I’m a cis woman who had to have a complete hysterectomy for medical reasons. It’s scary, and the surgery takes about 5-6 weeks to heal from. But it did not in any way change who I am, my personality, my femininity, my “sense of self” survived intact. I was devastated about not being able to have another child, but we did adopt a young child eventually. My heart goes out to you, you seem caught between two worlds right now. I’m praying for peace 💗

I went through the same situation (cis, had a hysterectomy in my early 20s) For a while, it was a bit difficult to relate to other women. I felt as though it took about a year to be completely back to normal.
Eventually, Tai Chi was a great form of exercise.

I wish 5 to 6 weeks. I had a infection after the 8 week. Had to have a second surgery and 9 weeks later I still healing. I still can't exercise, have sex or dance. I tire easily and need a nap or go to bed early.

@isher-ilynut804 Where do you get off calling yourself a 'cis' woman?🤔 If you can't respect our age old descriptor of 'woman' don't use any descriptor. 'Woman' works extremely well and does what it's supposed to do without any prefix.
Our label is NOT dictated by or dependent on any other group that have absolutely nothing to do with & no say in our title as 'women'. I'm absolutely sick of people trying to re-label, redefine & alter language to make them feel 'inclusive'. I'll happily opt out and be the one to be 'excluded' and embrace it!

Sam, it’s a tough thing to go through, and I could never know what you are going through. I will say that I was jealous at the way your body looked at camp, thin and toned. So you must be doing something right. Also wanted to tell you that this vid is super inspirational. I showed it to one of my friends who is surgically transitioning and he’s having the same issues. He thought that this video can help him push forward because he now knows that he’s not the only person feeling that way. You are true inspiration and keep up the good work XD

Intermittant bleedings are a very common thing to happen after several years on T. I personally choose to maybe once a year vein off of T and get one regular period to give my ovaries and uterus a break from the stress of being on T.
In the meantime supplying enzymes and lactobacteria really helps with vaginal atrophy.

It's natural to grieve, a hysterectomy is not only saying goodbye to biological children but it's saying goodbye to an integral component(s) of your physicality which is whether we like/acknowledge it or otherwise, an innate part of who and what we are in time and space.
I'm certainly not a medical expert but - maybe, a hysterectomy may be a solution? It's a nexus you're going to need to calibrate and accommodate certainly if there's bottom surgery on your horizon.
I'm born male, never been dysphoric about my physical and socially assigned gender though in my working life I counselled many MTF and FTF clients; a hysterectomy - even in an individual who isn't transitioning - is certainly a huge undertaking and forever alters your physiology not to mention the rebound affect in your psychological response and adjustment.
If you're experiencing this particular issue, it's disturbing you and you're considering bottom surgery further down the line, well, you'll have to undergo the hysterectomy. In the scheme of things this difficult and isolating time as you contemplate deep within your mind and heart is inevitable in everyone's lifetime as we encounter myriad forks in the road; life is mysterious, who can say why we traverse the challenges we encounter?
Whatever your eventual decision don't be too sad, don't freak out and become overwhelmed. Bring it down a notch, relax and let your feelings ebb and flow. Take it easy; you're still young, seemingly in good physical health given the surgical and ongoing medical intervention your body has and is sustaining. In time with patience will come your appropriate resolve.
I'm very old compared to you and one thing I've learnt on this planet as I've experienced my own tragedies and bliss is to never become too agitated no matter what life throws at you, no matter how seemingly hopeless and dark - difficult or sad - circumstances may appear it's all about how you choose to frame things, how willing you are to give time a chance to effect a resolution.
My heartfelt best wishes on your journey, it's a unique adventure and you're very courageous to have and live with certainty, your heart's and mind's convictions. Love and good thoughts from me to you. By the way - I love your editing of this piece, it made me laugh the creature with the knife. I wish I could remember which film I think it's taken? 😃

i dont know if this is already resolved, but getting your ovaries out is no joke. Even on testosterone then you go through menopause symptoms. It ages your body in some ways. Also, its kind of scary for many people because then if anything ever happens and you cant get, or cant take testosterone for a health reason like (god forbid) some kind of cancer or liver problems, then you are left without any natural hormones to fall back on. Historectomy is one thing, Ovaries are a whole in a lot of ways more serious descision. Ive seen vids of other trans peeps who had them out cavalierly and then were like "Whoa, I did not know the consiquences would be so extremem"

Hope you're doing OK, dude. These must be super hard for you to go through. I know from my eating disorder past how uncomfortable it can be for hips to be growing and just wanting to not exist below the neck. I think maybe a hysterectomy is a good option for you. Please don't think it will rob you of your amazing, emotional side. This is clearly a deeper part of you than your reproductive system. You're super special in being so in touch with your feminine side and no surgery (apart from a lobotomy) is gonna change that. Feel better dude, you're awesome

Progesterone is actually a 3 month shot but I am spotting and cramping a ton on it and testosterone so I am also thinking of getting a hysterectomy. I also hate thinking about it even though I try to think well it's the cards I was dealt and men dont carry babies so if I ever have children I feel it would be similar to a traditional male experience I think.

But I actually don’t feel any different and don’t even think about it anymore. Look into freezing your eggs and you can have biological children through a surrogate later. It’s an option u should research.

Again thank you for sharing and on a lighter note also thank you for those sexy shirtless teasers at the beginning and once toward the end lol

If it helps, I had to have a hysterectomy for medical reasons (I had a never-ending heavy period), and I was back to work in 4 days. I’m a cis woman. I know most people take a month or so to bounce back, but I watched your videos about your top surgery, and it likely will be a piece of cake compared to what you went through with that.
As far as kids goes, can I suggest working through that with a therapist? I am no expert on transgender issues, but therapy is always helpful when handling emotional things. Good luck!

  • @jovanijordan

I struggle with the same! I always wanna bulk up to gain muscle and then when i start to see the areas i gain weight, i back off on eating so much. I have to lean bulk as well. What helps to prevent fat gain for me is incorporating HIIT 2-3x a week. I recommend looking into personal trainers and workout plans that work best for your body and goals.
On the hysto part, just had mine a couple months ago. Everything removed except ovaries so freezing eggs is still possible in the future. It’s just less of a success rate if you do it post-hysto rather than before hysto. I’d still keep ovaries even if u can’t freeze your eggs because it prevents u from going through early menopause and keeps low levels of estrogen in your body (like cis males do) rather than having no estrogen at all and only testosterone which puts u at risk for health affects in the future like osteoporosis, etc.
If your ovaries aren’t causing you any problems, keep them. No need to remove them. Plus you won’t have to worry about anymore bleeding once the uterus is removed.
Sorry if any of that is triggering, i just want people to be aware.

Just stumbled upon this video. I don't know much detail about FTM transition, so the following points are meant to clear up my ignorance. No disrespect intended at all.
    1. I had always thought a hysterectomy would go along with starting on testosterone. I would have thought that would prevent competition of the hormones, thus speeding physical changes.
    2. Can't eggs be harvested from the ovaries as part of, or immediately after, the hysterectomy? I would think that harvesting from ovaries once outside the body would be easier than from ovaries on the inside.
I hope you feel better soon and things go well.

    • @maxime7997
      @maxime7997 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. When starting HRT (hormone replacement therapy) there is no need to also do a hysterectomy or a removal of testes. When injected the testosterone doesn’t battle with the estrogen, it naturally replaces it. Also a hysterectomy doesn’t completely void the creation of estrogen and other typically female assigned hormones because even people with testes and no uterus produce those hormones. Furthermore, a lot of people start taking hormones fairly early in their transitions, it’s usually one of the first steps (given there is no clear linear way of transitioning) so around 15/16 years old and hysterectomies and other bottom surgeries are usually done after at least 18 years old, the only surgery available at 16 being top surgery.
      2. I have not heard before that you could harvest eggs from ovaries after a hysterectomy or oophorectomy but yes, it’s possible to harvest them during the surgery.

Weight issues plague both men and women! Perhaps it might be better to focus on healthy foods and portions until you resolve the bleeding issues. This seems to really concern you. My niece and nephew are adopted, love them to pieces. Every option has up and down sides. Think health; mental, spirit, body, social and individual.

It’s not quite a weight issue that I have:) I eat incredibly healthy and exercise a ton. Definitely pros and cons to everything, I agree, but yea this is a bit different than typical weight issues:)

About gaining muscle and/or fat, you should definitely check out Greg Doucette's channel : you don't have to be on a caloric surplus to gain muscle - but he explains those things way better than i do :p

You are one incredibly handsome and sexy guy. You should probably do what you need to do in order to be the person that you want to be. If you want children, there are so many kids who need to be adopted. You might want to think in that direction.

You are one of the most handsome man I have ever seen haha. I kind of understand your struggles with bulking in the gym. I am a cis man that, when bulking, gets a lot of fat and gains muffin tops... but yeah we have to push through that stage and endeavour to not let that bring us down. I encourage you to keep going. When you get lean you will be so glad you did it. Regarding your hysterectomy... think what is best for you and your future... only you and your colsest people can help you to weigh up what option suits you best...

Do you have a female relative you could ask to donate her eggs? Could be uncomfortable after the child is born, but it's an idea. Take care.

    • @lucygoosie7726
      @lucygoosie7726 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

beadpoet as someone who had a hysterectomy (cis woman, medically necessary) I could never ask a relative for eggs. I’ve made my peace with it though and am currently taking adoption courses with my husband.
The worst parts of the hysterectomy were having to take pills for the rest of my life, the increased health risks (it’s an average 25 year life expectancy from the time of surgery), the drastic reduction of sex drive, and the hot flashes. I also feel like giving up on adoption some days since we’ve been going through the process for a few years now, but a relative’s baby would not feel right. You’d always feel like you owe them and that you have to parent them according to your relative’s wishes. Too complicated and messy.
