    This wisdom has been kept from us especially of the diaspora. We would not have experienced the annihilation that ultimately happened if we could have had counsel of this magnitude. It all makes sense now. When a woman truly understands her role, her decisions in the beginning will shape her and her family's future. She would observe a suitor with different eyes.Can we please have more of this magnificent teacher?

    Maponga, one of my challenges is that the practice of beads for the female cycle was done away with in both immediate and extended family settings. Those that had the right methods have since passed ogogo labokhokho.Current parents and aunties are pretty much following the post colonial systems and practices, which is what we were taught. We are learning from those that still want to preserve the African culture. Your book on the beads would be a great help to many.

    I’m not sure of the core of feminism on the African continent but to my understanding the core of it was to overcome oppressive behavior.
    Me being a more traditional based woman, but a woman either way I don’t see women trying to rise above men. I feel women are simply rising at a high level..Many women have not been given a space to feel valuable in previous times, despite the tremendous role she has played in maintaining the family..physically, and through tremendous emotional labor.
    I do feel feminism has been distorted.
    But I do know women are being heard and seen in a way they have never had opportunity for before. Not as just a tool, that doesn’t have emotions and needs,
    but an extremely important being in the concept of marriage and relationships and the over all community and society.
    The world is resetting itself.
    Requiring a new frequency from everyone.
    The very essence of the feminine is wisdom.
    Like the wind seen as feminine.
    It can be a soft flowing breeze or a force of nature.
    The core of nature will always lean towards or creating acts that ultimately bring order to the earth (the masculine container.)

      How profound and thank you for sharing. I feel the same. And I also feel the feminine is not just rising in men. For half of what makes them is their mothers. There is indeed a new frequency resetting the world, but the resistance to it will be strong. We must remember that the patriarchal dominating and often toxic roles we see our men inhabiting these days was imposed by outsiders and has been in place for a 1000 years. The work continues.

    I am a 78 yr old white guy in Texas. Watch a lot of African channels as I find the diversity of peoples so incredibly interesting. From what I see though, Africa has a serious problem of how men relate to women, although that is in itself a diverse issue. When I see how many women are raped and abused in SA and like in Kenyan slums, it is just appalling. We have a serious issue of this sort her in America and no doubt in much of the "West." but it is not derived from tribal traditions that make females subservient, rather a general legacy of European values where females were regarded as property of men. We only overcame that in the last decades really, and the feminist movement played a huge role in being the driving force for that change. Women are still struggling here, especially women of color, but issues like rape and beatings are marginal, unlike what I see in some African societies. I have six black American godchildren who are in their 30's, and such relationships are wholly foreign to their values, thank god.

    We're getting there. But not quite there yet. I think women are not the only people who have forgotten their importabce and significance, Everything Maponga J said about women is true but i belive men are much much more important than how he describes them.
    Even if we were to restire women to their former glory and place, we will still come back to where we are if we continue to reduce me to just dervents who's purpose is to live and die for women.

    It's about time we had our own philosophy which is well defined, documented and designed to our societal needs than those of Western countries which enfranchised women because of capitalism.
    Feminism was created to demasculanize men if that's a word

    • @nyashamahleko7007
      @nyashamahleko7007 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Feminism was created to give expecially Zimabwean Woman access to land and money.Woman could own Land befor Faminism.Feminism was created to protect woman and Children from abusive male behavior.Feminism was created to give Woman their dignity back

    • @babyboom6825
      @babyboom6825 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nyashamahleko7007 did you know that women had the role of being nurturers of children and carers of homes. Today you decide to hire someone to raise my kid. Today you can argue that you can't make time for me cause you're tired from work. You earn more than your husband and in most cases you forget your role as a woman since you think you can afford yourself, you can provide even for a man which in the past was an abomination in the patriarchal system.FEMALE LIONS ARE BETTER HUNTERS BUT UNDERSTAND THEIR ROLES. Women have misconstrued what Feminism is especially Africans who aren't conservative and are enticed by Western ill culture and lifestyle which tbh is not even old compared to what we have been accustomed to in the centuries of existence in the continent
      I hear your argument but feminism is the reason today we have high divorce rates today. It's why women don't value themselves. Today a woman can set her own lobola or bridal price. There's no way a providing man can not protect his family especially if they give you the respect and honour you deserve as a honourable respectful man. Yes Feminism gave you equality but also opened doors for the woman to feel like she can do whatever a man does, this gave you the illusion that you are more superior because you carry what we as men value as a necessity and primary reason why we're alive. Women are more masculine in the figurative and literal sense of the word. Who took their dignity back? 😂😂😂
      So twerking on social media, walking around half naked, not breastfeeding my kids, not being there every step of the way, allowing a worker to cook, iron for me, ONLYFANS, legal prostitution, drinking alcohol and drug use, waking at night and abortion etc. are all examples of the dignity you want back?
      I won't allow my woman to be told what to do by her boss at work, the pastor at her church or by her male relatives and male besties because in the end I won't be able to control a person with so much autonomy.

      We need to stop putting the BURDEN on ONE PERSON. We all need to RISE UP like the Arab Spring and cause the change we need to have the effect we want on our governance. So many are corrupted by the foreign food delicacies they have tasted and woukd rather die in the chaos caused by outsiders to their psyche. There are lots of greater thinker-speakers but they all need to come together like the time of MLK, MalcolmX and the original Black PantherS (not the fiction wakandan Black panther!).

    Thank you for the wonderful teaching. I love how you spoke about all of it, but putting into account the movement of the world around us I think the evolution of our culture wouldn't be a weakness but would make both men and women strong and adept to the challenges we are to face in the future. I believe that we have lost so much of our spirituality and we are gaining it back slowly but to incorporate this that served our ancestors who relied on the light from a burning lamp made with animal fat with what we have today in the world of AI and advancement at every second. I think it is possible and we can achieve much greatness...being knowledgeable in both aspects
