    African spirituality for beginners. Getting started in African spirituality from an Ifa perspective. Coming from Abrahamic religions to African spirituality can be daunting. Where do you start? Should you start with the orishas? What about your ancestors, how do you connect with them? In this video, we break things down and simplify getting started in African spirituality.

    👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿❤❤❤Bro, I’m an African descent and I’m tired of colonialism lies which made us rejected our Ancestors spiritual, History and cultures. I also want the African spiritual leaders to write down their knowledge on papers instead. I used to be a Christian after reading the entire Bible and Apocrypha. I realized that the God in the Bible belongs to Europeans and its brothers Israel.

    So grateful to be here. After many years I was initiated a few years back. Although a beautiful tradition of the light the people are difficult to deal with especially where poverty is concerned. I feel I have been misled and was given details via my heart to practice alone yet no man is an island. I do not and will not connect with a mortal man woman again. I dont want anyone doing for me what I can do for myself. Plus I live in the west so no blood sacrifice here. I'm deeply saddened by the vampires I have met. Disappointed to say the least

    New subscriber! Keep going King!!! Indeed Africans in the Diaspora are on this journey ESPECIALLY women!!! I give thanks for the revival that dare I say is being fueled by the Diaspora because they are more activated and aware of decolonizing. Curious about your thoughts on what is happening in Benin under their President Patrice Talon who is an unapologetic Vodun practitioner.

    • @TheNaijaZen
      @TheNaijaZen  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@rositascarborough5751 Thanks. There is definitely a reawakening. Not just in the diaspora, but on the continent. Not sure what you are referring to re Benin. The attempted coup drama? I don't really voice public opinions about situations I am not very familiar with. A large percentage of people in Benin are proudly vodun practitioners, as they should be.

    • @rositascarborough5751
      @rositascarborough5751 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Happy to oblige. Benin is undergoing a spiritual renaissance that is unprecedented on the continent. What I mean, Vodun has now been elevated to a political, economic and cultural strategy for the regime of Patrice Talon. They just passed a citizenship law for Diasporans….even surpassing Ghana in the breadth of this new policy. They are sinking $ 250 million in to renovating all their cultural institutions. The only countries that have invested that sort of money is Egypt and Morocco where cultural touridm id such a cornerstone of their economy. Finally Ouidah is being transformed with a central focus around the foundation of Vodun. Vodun Days has moved beyond a public holiday to a full blown national festival and celebration backed fully by the national government. Every body who has visited Benin talks of the transformation in that country that is very visible. Last but not least Patrica Talon considers himself a protege of Paul Kagame and is following a very Rwandan development model.

    My focus is on humanitarianism, and I have a keen interest in understanding various African traditions as I engage with individuals from that region. However, one of the most significant challenges I face is the prevalent lack of self-belief among many Africans regarding their own religions and traditions. Communicating this to others proves to be difficult, as they are often influenced by external perspectives that do not benefit them.
    Religion significantly influenced the process of colonization; without its impact, it is uncertain whether Africa would have experienced colonization at all. However, the outcome remains speculative.

    I’m full of gratitude for this information.. I’ve been doing plenty of Ori and ancestor veneration work to date as well as I’ve received my Egbe.. my current dilemma is do I need to cut my locs to fully receive Isefa or Itefa?.. my spirit is not calling for that at all 😢

    • @TheNaijaZen
      @TheNaijaZen  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You do not need to cut off your locs for Isefa, but you need to for Itefa. Are you sure it is "your spirit" not calling for that? In this tradition, that would be your Ori and why would your Ori get in the way of your greatest good? If you have done divination and been advised to do Isefa or Itefa, this "spirit" might simply be vanity or the inability to let go/attachment. Your Ori can help with that.

      I also suffered the same thing. Nasty uncaring ancestors even though I asked for the good ancestors. It appeared that some of them however were tied to me from former lives. And others were those criminal earthbound types who had been barred from returning to the Astral fields. They caused me serious problems. Though mostly when I was on a low vibration. The solution was to perform Soul cutting rituals, separating me from any remaining karmic ties. I now call upon only the highest Ancestors. The ones of bright light and not the "normal" good ancestors who are exactly the same people as they were on the earth. Faults included.
