Forget the syrups that come with the soda stream. I buy lime cordial, vimto or other cordials. Just fizz your chilled water and add to the cordial works brilliant for me. Im drinking about 2 litres of lime and soda a night.
My experience with soda stream has more to do with the water I use than the actual flavoring I use. It must be reverse osmossis filtered water at the very least. Just tap water will taste terrible in it. RO filtered and it tastes like genuine store bought soda. But I like to use it mostly to make zero sugar or low sugar flavored sodas-IE grape, orange, fruit punch, etc, because those are so hard to come by in the stores. But this video really made me curious to try out more cola syrup varieties.
Use Demineralised Water that's what MacDonald does they use 4Filters to remove everything not H20 so the syrup does not have to contend with other flavours this is also what they do at Bottling Plants it's never just plain Tap Water
what is cool about soda stream is that you can dose your amount of sugar and dilution. I like the soda stream better. Also, it tastes fresher because the aromas just been mixed
If you want a really good cola you need to try monin cola syrup, made with pure cane sugar & no other artificial sweeteners, tastes like a coke before the high fructose corn syrup, they have many flavors to choose from, I am building a collection of their flavors, sodastream uses sugar plus artificial sweeteners also
I disagree, you have to drive somewhere to exchange the expensive tanks. Only real soda from the bottle tastes good and its cheaper. You dont have to store soda just buy it when you shop. I got one of these and you can have it.
@@RadioRich100 have you seen the price of soda, reason store brand are mostly out of stock and name brands left. I buy 5 gallon syrup bibs under $45 delivered and use 3.5 oz. Every 1 litter bottle.
Hint - your car will hold more than 1 bottle of soda as your house will. Your getting an inferior product to save space and spend more money. You paid almost $100 for that stupid dispenser and $15 or more for those canisters which you have to go to certain places to get. How many bottles of soda can you buy for the costs youve encountered plus the flavor cost? It doesnt work. You might as well buy a cow to get the milk.

we just bought our sodastream today and have tried the cola , Dr. Pete, lemon lime and orange , using the full recommend amount of cola flavoring the cola tastes like a flat Pepsi ...waaay to sweet , the lemon /lime tastes like Sierra Mist , the Dr. Pete was very close to a real Dr. Pepper but it had a slight hint of vanilla , the Orange was very good , after our 1st round of taste test's , i poured a 1/2 glass of the cola then added the rest of the glass with real coco cola that i had in the fridge, it definitely improved the taste of the soda stream cola

Carbonated drinks are acidic, which is the opposite of sweet. That is, unless you add sugar to the drink. But that's your choice. Yes, I carbonate juice, but you can't do that with a Sodastream machine because it will foam to much.

Coca cola has a distinct flavour, well of course it does.. but overall, it's not as pleasant as a good cola syrup. Yup the algorithm has brought me back here again
You did the shutters flavour of course Coca Cola is gonna taste better because of how hard it is to replicate you should have tried a different flavour
It will foam too much. That's also why you have to add the concentrate after carbonating the water. If you want to carbonate beer, you should get a keg system.
One reason that people don't understand. Is because it's healthier. It has half the calories and it doesn't have all those artificial syrup/flavour. That's why it tastes a tad different. I have one at home :3 I have the SodaStream Source. I love it :3 I have Lemon,Apple, root beer, cola, orange, mango :3
Soda Stream literally uses syrup. You CANNOT make soda without syrup. It's ALL artificial. You think you find Coke syrup in nature?! No, you don't. There's also no point in drinking "healthier" soda, because there is no such thing. It's all bad for you. PERIOD.
Ieishdragyn I always thought that their root beer had menthol or something in the syrup. Like drinking a Newport, lol! I just buy root beer concentrate from a Super Walmart (usually McCormick brand) or from a home brew supply shop, or on line. Just add a tablespoon of it to a liter of simple syrup.
An incredibly unscientific test. Not even double-blind, the people know what they're comparing, A is ALWAYS the same one, as is B, what are people accustomed to... etc. etc. etc.
You do not make money, you just get money that you have already spent back. With the amount of Soda I drank, I found that it was much cheaper to use the Soda Stream. If the flavour is what you look for and you can only stand certain brands, then Name brand bottles and cans are the way to go.
@@neilhamill318 Yup I just carbonate in the 0.5L plastic bottle and then add it to my double walled glass tumbler, also 0.5L and add the syrup, stir and enjoy.
@@insertcolorherehawk3761 A couple years ago PepsiCo bought the soda stream company. And they now produce an official syrup - you defo aren’t gonna safe money using it, but if you care about the plastic waste, then sure it’s good
How? No its not. If want healthier dont drink soda period. That machine dont make it healthy all it does is put fizz in water. Just buy club soda super cheap.
Why don't they ask all the soft drink companies to tell us their recipe? We won't have to buy any more plastic bottles anymore, ending plastic pollution. Greedy bastards.

@@theconclusivesovereignauth5313 oh
Imma coke addict and I need something as good or better :/
I just tried the comparison and have bought my last Coke. Soda stream cola is so much better.
¿Does anybody still drink fresh fruit juice? Carbonated drinks are so sweet they make me cringe, quite literally.
Carbonated drinks are acidic, which is the opposite of sweet. That is, unless you add sugar to the drink. But that's your choice. Yes, I carbonate juice, but you can't do that with a Sodastream machine because it will foam to much.
No, nobody else on Earth drinks juice anymore.
Yeah it tastes good for the moment but it’s wack. Don’t waste your money on buying it
Less calories = less delicious
Fewer* calories = less delicious
If you cannot tell the difference then most likely you're really not a Coca Cola person. I am 100% I would always know the difference. :)
This looks like a PR ad for soda stream. I got one of these for xmas. It makes no sense to make your own soda anymore than you should buy a cow to make your own milk. The soda coming out of it doesnt taste as good, as a matter of fact it has a funny taste to it. Its more expensive to make it and is very inconvenient as you must exchange the expensive co2 tanks (thats one of the ways they get you) not to mention the syrups they sell. All that machine does is carbonate tap water (club soda). You can buy the super cheap club soda yourself and mix in anything you want and drink it right out of the same bottle. You dont need that machine. Its just a fad there trying to start to get you to pay all that money (almost $100 JUST FOR THE MACHINE!) just to carbonate the water. They also promote the environmentally friendly angle because no soda bottles but thats what your local recycling facility is for. I would not buy one.
The Asian dude’s hand is ripped although his face looks like he’s in high school. 😎👍
I wonder if you can do that with beer
It will foam too much. That's also why you have to add the concentrate after carbonating the water. If you want to carbonate beer, you should get a keg system.
One reason that people don't understand. Is because it's healthier. It has half the calories and it doesn't have all those artificial syrup/flavour. That's why it tastes a tad different. I have one at home :3 I have the SodaStream Source. I love it :3 I have Lemon,Apple, root beer, cola, orange, mango :3
I've never heard of the fruit flavors you mentioned, mind posting the link
+Smellyfoot71 don't really have a link but you can look it up! My FAVOURITE by far is Apple
Soda Stream literally uses syrup. You CANNOT make soda without syrup. It's ALL artificial. You think you find Coke syrup in nature?! No, you don't. There's also no point in drinking "healthier" soda, because there is no such thing. It's all bad for you. PERIOD.
If you are going to insist on trying to show your vanilla tattoos off, wear a short sleeve shirt.
Bullshit! My company had one of these and soda stream tasted like generic cola .
I love that cola.. its fountain style now, have to buy it, find out. and root beer, bombtastalicious!
Ieishdragyn I know it's so good 😊
Ieishdragyn I always thought that their root beer had menthol or something in the syrup. Like drinking a Newport, lol! I just buy root beer concentrate from a Super Walmart (usually McCormick brand) or from a home brew supply shop, or on line. Just add a tablespoon of it to a liter of simple syrup.
Sodastream is better than sodas in the store
An incredibly unscientific test. Not even double-blind, the people know what they're comparing, A is ALWAYS the same one, as is B, what are people accustomed to... etc. etc. etc.
Recarnonate flat pop, soda, soda pop.
I'd rather still buy carbonated sodas from stores because when i return the i get moneeeeeeey
You do not make money, you just get money that you have already spent back. With the amount of Soda I drank, I found that it was much cheaper to use the Soda Stream.
If the flavour is what you look for and you can only stand certain brands, then Name brand bottles and cans are the way to go.
Two things keeping me from getting Soda Stream #1- is it a plastic bottle (Yuk) and #2- your always out of diet tonic flavor!
Not hard to transfer the carbonated water to a glass bottle then add the syrup.
@@neilhamill318 Yup I just carbonate in the 0.5L plastic bottle and then add it to my double walled glass tumbler, also 0.5L and add the syrup, stir and enjoy.
I had to trash 2 sodastreans bc they both broke on me so no, I'll stick with my flat nitro pepsi. 😆
Root Beer for me
Hell yeah
Both are American (USA) companies so they must taste similar.
Can you put actual pepsi syrup that I manage to get?
Yes, if you're willing to mix the syrup yourself
@@insertcolorherehawk3761 A couple years ago PepsiCo bought the soda stream company. And they now produce an official syrup - you defo aren’t gonna safe money using it, but if you care about the plastic waste, then sure it’s good
Too bad that's not the same stuff that they sell now.
TURN OFF THE MUSIC WHEN PEOPLE ARE TALKING!!!!!!
The classic sodastream fart
Do you ever just A-10 wort hog
this video just saved me £50
Not if you bought that machine it didnt.
Que dicen es igual ono
Shut up and take my money!
its because you used tap water
Where is Elon Milk
Hell no they don’t taste evtter
I can get the cola to taste just like pepsi.. but the after taste has that diet flavor. Which I hate.
Try distilled water 😁
@@newfdogg
Heck no! Distilled water is unsafe to drink!
People shouldn't drink distilled water!
Sodastream is healthier.
WWEReactionsAndNews Who wants health when your drinking death in a can (also I do not care if anything is put in it except mentos)
How? No its not. If want healthier dont drink soda period. That machine dont make it healthy all it does is put fizz in water. Just buy club soda super cheap.
I like pepsi
Why don't they ask all the soft drink companies to tell us their recipe? We won't have to buy any more plastic bottles anymore, ending plastic pollution. Greedy bastards.

+Bibi Sheriff quick i gotta come up with a random word! uhhh...... food mixer!
