS20 and Sony a6700. Can somebody comment on their dynamic range difference and low light performance? I plan use it for landscape and concert photo and videography. From what is on paper, Sony uses BSI sensor while Fuji has CMOS. Theoretically Sony should be on top but I hear many support Fuji. I'm lost.

      I found one specific advantage of the Fuji. It is great at getting accurate color tones without locking things down. I needed to set the color tones on my Sony to avoid color shifting with my Sony... at Least in video. Basically when I do videos in my studio Sony was color shifting with my background RGB lights. Fuji is actually better to let it do it's own thing. I almost find it easier just to use film simulation mode with my pro lens and be done with it.
      Sony is better at handling crowds of people, so wedding footage on auto focus is a win for the Sony. Sony can stay locked on to a subject, X-S20 gets lost. This information comes from a viewer that was speaking to me that was a long time Fujifilm camera user that went from the X-S20 to the ZV-E1 which is nearly identical to the A6700 but is full frame compared to APS-C.
      Quick movements with the Fujifilm X-S20 can result in some bad looking jitter in footage. I am going to re-review on my studio channel next week after I talk to Fujifilm on a Teams chat call about the bad webcam experience and about their auto focus for up close review content and see if I can find out some new updates coming while I am at it. I have not tested photography but Fujifilm cameras are highly sought after for that purpose.
      I'll need Fuji users to add to this, because I don't have a personal hands on experience with the A6700. As for dynamic range I'd be "guessing" Sony beats Fuji for dynamic range at low ISO since the fuji certainly does not impress me at DR100 as I test and DR200 required 320 ISO min and DR400 ISO 640 and Log2 that has the most dynamic range is locked to ISO 1280 if I remember correctly. Video auto focus has been Sony's crown in the camera world for quite some time, fujifilm appears to be catching up slowly but certainly it is no Sony for video auto focus.

      @@sparketech Great thanks for fast and extensive response! I plan to shoot nature and concerts. Dynamic range and color rendition is significant for me. I was concerned by the fact that Fuji still uses 4th generation xtrans sensor as in XT30 while Sony put BSI to their Sony a6700. There are no direct comparisons of these 2 cameras and if you do one I hope you will collect decent amount of views.

      @@harry54ck problem is money. I have 2 TH-cam channels and I rarely get freebies. I would love to afford both but if I maxed out my visa and my line of credit I still couldn't get the A6700 with anything better than a kit lens... And I am still making payments every two weeks on the lens I am using for my camera and for the on camera audio interface from tascam. Spent $60,000 USD out of pocket since 2019 and that is despite every penny I ever made from this TH-cam thing. I go back to electrical training in January and have to pay for my training out of pocket. Just can't spend anymore and yes I have more accessories coming for the Fuji camera. I got connected by a full time creator wanting my help after he realized how good I can edit. I made several movies self edited, scripted and recorded myself. This is only one channel, all that stuff I reviewed microphones, tripods, lights, and more is nearly all self paid and I never ever accept money to do Reviews of products. This is called not bios, which in English is a play on words meaning not bias. Thank you for your support... If I get bigger more subs, people joining and supporting me I intend to invest nearly 100% but this out of pocket has got me in owing a lot of little to show

      @@sparketech Oh no! I have never meant to be one of those just demanding and I didn't mean making you buy the camera. Try connecting with your audience and making videos together or lend a camera. This is what I see my local camera reviewers do. Also, you may connect with some local camera store. You may make an ad for that store but this has nothing to do with specific camera brand promotion. You are still unbiased but with lot of support and connections. Here is just the example of how the Canon guy living next street from me makes a comparison video review together with one of his subscribers that owns Panasonic S5 and G9. It is in russian but you may just enjoy the style and atmosphere. The video is called: Panasonic S5, Panasonic G9, Canon R5 - обсуждение и тесты с Русланом. You can not buy all the gear but you can connect with people!

      @@harry54ck problem is where I live. There are zero camera stores. I live in a small town that is 7 and a half hours from any camera store. There is nothing I can do here sadly, I am on my own unless I move to a major city... Life has become too expensive to do that. If someone finds me here that gets that camera that would be cool. I am not as lucky as Gerald Undone that and Casey with camera conspiracies that lives in the big city and get free stuff to try. In fact, because I live 90% of offers I get becomes, oh we don't send there. Where I live a small ITX computer tower costs $150 to send. Major city $60 for the same thing. I need to move away if life hands the right cards to do so.
