Every cat is an individual just like a human. I've done all of the things you say not to do to a cat at some point and they love it. It's all about body language and your ability to read it
Absolutely! I rub my cat's ears and scratch her head all the time and she loves it. I even give her "love pats" on the side of her thigh like a dog, and when she turns, I pat her on the other side. She knows it's just a friendly game I play with her, and she likes it. Sometimes she'll wake me up in the middle of the night by laying her head on my cheek. I put my arm around her and we both go back to sleep.
Who are all these so called experts on cats? "Don't rub their bellies!" "Don't rub their heads!" All of my cats have enjoyed both and frequently ask for it. Stop making yourself sound stupid !
I would say cat behaviorist (maybe some vets and trainers too) but I think on the internet anyone can pretend to be an expert so... For the headpad I watched to whole video but I don't see why it's "bad" in itself, maybe I missed something? For the belly my girl really dislikes it even tho she let me touch her anywhere else and even play kindly with her tail. If I remember correctly all of my mother's cats didn't like the belly rub either. Well long story short every cat is different, even tho they share the same anatomy. So... just like humans I guess.
Yes... I agree. But I think those experts talk about the "avarage cats" , not all cats. And talking even more to the people that never had a cat before.
Every cat is different. Some of mine love belly rubs and some will bite and scratch you if you touch their bellies. Most of mine are fine with stroking their heads One has a sensitive back and doesn’t want the spine stroked You just have to listen to your cat and they will let you know what they like and dislike.

I have had cats the majority of my life. I believe the longest time without at least one was after the last one I had before the current ones passed away from cancer. I was devastated but not ready to move on very quickly. Several months later a friend had a stray that was in her neighborhood that was getting beat up, so the cat distribution system brought him to me. Now, almost nine years later, he lets me pet him anywhere. He loves belly rubs, having his ears played with, and the weirdo's favorite thing is having is butt smacked. 😂 When I stop doing it he turns to glare at me and then chatters his disapproval. And if I stop petting him before HE is ready, I can expect to be bitten. 😂 It's not a hard painful bite, no marks are even left, it's just enough to get the attention back on him. My babies love a head scratch, Koko loves the base of her ears being scratched and i get agressive headbopps from her, Remi loves his head and chin rubb, Loki is new meber and he just loves pets xD
My Old Grey Tuxedo named 'Remi' won't let me pet anywhere but her head- She's a sensitive lady and if you get below her Shoulders Hiss/She'll bite. Loves her chin/cheek/around-the-ear rubbings. Just pay attention to Kitty when petting and it's pretty easy to notice when they don't like something (it is easy to space out sometimes though)- She actually loves light rubbing on the inside of the ears- not deep, just where there's still fur and only in small doses, I suspect because it's overstimulating, like being tickled.

Point is. There are times when cats need some lone time. They will be upset if disturbed. Just leave them alone a while. Usually few hours later they will come to their favorite human wanting some attention.
My tuxedo cat is a tail wagger while he's purring. I know he's thinking as I pet him. But he meanwhile loves being petted. It's up to individual cats as to what wagging their tail means. Sometimes my cat will whack his tail hard against me while he enjoys petting. I don't know why. But I follow his lead that petting is what he wants and somehow slapping me with his tail is part of his enjoyment. Don't expect this with every cat. It just happens to be one of his methods of communication. He's also extremely chatty and inventive with what he says to me.
My ginger and white cat does that too. If I stop petting him he'll put his head into my hand for more. He's the only one who does this while purring loudly (and he has a LOUD purr). One of my other cats is an ex-feral. We've let him come to us in his time. It's taken 2 years but every day he does something new. Today I was in the bathroom and heard scratching at the door. When I came out he started winding himself round my legs and brushing my legs with his face while purring then pushing his head into my hand for pets. I think he's finally decided that I'm _his_ human and it was a really lovely feeling. He's also adapted well to being a house cat. It's taken a long time for him to really trust us but it's been worth the wait and it had to be in his time. He knows he is loved and is now returning that love. He's a beautiful black cat with the silkiest, shiniest coat of all my cats and beautiful golden eyes (I have 8 - 4 black and 4 of other colours). All my cats are rescues from one bad situation or another.
One of our cats (a void) needs to have his tail still to be pet. If he starts wagging it even slightly, he's getting agitated. If he's slapping it, he'll bite, hard enough to break skin. Our other cat always wags his tail when pet, sometimes twitchesit pretty hard, yet has never once swatted or tried to bite when pet, even when it's less comfortable for him. Except when he hurt his lower back, he did a warning "air-bite" around three times in the span of a few months while he was hurting, when we touched that area specifically.
I don't usually pet Catface on his head, but he does get a little kiss on the top of his head from time to time, and when he's in my lap, he'll turn his head toward me like "kiss please" When it comes to petting him, I'll let him pet himself with my hand, hanging it down at my side and letting him rub up against it. He tends to use the side of his head for that.
I have a couple bald eagles flying around my area so I'm outside with my cats. Casper is in his cat tent and tunnel and Corn Pop is harnesses trained. Casper likes being rubbed every where and Corn Pop doesn't like belly rubs
So first they tell us cats love getting thier heads petted because it reminds them of their mom licking that part of their body. Now they say not to do it! I dunno what the hell to believe now! Lol
My cat loves being scratched or gently rubbed all over her head--cheeks, chin, base of ears, even nose + forehead. Just rub in direction fur goes. She even head butts me until i scratch her head. Every cat is different. Cats have a "pleasure shut off point". Once they get enough good petting, they can't take it, + may swipe or bite if you don't stop.
Great video. One of the few ones, that gets everything right.👍In addition, even if the cat that is living with you starts purring when you touch them the wrong way, that usually means that they just want positive attention from you, not that they like what you are doing. Many cats are veeeery friendly/ patient or they are napping/tired and just don't want to get up to flee from your harassment until they really can't take it anymore.
There is a female cat here that violently switches her tail constantly and she is demanding. She wants petted and demands you sit still while she is on your lap. She is loud and will let you know what she wants and when she wants it.
My cat loves getting her ears squished a bit, she closes her eyes and tilts her head a bit. I only do it a couple of times before moving onto her head, which again she likes getting petted on.
Much of this is absolute nonsense. I have a 5 year old cat who was feral that became my indoor-outdoor cat. 1. She LOVES me rubbing her ears, even cleaning them on the inside or picking a tick off if need be. 2. She also loves being pet "against the grain" even on her tummy 3. She likes me running my hand across her whiskers pushing them back against her face. Where did this wrong info come from? I have over 60 years with cats and have videos of my current one on odysee. Her name is Booboo and my content is under wide eye video (all one word).
My cat does nudge my hand with her head and then I give her a head rub, avoiding her ears, until she turns away. Same with scritches on her jaw or neck or shoulders; she will close her eyes and I'll say "Kitty spa day!" and then stop when she moves away. When I need to pick up my cat, I get in front of her and then go to the side to pick her up. If she's been in her room/the office for a while and I've been somewhere else, I hold my hand out for her to sniff it and when she nudges her head I'll pet her, and if she doesn't, I'll keep my hand still and she's apt to lick it. She's not so fond of being brushed, but finger combed is ok.
My cat makes me rub his head he loves it, and I have another that wants his belly rubbed and then pulls my hand in to lick. If he's done, he pushes away. But he turns and has love in his eyes like he turned back into a kitten.

In 50+ years I've never had or seen a cat that didn't like having their ears touched. First comes basic trust, don't sneak up or surprise them etc. A gentle ear pull actually releases endorphins. My cats like me stroking them every where the only place their not keen on being petted is on their tummy aa its so sensitive ! All cats are different and some like to be petted more then others!we all know what our cats like or not like!❤❤❤
I must somewhat disagree on this one because I've known cats that absolutely ENJOYED having their heads caressed, ESPECIALLY up around the face and ears Each cat is uniquely different, learn to read your cat as you come to know them better and better because each cat may actually be different One thing I've ALWAYS noticed is every cat I've ever interacted with had "elevator ass" Elevator ass is when you gently rub them right at the base of the tail, and UP goes the ass in ENJOYMENT SOME cats ALSO like tummy rubs IF it's done RIGHT, and some may not The MORE you get to know your cat through INTERACTION, the MORE you'll LEARN what they LIKE and dislike
yeah, my cat loves his ears being rubbed and if i thought it was making him unhappy, well, i wouldnt have to think about it, my hands would be bloody stumps lol, he likes all the things that these videos keep telling me are wrong, i think cats are very individual like humans and what works for one wont work for some others, and if we were to believe everything that is said here we would never touch our cats and that would make them extremely unhappy!
I've had may cats! There is no general rule for cats. All of the ones I've had love head rubs! The will nudge me to continue and again and again. I've had 4 that will literally roll over for belly rubs. They love it! The male cats love a belly rub. Females dont. Every cat is different, and you will learn quickly what they like or dont like. My Mr. Bentley demands belly rubs! He rolls over for his rub at least 6 to 10 times a day. As with any animal or human for that matter, you just go with their cues and learn what they like.
Pet a cat below his or her ears .. but don't be surprised the want in through the bathroom door! (or inside from a storm to sit in your sleeping legs at night)
Except my cat likes to play chase, loves being pet everywhere. If she runs it means, no more pets but come chase me. She chases me back. It’s fun. She makes this come chase me sound which is different from her other meows. And she zoomies but then checks to see if I’m coming. If I don’t she will give me complete catitude. If she doesn’t want her ears touched it means they are bothering her and need me to clean them out for her. She’s prone to ear infections so we clean her ears more often than not. Although if she’s sleeping do not disturb her. She will give you the death glare. 😅
I don't know, I think my cat seems to like it.I mean, she's the way you stay there and let's me do it.She has no problem. With it, I don't smack her head.I just Pat her head. She seems to like it and then I scratched behind the ear.And I don't need to chin I scratched her belly
Will I get away with it I can make circles around each ears and she loves it and never expresses disdain only pleasure I guess I have a certain touch but I've had over 20 cats in my life and I'm a lover what can I tell you
I think it depends on the cat my four cats love to have their ears rubbed and put on and think it’s great, but I’ve been doing it since every tiny tiny little babies two of them don’t like the top of their heads to be pet and the other two don’t care for it at all
Have you ever had a cat? Dont seem like it. Ive had them my entire life and im old, half the shit you say is totally bogus. Your cats probably dont like you, thats why you have the relationship with your cat that you have.

You make it sound like ALL cats fit into YOUR description, which, they do not! I have two Bombays, brother, and sister. They enjoy, and ASK for many of your "taboo" gestures. They even love to have their ears gently rubbed. My boy, will literally force his head under my hand, and push hard for his head rubs. He loves it! Maybe stop making such "generalized" statements, without also explaining that MANY cats, don't fit into the same "box", so-to-speak.

My cats like me stroking them every where the only place their not keen on being petted is on their tummy aa its so sensitive ! All cats are different and some like to be petted more then others!we all know what our cats like or not like!❤❤❤
i am gonna do what i want.
I must somewhat disagree on this one because I've known cats that absolutely ENJOYED having their heads caressed, ESPECIALLY up around the face and ears
Each cat is uniquely different, learn to read your cat as you come to know them better and better because each cat may actually be different
One thing I've ALWAYS noticed is every cat I've ever interacted with had "elevator ass"
Elevator ass is when you gently rub them right at the base of the tail, and UP goes the ass in ENJOYMENT
SOME cats ALSO like tummy rubs IF it's done RIGHT, and some may not
The MORE you get to know your cat through INTERACTION, the MORE you'll LEARN what they LIKE and dislike
My barn cat loves his ears being rubbed
Yeah, my cats love having their heads and necks and backs petted one cat even loves having her belly rubbed like a dog.
My cat loves her head petted..she never fights me
My cat demands whisker pets several times a day. He also loves his ears petted and if I don’t do it he puts them in my hands
The cat will tell you.
My girl Noodles rams her head into me when she wants me to pet her head. Cats are individuals, so it depends on the cat.
Hey, you pet your kitty's tummy, you're gonna get farted up 😂
Nonsense I been petting my cats head past 7 years and she has no problem with it My cat loves me
yeah, my cat loves his ears being rubbed and if i thought it was making him unhappy, well, i wouldnt have to think about it, my hands would be bloody stumps lol, he likes all the things that these videos keep telling me are wrong, i think cats are very individual like humans and what works for one wont work for some others, and if we were to believe everything that is said here we would never touch our cats and that would make them extremely unhappy!
My cat seems to love being pet extremely hard. Everytime she starts purring and after comes in for more.
I'm sure my cat will let me know if she doesnt like me petting her head.I even brush her head which she doesnt mind.
Pet a cat below his or her ears .. but don't be surprised the want in through the bathroom door! (or inside from a storm to sit in your sleeping legs at night)
My cat loves to have his inner ear massaged.
Why would I subscribe to a channel of somebody who’s never petted cat
Now i know why it’s so hard for me to clean my cat’s ears. I really didn’t know the ears were so sensitive. 6:16
I don't know, I think my cat seems to like it.I mean, she's the way you stay there and let's me do it.She has no problem. With it, I don't smack her head.I just Pat her head. She seems to like it and then I scratched behind the ear.And I don't need to chin I scratched her belly
My cat loves to have his ears rubbed he loves having his face rubbed this guy doesn't know what he's doing
Then why does the cat press its head against my hand 😅
I'm not getting a cat that doesn't like head pets
my neighbor's cat likes the inside of their ears tickled.
Is this content partially made by AI or something? So self repeating and silly points along with the general info.
My cat likes rubs on the base of his ears. He also likes scritches on his cheeks and chin.
Before you stop petting your cat's head, click dislike and skip the video.
Sounds about right!!!❤
One of my cats is weird, he loves light pats (spankings) and tries to choke himself on my arm or hand.
To much stimulation!😼
On
Animal channel it says petting a cats head calms them
Lol. There is a cat here that must be scruffed. He will get mad if you don't wash board him. He goes nuts at rough scruffing. Loves it
My cats approach me when they want a cuddle.
If they don't want a cuddle, that's ok too.
Is this the cat channel that got 100,000 subscribers!?
Ehh? My cat doesnt mind being pet any of these mentioned places?
yeah my cat loves it
So I guess it's my fault that my cat was born sassy😅
Will I get away with it I can make circles around each ears and she loves it and never expresses disdain only pleasure I guess I have a certain touch but I've had over 20 cats in my life and I'm a lover what can I tell you
Bullshit my cats lay on my hands and go to sleep
I think it depends on the cat my four cats love to have their ears rubbed and put on and think it’s great, but I’ve been doing it since every tiny tiny little babies two of them don’t like the top of their heads to be pet and the other two don’t care for it at all
No eagle better not do anything to my cats... They're naughty, but they're mine ..
Have you ever had a cat? Dont seem like it. Ive had them my entire life and im old, half the shit you say is totally bogus. Your cats probably dont like you, thats why you have the relationship with your cat that you have.
So, when I was younger I would brush my hair back. For the last 8 yrs I have brushed it forward. It doesn’t bother me either way so what this dood talk bout brah?
The Point is- Esp their tou hy areas-& Look for their responses-to your actions & look fir their responses so can remb where NOT to pet or ETC that particular cat & dont over stimulate- need to let them decide abt everything!
They love that shit!
Utterly nonsense
Yeah. What is this hateful 'negging' channel even? It's not the first "DON'T DO THIS OR YOU'RE A BAD PERSON' video.
Yeah bad info, this person knows nothing about cats, they are all different.
So a lot half of this is a bunch of lies. The only cats that wouldn't have had liked any of this would've been feral cats.
Non sense I will pet my cat when & how I want LOL
lol, gonna 421 the like
Sorry, but one of my cats likes being stroked in front of her ears.
"you might lose their trust FOREVER" come on now.
